CHAPTER 37
CHAPTER 37
Chloe's POV:
I watched as Lily's bird flew away, then went around the house in a change of direction. I waited, until I heard her ask me to shift her back and she confirmed that she was with Mark.
“Baby,” I said, swiftly spinning around. “Once they are out of here, then it's time to make the move. You leave first, gather the men and wait for me in the woods. We need to make a grand entrance.”
His lips pursed, his eyes narrowing into slits. “Whatever you have going on in that head of yours, you can forget about it,” he said with finality. “I am not leaving you alone, not for a second!”
I huffed, rolling my eyes at him. He was such a stubborn wolf that there was no reasoning with him. “Fine, I can just teleport and leave you on here all by yourself.” I smirked, giving him a teasing look.
“You wouldn't dare,” he growled lowly.
“Oh, you challenge me, don't you? See me dare now,” I snapped my fingers, putting on invisibility.
Marcus's mouth hit the ground and his eyes widened in disbelief before he huffed in anger. “You had better be playing a prank on me, because if you seriously left here, I would be very crossed with you!”
I tried not to laugh.
“Chloe Zephora Tristan! Out with you this minute!”
He was beginning to sound agitated and in no time, he would begin to raise his voice and that could attract unwanted attention to us and that was not what I wanted in the least.
Before he could open his mouth to speak again, I appeared before him, batting my eyes at him sexily. “Let’s go honey,” I said, grabbing his hand and just like that, he followed me like a fool.
I made us both invisible again as we entered the passage, and I followed my magic's direction in Lily. I stared to pull Marcus towards were the magic was emanating from and I led us to a little shed at the back of the house. My mouth dropped open, and I heard an angry growl leave Marcus.
“Of all places in this gods forsaken place, this dratted shed is where they saw fit to keep my Beta?” He growled lowly. “Mark is in trouble with me, serious trouble!”
I glared up at him. “You seriously are not blaming Mark for getting caught, are you?”
“I am,” he stated blatantly. “It is an insult to me and the pack in entirety. How could he let himself get kidnapped by such low lives?”
I know right? My husband was such a cocky bastard! We were yet even set eyes on his Beta, to confirm if he was still alive or not, but what bothered him was the fact that the situation had messed with his pride. Phew!
“Let’s at least go in first and see if he is alright.” I left him there, going ahead and passed in through the door. My eyes fell on the couple one the floor. I looked around to see the heads of goats and sheeps, peeking out from their stalls. “They kept you in the goat house?!”
My angry voice seemed to get their attention. Both of them turned to me, Lily looking relieved, while Mark gave me and exhausted look. He suddenly looked past me and instantly, I felt Marcus beside me.
“It was about time you came,” Mark whispered, his lips quirking up into a smirk. “I thought you wouldn't make it in time before I got murdered.”
They was a low growl from behind me. “Actually, I wish you died—”
I gasped, as I saw a hurt look cross Lily's face. Obviously she was offended and I really did not want to feel bad for her after how much she had betrayed me, but my heart still reached out to her.
“—it would have been better than seeing you chained up in a goat house,” he just his tongue against his teeth. “You shame me Mark, you shame me!”
I smacked him on the chest. “Hush! This is no time to look for faults, we have wolves to kill, so we better be on our way!” I conjured up pressure on the chains that held Mark's hand and they came undone, falling off his wrists and onto the ground.
Before I could even ask Lily to help him up, he spring to his feet, shaking off the stiffness in his body. “Did I hear someone say we had wolves to kill?” He smirked evilly, wriggling an eyebrow.
I started to argue with him that he should stand in the side with Lily, but Marcus stopped me, saying that it was time for Mark to regain his lost glory. And that was how me all left the shed, Mark and Lily kissing behind us.
“Please, do not rip the clothes off each other, we are now in the open,” Marcus growled, making me roll eyes.
I hide a smile, not wanting Lily to misunderstand it and think that all was well with us when actually, I still had a few 'not very nice' things to say to to her.
Everyone, gather around! I commanded, already leading my group out into the woods.
Once everyone was present, I began to speak. “Now, we grace the party.” I turned to Marcus and Lily, “You both are to remain close by, I will call for you, when I need you to show yourselves, okay?”
They nodded.
My eyes met with my husband's for a minute and I didn't need an oracle to tell me that he was not in the least pleased with what was about to happen but I was far past the stage to care! Now, I needed to rip someone apart and until I did that, I would know no rest!
