Chapter 383 She Is Pregnant Again
Chapter 383 She Is Pregnant Again
"I know you're confident, but there's really no need to be this confident." Coralie smiled. "If I wanted to use tricks to get your attention, I wouldn't have waited until now."
Back when Caspian wouldn't even look at her, Mason was the one who was most anxious.
Mason even hired someone to teach her how to show off her charm and attract men.
That person was like a teacher from a socialite training class, truly charming, even her walk was full of allure.
But Coralie couldn't learn it, and didn't want to.
She always felt that sincerity was what mattered most.
As long as she kept treating Caspian well, someday she'd get something back.
Even if it was just one in ten thousand.
But now she understood—she was completely wrong.
No matter how much sincerity and love she gave, she couldn't get even a little response from Caspian.
"You don't have enough tricks?" Caspian mocked. "Without tricks, did I drag you into my bed?"
Coralie smiled bitterly. "Caspian, whether you believe it or not, I really didn't know about what happened back then."
"Even though I had feelings for you, I would never use that kind of method to make you take responsibility. But since my dad did it, however you want me to repay you, I'll accept it."
"You repay me?" Caspian laughed coldly. "Can you afford to? Don't tell me you think giving birth to Qiana was paying off the debt?"
"I never thought that." Coralie looked at him seriously. "I had Qiana for myself, it has nothing to do with you. I never felt like I was having a child for you."
"But Caspian, I've been by your side taking care of you all these years—that counts as partial repayment, right? Now things between us are completely over. I don't want any more entanglement with you."
"From now on, our only connection is Qiana. We're just Qiana's parents, and between us, there's no relationship anymore."
In the past, hearing these words would have made Caspian feel relieved.
But for some reason, hearing this now, not only did he not feel the relief he'd imagined, it was like a huge stone was blocking his chest, making it hard to breathe.
"Coralie, since when do you have the right to call the shots with me? How come I didn't know?" Caspian sneered. "Between us, you think you can start when you want and end when you want?"
Coralie nodded. "I really don't have the right to say what I just said. Even if we separate, it's you dumping me. Mr. Romanov, you can rest assured—not many people know about our relationship anyway, and I won't announce it publicly. Even for those who know, I'll explain to them that you're the one who doesn't want me. Is that okay?"
Caspian actually laughed in anger. "Good, you've really grown capable, even giving me advice now. Too bad I'm not accepting it."
Coralie just felt a headache coming on. "Then what do you want? I'll definitely cooperate fully."
"Before, when I told you to pack up and get lost, you didn't leave. Now that you have Qiana, knowing I'll miss her, you're putting on this act about leaving. And you say you're not playing games?" Caspian's eyes narrowed. "You like playing games, don't you? You're doing all this just to seduce me, right? Fine, I'll give you what you want."
Coralie's heart sank. "What do you mean?"
Caspian moved closer, backing her into a corner. "Come to think of it, it's been a long time since we had sex in the car."
A dull thunder seemed to explode in Coralie's mind! "Caspian, I'm not playing games, and I'm not trying to seduce you!"
Caspian smiled, his calloused fingertips lightly brushing across her cheek, sending tingles through her. "Do you even believe that kind of self-deception?"
Coralie's heart was pounding. "If you keep this up, I'll call for help!"
He was fearless. "You think anyone would dare open my car door?"
Coralie wanted to let go, but at this moment, her heart still felt like it was being cut by knives. "Caspian, in your eyes, I'm just something to use in bed, right? So you only think of me when you want sex. Any other time, even if I was kidnapped and my life was in danger, you never thought about saving me, right?"
Caspian had a sudden realization. "So you're throwing a tantrum because I didn't come save you?"
"Mr. Romanov can rest assured, I know my place. I know I mean nothing to you, so naturally I have no right to throw tantrums." Coralie held back her tears, trying to make herself smile calmly. "Even if I'm angry, I'm only angry at myself. I'm angry that I couldn't let you go sooner. All these years, I made you unhappy, and I wasn't happy either. It was a huge mistake."
