Chapter 26 Furious.
“I'm out of here,” I mumbled as I made my way upstairs.desperate to escape the suffocating atmosphere.
“Shimma! Where are you going?“ My mum yelled, but I ignored her. I got inside my room, slamming the door.
MR MATTIAS'S POV.
This is the thirtieth time I am calling Shimma's number, And it's not reachable. I can't call her parents, they might suspect me. Because right now I am really panicking.
I'm sure she's safe because I dropped her off yesterday. But what if she's in danger? Dammit! I wouldn't have allowed her to leave her car here yesterday. I just couldn't let Lucas have his way.
I'm going crazy right now, I need to call her mother. At least I want to know if she's safe.
I brought out my phone, dialling Mrs Anna's number. I patiently waited for her response, but she didn't respond. I called again, there was still no response. Shit! I slipped my hand in and out of my hair in frustration.
“Shimma, you're going to make me go crazy,” I cussed under my breath..
I stood up from my chair because I was beginning to feel restless. I dialled Derry's number, and on the third ring, he picked up.
“Mattias,” He said. I frowned because he sounded cold, did something happen to my Shimma? No! It better not be.
“Derry, Uh! Shimma, is she okay? She didn't come to work today,”
“Shimma, but she's meant to be at work,” Derry said, his voice still cold. But at least there was nothing wrong with Shimma. Not that he knew of.
“I know, that's why I called, I just want to know if she's alright,”
“I don't know, I left home earlier,” he said bluntly.
“Oh, alright,” I said, trying to comport myself, even if I wasn't yet convinced.
“Uh, Derry, are you alright?“ I asked.
“Yeah, why?“ He asked.
“It's nothing, I'll speak with you later,” I said, ending the call.
Derry is my best Friend, and I should be concerned about his cold mood. But Shimma is the love of my life, and right now, I need to go look for her.
LUCAS'S POV.
Today, no one is going to stop me. Not even Mattias. I won't let him pull the stunt he pulled yesterday.
It was lunch time, this was the best time to talk to her. I could even take her out for lunch. Perfect!
A smirk settled on my lips as I made my way to her office.
“Knock, knock,”
I had decided to knock today. I wanted to be more of a gentle man, coming out confident didn't really matter to me today. I just want to get to know her. I need to be clear on what I feel, and what she feels about me.
I stood there, waiting for her response but I got none. My smirk slowly faded as I knocked again. Still no response.
I tried to open the door but It was locked. Didn't she come to work today? Or could she…..
I decided to check Mattias's office, she might be there. I adjusted my tie, straightening my posture as I knocked on Mattias's office door.
After a few seconds of waiting, I got no response from him. I tried to open his door, but it was also locked.
“What's going on?“
SHIMMA
I sat on my bed, arms folded tightly across my chest, feeling the familiar knot of frustration. I hated this for my mother. Even after I had told her I didn’t want to see Blake, she still called him.
“Knock, knock.”
“Shimma, what is wrong with you? Why did you leave?” My mother’s tone was a mix of concern and irritation.
“I told you not to bring him here! Why do you always try to make my decisions for me? He dumped me! And you expect me to forgive him? This is bullshit!” My voice rose, anger bubbling over as I struggled to contain it.
“It’s not about forgiveness. I just want you both to talk. Who knows? You might end up—”
“End up what?” I cut her off, my pulse quickening. I stood up from the bed, urgency driving me to the door. I needed to see her face, to understand what she was thinking.
I flung the door open, and there stood Blake, wearing a pitying expression that only fueled my anger.
“Shimma, you’re seriously taking this the wrong way.”
“I wouldn’t be reacting this way if you hadn't called him here!” I shot back.
“He has no right to be here!”
“Shimma! It hasn’t gotten to that,” my mother interjected.
Blake stepped forward, his voice low. “Mrs. Anna, it’s fine. I deserve whatever she wants to call me. I was an asshole, and I'm so sorry if I hurt.”
“What’s going on here?” A familiar voice cut through the tension. I turned to see Mr. Mattias making his way up the stairs, confusion etched on his face.
The moment Blake locked eyes with him, the confusion morphed into something darker—anger, rage. A chill ran down my spine; I was scared for Blake.
My mother, oblivious to the growing tension, stammered, “Uh, Mattias, you’re here? We didn’t notice you walk in.”
“I heard noises. What’s going on? And what is he doing here?” Mr. Mattias’s voice was firm, his gaze fixed on Blake.
Blake fell silent, his body tense, as if he sensed the storm brewing.
“It’s Shimma. She’s just being stubborn. They had a little misunderstanding, and I just want them to sort things out,” my mother said, her tone dismissive.
“A little misunderstanding?” Mattias turned to her, his voice sharp. “Shimma is not a child anymore! She can choose who she wants to be with.”
Mr. Mattias’s protective instinct surged, and I felt a rush of warmth mixed with fear. He was angry, and Blake was in the line of fire.
“Get the hell out of here before I do something you won’t forget,” Mattias warned, his fists clenched at his sides.
“Why? You don’t have any right to tell me if I should be with her or not! She is my girl, and I can’t just leave her like that!” Blake’s defiance rang out, but I could see the tremor in his hands.
Mattias smirked, his face reddening with anger. My heart raced. I wanted to intervene, to stop this from escalating, but my tongue felt heavy, words failing me.
“Leave, now!” Mattias commanded again, his voice like steel.
“I said I’m not going any wh—”
Before Blake could finish, a punch landed squarely on his jaw….