“Let’s go,” I said, turning around and began marching back to the party, while also breaking the invisibility spell. “Stay together, stick to on another and don't move unless I ask you to,” I muttered lowly.
They all grunted their response.
Our footsteps were now solid against the floor and we started to get attention as we approached. One angle of the circle parted, making way for me when I got there and even a bigger space for the men behind me. Marcus came to fall in place beside me, his strides meeting mine as we approached the couple at the end of the throne.
By now, everywhere was silent and we had gotten the Alpha's and Luna's attention. The wolf sat there, a confused look on his face, while the she-wolf continued to stare at me wide eyed. We halted in front of them. My eyes flickered to my aunt's for a second, then I returned my gaze back to her husband.
Marcus spoke up: “I am Alpha Marcus of Blackwood,” he then turned to look at me, my heart racing as he stared down at me with sheer pride on his face. “And my beautiful wife, Luna Chloe of Blackwood. This is my Gamma and the rest, are my finest warriors.” He gestured at Titus and the rest of the soldiers. “You may know why I am here,” he paused. “Or you may not, so I will tell you. I hear that you are in wrongful possession of my Beta and I have come to get him!”
In all of it, not once did I take my eyes off my husband. I turned to look at Sherlock, whose face had turned pale at the mention of our names. It made me understand that he had not even known me in person, but had only wanted to capture me. Why?
“And,” I cut in before he could recover and say anything. “I would like to know why a tribe that rejected my father, turned their backs on him and killed him, would want anything to do with an unworthy half breed as myself? Why do you seek me out much and what do you want from me?!”
I heard a scoff and when I looked, I noticed it came from my aunt. It was obvious that she was still under the illusion that I did not remember who she was or maybe, she thought less of me. “Aunty Chloe,” I stated, giving her a taunting look as she sat up straighter in her seat. “Long time, no see...”
In reply, I got a funny sound and she also looked like she was about to choke on her spit. Her wide eyes slowly shrunk and some colour came to her face. She diverted her eyes elsewhere,as she spoke: “I see you remember me,” she muttered. “Then why did you come here?” She asked conflicted and that almost got me confused. She had wanted me here, obviously, but now she looked sort of restless and her eyes kept flickering to her husband. She then gave me a very pointed look and I tensed when I heard her voice in my head.
Then, why did you come here!
That took me by surprise, but I replied almost immediately. I came to kill you!
I met her eyeball to eyeball, not once did I revert my gaze. She would be the last I will kill however, I needed to know how I was still connected to her pack's link and how we could still communicate, even when I wasn't born into the pack.
Fine! But before you do that, make sure you kill this beast beside me, he was the one who led to both my brother's death!
Oh Sherlock, my gaze flickered back to him. I knew him well. I remembered him from the fight, he had been right beside my uncle and due to Titus's findings, he had been betrothed to my aunty and had been the one who misled my uncle Tom intonating my father and turned the whole pack against him. He was going to didn't my hands and that, will I make sure of!
The aforementioned cleared his throat, gaining all of our attention to himself. His scanned us all, then his eyes narrowed when he got to me. “You! Finally, you have come,” he gave off an evil cackle, earning a disgusted look from his wife(but it was so fast that I think I was the only one who saw her do that). “Seize them!”
In that exact moment, Marcus was in front of me, putting up a defensive stance. “Stand back!” He yelled, the other soldiers drawing out their weapons as we got surrounded. “Nobody come closer! Or it's not going to end well for us all!”
This was bad idea, I told you, didn't I?!
I rolled my eyes, when I head my husband's accusing voice in my head. It hadn't gone exactly as I thought it would, but that still did not mean I was not in control of the situation! I moved around him, stepping forward. “Freeze!”
Time stood still, alongside everyone at my command and I lowered my hands, laughing maniacally as I stared at my palms. Wow! Who knew I could ever control so much power? It felt like my body was our of control, and my demon had been talking a lot these days and strangely, I always obeyed whatever she asked me to do and it always worked!
I touched Marcus's arm, unfreezing him and he startled to consciousness. I saw his puzzles face, as he took in the surrounding. “Just in case you'd wanna know,” I flexed my hands, giving him a wide grin. “I froze them all, including you!”
“Another vampire ability?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. He smiled when I nodded vigorously. “So, this is the surprise you had prepared for me?”
“Yes sir!”
“I am proud of you baby,” he said.
We both turned back to the statue which sat with it's mouth open and eyes wide, making me want to chop off his tongue and feed it to the fishes of the sea. Bloody damn Sherlock! Finally, I would give him his end but that wouldn't be nice a last speech, would it?