"What's the point of saying all this now?" Caspian felt like there was a breath stuck in his chest, unable to go up or down. "I'll say it again—some things, you started them, but you don't get to say when they end. Even if you're just something to use in bed, I'll throw you away when I'm tired of you!"
Endless humiliation swept through all of Coralie's nerves.
She was shaking with anger, and without thinking, she raised her hand and swung it at Caspian's face!
A slap landed hard on Caspian's face!
The pain in her palm jolted Coralie back to her senses.
Looking at that handsome, cold face in front of her, she didn't know how to react for a moment.
In front of Caspian, she had always been humble to the point of dust. Forget hitting him—she didn't even dare say a harsh word.
Caspian was clearly stunned too, but instead of getting angry, he laughed. "Coralie, you've gotten bold, haven't you?"
"I..." Coralie was about to apologize when the next second, her lips were kissed, all her words blocked in her throat.
When Coralie snapped out of her daze, she immediately tried to break free.
But Caspian clearly wasn't planning to give her a chance to escape. He easily controlled both her hands, while his other hand reached into her skirt, his movements far from gentle.
Coralie's whole body was trembling.
Cloud Bay was an upscale community. Though there were few houses, the occupancy rate was high, and people would still pass by.
Even if no one saw, when she went in disheveled later, Harriet would definitely guess what happened!
She had just said she was letting go of Caspian, and then immediately had sex with him—what would that make her?
And she really had decided to let him go. She absolutely couldn't continue being his bed toy!
Unable to break free, Coralie could only steel herself and bite down hard.
The taste of rust spread between their entangled lips and teeth.
Caspian winced in pain and finally left Coralie's lips.
Blood stained the corner of his mouth, like a vampire from centuries past, as if he might bite into Coralie's neck at any moment.
Coralie wanted to say something, but her stomach suddenly started churning.
Before she could react, she turned her head and threw up all over the floor.
Caspian frowned, completely losing interest. He let go of her and sat up properly.
He methodically straightened his white shirt, looking refined and dignified.
In contrast, Coralie was disheveled, pale-faced, gasping for air like she couldn't breathe.
Caspian raised his hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, turned his head, and looked at her with disgust. "Coralie, you really know how to kill the mood."
With that, he opened the car door and got out.
Coralie tugged at the corner of her mouth. She had thrown up in this car—Caspian wouldn't want it anymore.
That was fine. At least tonight, she had refused him for the first time ever.
This was also the first step in letting him go, and she had done it.
Coralie sat up and straightened her clothes. After collecting herself, she opened the door and got out.
She called over a security guard and tried to transfer him a thousand dollars, asking him to help drive the car to get it cleaned.
"Ms. Walker, this small task is something I should do. You don't need to pay me."
Coralie felt a bit embarrassed. "I threw up in the car. The smell is bad."
"That's nothing, I won't mind." The guard smiled. "If I really took your money, Mrs. Lancaster would definitely blame me if she found out."
"Then I'll trouble you."
"You're welcome."
Coralie watched the guard drive the car away before going inside.
Harriet was playing with Qiana in the room. Coralie didn't go find them and went straight back to her room on the third floor.
She brushed her teeth and looked at her pale face in the mirror, feeling curious.
Her stomach had always been fine, and the food she ate today was all made at home—definitely clean.
So why did she suddenly throw up?
Coralie washed her face. Just as she was about to go downstairs to find Qiana, she suddenly remembered something. Her steps halted, and her face in the mirror became even paler.
She quickly took out her phone and called Harriet.
"Coralie?"
"Harriet, can you come to my room?" Coralie said frantically. "Come alone."
"Right away."
Harriet rushed over. "What's wrong? Why do you look so terrible? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Coralie's voice trembled. "Harriet, can you check my body for me?"
"Of course."
The two sat down on the sofa, and Harriet took her hand to examine her.
Before long, Harriet's eyes widened, staring at Coralie in disbelief.
