Chapter 97: It's Payback Time

Chapter 97: It's Payback Time
Cattleya’s POV

"Do you get déjà vu? This happened before, right?" I whispered softly in her ears, pulled away with a sweet smile, then glanced at Jaxon. "So, where's my room? I'm excited to live here from now on."

I could feel her blood boiling in her veins. The way she stared at me, the way her eyebrows twitched in anger, filled me with so much happiness.

"Jaxon, can I talk to you in private?" Elise asked politely, with a matching smile gracing her lips.

Jaxon agreed, and they retreated inside, leaving me alone outside.

I sighed softly, the memory of Jaxon's altered plan washing over me. He no longer intended to keep me hidden from everyone. Instead, he planned to introduce me to everyone, using this opportunity to observe his surroundings. His logic was simple: if I was willing to provide him with information about his lost memories, he could use this newfound visibility to protect me.

"Jaxon, can I talk to you in private?" Elise asked politely, a matching smile gracing her lips.

Jaxon agreed, and they retreated inside, leaving me alone outside. I crossed my arms across my chest and waited for them to finish talking. After about three minutes, Jaxon and Elise stepped outside.

"Your room is next to mine," Jaxon announced. "You're my new secretary, I need you to work with me twenty-four seven."

Elise scoffed in disbelief. "Jaxon, can you hear yourself? I'm even far from you, and you don't let me in your room every night because of your trauma from the accident, and now you want this woman so close to you?"

Jaxon glanced at her and sighed. "Elise, you don't work for me. End of discussion."

Jaxon left and called the butler to take me to my room. Before I stepped upstairs, I glanced at Elise's pursed lips. And when she walked towards me, she said, "Why are you here again?"

"Because all of these things, and even him, belong to me," I whispered back, the words a low threat directed at her ears. Then I walked away.

I know that stepping foot in this place could lead me to death, but whatever the consequences, I'm going to face every fear now. I need the father of my twins, and they need him. I'll try my best to have him back again.

I walked inside the room, and the butler helped me put my things away. "So, what can I call you, Miss?" he inquired.

I threw a glance at the butler. He looked new, and I knew that no one in this villa knew about me. They had replaced all the staff to keep all secrets hidden, and I felt like everyone was working for Elise and her father. This could easily lead to sabotage.

"Oh, just call me Cattleya," I said with a smile. "That's my name.” And I have to gain this butler's trust to use him in the long run.

"My name is Thad," he said, shaking hands with me. "Just call me Butler Thad, Miss Cattleya."

Then he walked to the doorway and glanced at me. "If you need anything, just push the red button near to your table. I'll be glad to serve you, Miss Cattleya."

"Thank you, Butler Thad," I replied, nodding my head.

He closed the door quietly, and I could hear his footsteps retreating in the background.

Then, after a few seconds, I heard a knock on my door. I knew who it was—it could be my enemy. I opened the door with a gun in my hand. I was right; it was Elise standing right in front of me.

She gasped when she saw me holding a gun, then shrieked, "What the hell are you doing? Do you want to kill me?" She pushed herself inside my room, her confidence unwavering.

I glared at her. "You're trespassing on my territory, Elise. I could pull this trigger right now and claim your life, just as you did to me."

She scoffed. "Do you think you can stop me? Cattleya, let me make this clear, Jaxon won't remember you anymore, and I will do everything to get you kicked out of this fucking villa!"

I put my gun inside the drawer and laughed at her. "Look at you, you look so desperate to take what's mine. If any of these people here were to know who I am, do you think you can stop the truth from spreading? Be careful, Elise…"

Her lips pursed into a furious expression. She wasn't able to contain her anger, so she stormed towards me, grabbed my hair in a rage, and dragged me towards the balcony. "I can kill you right now and make it look like an accident," she hissed.

I grabbed her hair in return, causing her scalp to sting. She yelled in outrage.

"Well, I guess you are right," I whispered breathily, pushing her back until she was teetering on the balcony's edge. "Because below the concrete ground promised a swift and painful end...."

Her eyes widened in terror. "Cattleya!" she shrieked.

"Oh, now you have the audacity to call me by my name, begging me not to let you go?" I smiled creepily. The memory of what she had done to me fueled a boiling rage within me. I almost died that day! But here I am, making her pay for what she did to me.

"It's payback time, Elise…" I chuckled softly. As I slowly released my grip on her hand, she clutched mine tightly, tears welling up in her eyes as fear consumed her.

She gasped in fear. "Cattleya! What the hell are you doing?! My son… My son is watching us…" she stammered, her gaze darting downwards. Her son was watching us from below, his eyes wide with confusion.

My heart skipped a beat. I shouldn't have done this in front of an innocent child.

I grabbed her and pulled her back to safety while a chilling smile played on my lips. "Well, good thing you were saved by your son. But to let you know, I'm not letting this pass next time. I'll make sure your son isn't watching us."

Her lips trembled, her eyes widening in pure hatred. Then he scoffed,

"How dare you make threats in my own territory? Do you know that everyone here can help me get rid of you?"

"Then ask them to help you," I replied with a chilling smile. "Don't worry, Jaxon will protect me because he brought me here for one reason, and you know what that reason is."

She stepped back, "Did you seduce Jaxon?! No wonder you're a mafia seductress; you know how to play… but that doesn't erase the fact that your husband belongs to me now!"

I grabbed her collar, pulled her close, and wrapped my fingers tightly around her neck. She struggled for breath, her eyes bulging.

"You're smart, but you're incredibly dumb, Elise," I hissed. "You don't even know how to fight."

Suddenly, the door burst open. I reacted instinctively, throwing myself to the floor. Jaxon stood in the doorway, his eyes sweeping with concern. "What the hell happened here?" he demanded.

Elise, still clutching her neck, could only stammer, "J—Jaxon…"

"Elise! What did you do to her?!" he roared.

Elise coughed softly and asked in surprise, "W—What? Me?!"
