Chapter 17 17
Sheila's POV
I couldn't contain my excitement as we finalized the final documents and I had procured seventy five percent of the company's share. It was exhilarating. Cameron noticed I was sin high spirits and couldn't help but ask me about you.
“You look happier than usual these days, is there something going on that I should know?” He asked me, over breakfast.
“Well, if you insist on knowing, I just procured the lion share of a company for the company and we're finally the highest shareholder. “ I bragged and he clapped his hands for me.
“That's impressive, you have a knack for investments don't you?” He praised me.
“Of course I do! It's what I live for, a few more years of this and I'll be the greatest investor to ever live.” I boasted and he laughed.
“Yes, your highness. Until then, have your breakfast in peace and tone down that beautiful smile on your face, I can't have you going out in public, smiling at everyone.” He said, possessively
“Why? Are you ashamed of my smile?” I asked, a little bit offended.
“Of course not, I'm scared all the men will fall heads over heels in lobe with you and forsake the business world to behin to pursue you instead, there's just one of me and I don't know how long I'll be able to find them off.”
I burst into laughter, he was unbelievably cunning and had his way wirh words.
“I'll try.” I teased him.
“Good, since you're so excited about this company, how about you just buy it in your name instead.” He suggested.
I arched an eyebrow. “Is that possible? Even if it is, where am I going to get two hundred and sixty million naira? I've barely worked for three months.”
Cameron suddenly dropped his spoon and frowned deeply, I was scared by the sudden change in his countenance.
“What happened? Did I say something wrong?”
“How dare you!” He thundered and I flinched.
“How dare you insinuate that you're poor when I’m right here? Didn't I tell you that I'll give you the whole world if you requested it, what then is a measly two hundred million that I won’t give to you? Transfer the shares to your name, I'll refund the money to the company. “ he ordered and I relaxed, seeing he was just being dramatic.
He picked up his phone and called Jacob, asking him to complete the transfer of shares in my name immediately. I was dumbfounded and he continued eating, murmuring about how I was underrating and looking down on him.
“I'm sorry,” I apologized but he didn’t look at me. “I said I'm sorry!” I repeated and he scoffed.
“Give me a kiss and I'll accept your apology.” He demanded wirh a stern face.
I laughed and kissed him fully on the lips rhen he smiled, I couldn't stop.laughing at how dramatic he was. His phone rang and he received a file. I saw the look on his face morph into a mischievous smile.
“Jacob has completed the transfer and I just noticed the name of the company, you're one petty little vixen aren't you?” He asked, knowingly.
“Your sexy little petty vixen.” I corrected him and he chuckled.
“Does he know?”
“Not yet, but he will, today. I'm meeting up with thr Baird members, its time they meet their new CEO.” I bragged with a smug smile spreading across my face.
Cameron clicked his tongue. “What do you plan on doing with it?”
I smacked my lips cunningly. “What you've always taught me to do; give them hell.”
Cameron couldn't stop laughing and praising me at the same time but he had to leave early because he has to travel overseas for a business brief and return home the same day.
I also got to work, all fired up and ready to take over my new company. I called Delilah to meet me outside of the company's building.
“Get in the car, we're going to work somewhere else today.” I informed her and she obeyed without hesitation though I could feel she was curious.
We highlighted the company I had just acquired and walked in like we owned the place, I stopped briefly at the reception, breathing in the air as memories came flooding back. The last time I was here, I was thrown out and ridiculed but today? No one would dare stand in my way.
“You wanted to know why I had told the sales representative that I would be meeting with the board members today didn't you?” I asked Delilah as we made our way further into the company.
“Yes ma'am. “ she replied, promptly.
“Watch and learn Delilah, because someday you'll be in the position of power and trust me, this will come in handy.” I informed her.
I waved at Phillip, the sales representative and he ran up to me, bowing respectfully.
“This way ma'am, the rest of the board members are awaiting you ma'am.” He informed me, gently motioning with his hands that we should follow him.
I knew every inch of the place like the back of my palm and the scent of nostalgia hit me. He led us to the board room and gently opened the door.
“ The Alpha is announcing your presence as we speak.” Philip, intoned, motioning for me to come inside.
I smirked. Inhaled sharply and held my head up high, walking with pride and dignity. The Alpha had his back turned against me, I could see his face but he couldn't see me, at least not yet.
“Ladies and gentleman, member of the board, I present to you, the highest shareholder of the company and new CEO, Miss Amelia!”
I was received with a standing ovation and a round of applause, which I acknowledged with a lazy wave of my hands.
“Thank you.” I said, politely then turned to face the Alpha. “Its good to be back, dont you think, Alpha Alan?”
Alan's head immediately snapped towards my direction and the look on his face change from horror to shock, fear, disbelief, bewilderment and finally stupefication.
I stood right there, soaking it all in and enjoying every bit of it. I had a dream to this moment, when I'll snatch everything he ever cared about from him, leaving him bare and defenseless. He'd feel the shame, horror and misery I felt when he snatched my whole world away from me, karma isn't a bitch, I'm the real bitch.
“Y-you?” He gasped.
“Yes, me.” I admitted, cocking my hips arrogantly, enjoying every moment of his destruction.
He staggered two steps backwards, not wanting to believe his eyes and the rest if the board was equally surprised, someone recognized me, while.others didn't.
“Hello everyone, I'm Sheila, and I'm the new CEO of this company, I look forward to us working together.” I announced, boldly.