Coralie smiled bitterly. "I guessed right, didn't I?"
Harriet asked, "How did this happen?"
"The night before I left Emberfall, Caspian came back." Coralie's mind was in chaos. "At first we used protection, but the last two times, we ran out of condoms, so..."
Harriet frowned. "It's only been a short time since you gave birth to Qiana. Your body hasn't fully recovered yet. Getting pregnant now is very bad for your health."
"I didn't think I would get pregnant!" Coralie cried out anxiously. "I had made up my mind to leave him—why would I think about getting pregnant? I really didn't expect that just one night would be enough."
"So what are you planning to do now?"
"I don't know." Coralie shook her head. "Harriet, my mind is a mess."
"Don't think too much for now. Calm down first." Harriet gently patted her back. "Don't worry, with me and my godmother here, we'll definitely help you take care of your health."
"Okay."
"You just got pregnant, and you were frightened yesterday. You need to rest well." Harriet said, "Qiana has a nanny to help take care of her. Try to hold her as little as possible."
"I understand." Coralie suddenly remembered something. "Harriet, don't tell Caspian about my pregnancy, okay?"
Harriet didn't respond immediately. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Normally I should agree, but Coralie, you need to know that the child in your belly isn't just yours. Caspian is the child's father—he has the right to know. As for how you two decide, you must sit down and discuss it properly when you're both calm. I won't interfere."
Coralie nodded. "I understand what you mean, but it's very hard for me to calm down right now, so I want to take some time first."
"Okay." Harriet agreed readily. "Don't worry, I won't mention this to Caspian until you've calmed down. Besides, it would be better if you told him yourself."
"Thank you, Harriet."
"It's what I should do."
Harriet didn't say much more and soon went downstairs to bring Qiana up.
Seeing Qiana made Coralie feel much better, but she still couldn't calm down for a long time.
The next morning, Harriet went out to a deep mountain area near Emberfall.
There was a village there with only elderly people—the young people had all gone out to work. It was very quiet.
Harriet came to a house, and a guard soon came out to open the door. "Mrs. Lancaster, you're here."
"Is Ms. Rodriguez in?"
"Yes, please come in."
Harriet entered the house, and Helena came out to greet her. "Mrs. Lancaster."
"Ms. Rodriguez, are you getting used to it here?"
"Yes, the conditions here are much better than in my hometown." Helena said, "I've already been up the mountain to look around. There are quite a few poisonous creatures here—suitable for creating detoxification spells."
"Then settle in here. My guards will stay to protect you, and I've also taken care of the villagers—they won't disturb you."
"Good."
"Ms. Rodriguez, thank you for cooperating that night."
"It's what I should do. Besides, I didn't really do anything—just pretended to escape."
"Either way, you were still in danger that night."
"Of course I knew you could guarantee my safety, which is why I dared to cooperate." Helena smiled. "Mrs. Lancaster, you're a good person. I'm honored to be able to help you."
Harriet nodded. "Thank you."
Harriet stayed for dinner. She consulted Helena about parts of the medical texts she didn't understand, and only returned to Emberfall after dinner.
As soon as she reached her front door, she saw a white sports car parked there, with a figure leaning against it smoking.
Harriet got out of the car and walked over. "Caspian, why didn't you go in?"
"Didn't want to." Caspian blew out a smoke ring. "Is Qiana okay?"
"With Coralie there, of course she's fine."
"That's good." Caspian smiled. "I didn't have much feeling for my daughter before. I just thought I could afford to raise one more child, so it didn't matter if she was born. I didn't expect that after taking care of her myself for a few days, I'd develop feelings for her. I actually miss her."
"Men generally prefer daughters. Just look at Tristan." Harriet smiled. "But Caspian, is Qiana really the only one you miss?"
"I miss Della too." Caspian said without hesitation. "In my heart, Della is just as important as Qiana."
"I'm not talking about Della." Harriet was direct. "I'm talking about Coralie."
