Chapter 273 Now You Are Still My Wife

Chapter 273 Now You Are Still My Wife

Finnegan paused mid-step.

Harriet spun around, hearin' footsteps, and her gorgeous face lit up with a mysterious smile. "Haven't seen you in ages."
Finnegan strode forward with his long legs. "Harriet, it has been a while."

"Mr. Savoy."

"You've always called me by my first name. Why so formal all of a sudden?"

Harriet folded her arms, smilin'. "Let's keep it formal. Mr. Savoy didn't exactly consider me a friend, either."
"What are you talking about?" Finnegan looked innocent. "When did I not consider you a friend?"

"Three years ago, I gave you the signed divorce papers and asked you to handle the follow-up. Where exactly did you handle it?" Harriet questioned. "If you really considered me a friend, you wouldn't have screwed me over like that."

Finnegan was speechless. "Harriet, I didn't dare go to your hospital room just now because I was afraid you'd bring this up."

"I'm sorry, I really didn't handle those divorce papers for you."

"Actually, I can't really blame you." Harriet looked at him. "Because it's obvious that Tristan wouldn't let you."

"Yes, Tristan got the divorce papers back immediately and tore them up on the spot."

"Harriet, these past few years have been really hard for Tristan."

"He thought you really had amnesia and didn't dare look for you. He could only secretly send people to protect you."

"The day he found out you had a child with Nolan, he nearly broke down. After getting completely drunk, he kept crying and asking why you didn't want him anymore."

Tears instantly welled up in Harriet's eyes.

She quickly turned her head away, not letting Finnegan see her losing control.

"Harriet." After making sure no one was around, Finnegan lowered his voice. "About what happened to your godmother, Tristan has been blaming himself terribly. All these years, he's been secretly investigating."

Harriet sniffled. "You know about it?"

"Don't worry. My relationship with Tristan is even closer than his with Xavier. I won't betray you. Some things he can't do conveniently, so I handle them for him. That's why we've always been completely open with each other."

Harriet nodded. "I trust you."

"Harriet, although I have to help Tristan when it comes to you two, I genuinely consider you a friend." Finnegan said sincerely. "If he does anything to hurt you, I won't allow it."

"Not necessarily." Harriet smiled. "Quinlan is also a friend you've known for years. If Tristan wants to sue her, there's no way you won't sue. I'm past the age of believing whatever people tell me. Besides, you really did deceive me."

Finnegan fell silent.

Turns out Harriet really holds grudges.

But with the divorce matter, he was indeed the one who acted dishonorably first. He couldn't blame Harriet.

Just as the atmosphere was getting awkward, Tristan suddenly opened the door and came out, walking up to them. "Why are you still here?"

Finnegan went with the flow. "Harriet, I'll go now. When Della feels better, I'll come visit her."

Harriet nodded. "Okay."

Finnegan got into the elevator, and Harriet turned to go back to the hospital room, but Tristan grabbed her arm.

"Harriet." Tristan chuckled softly. "You were just settling accounts with Finnegan about the divorce, weren't you?"

Harriet pressed her lips together and said nothing.

Tristan raised his hand to touch her cheek. "I was the one who tore up the divorce papers. It has nothing to do with him."

Only then did Harriet look up and glare at him. "Are you very proud of yourself?"

"Pretty proud, actually." Amusement spread through Tristan's eyes, his deep voice gentle and pleasant, with a hint of seduction. "Because right now, you're still my wife."

Harriet couldn't be bothered to talk to him and pushed at his hand.

But the next second, Tristan gripped even tighter.

"Let go." Harriet said sullenly. "Della's about to wake up."

Only then did Tristan release her and follow her into the hospital room.

Della had already woken up and was crying softly.

"What's wrong?" Harriet hurried forward to ask. "What happened?"

Niamh said, "Della says her leg hurts. I've already called for the doctor."

The doctor rushed over and after examining Della, said, "Della is too young. Her tolerance isn't like an adult's, and we're strictly controlling the painkillers. We really don't dare increase the dosage too much."

Tristan went to the side and took out his phone to make a call.

Nolan was heartbroken. "Harriet, is there another way to relieve Della's pain?"

Harriet shook her head. "Della's major artery was injured. If we use other methods, they wouldn't be suitable."

Niamh was both angry and heartbroken. "It's all because of that damned Quinlan raising such a son!"

"There's no point saying this now." Nolan held Della's hand. "As long as Della can get better, nothing else matters. I'm willing to do anything."

Tristan hung up the phone and came back, looking at the doctor nearby. "The medical team is researching painkillers for Della, but progress is slow. Just now my people said a new painkiller with minimal side effects came out abroad. Is this true?"

"I was just about to report this to Mr. Lancaster." The doctor nodded. "I just learned that a medical company under the Romanov family just developed a painkiller with good effects and minimal side effects, but it hasn't been officially put into use yet."

"If we get it, how soon can it be used on Della?"

"Since it's for a child, we naturally need to be more careful. After getting it, we need to run experiments to confirm the effects. Under normal circumstances, we can give it to Della within three days."

Tristan turned to look at Harriet. "I'll have someone contact the Romanov family right now. Whatever conditions they set, I can agree to them."

What Harriet didn't expect was that the next day, she received a call from Caspian asking to meet her alone.

After thinking for a moment, Harriet agreed.

Della had already fallen asleep, and Nolan was keeping watch in the hospital room.

Harriet gave him a few instructions before leaving the hospital.

Harriet chose the location, a high-end club next to the hospital.

When Harriet arrived, Caspian was already there.

The tall and noble Caspian sat on the sofa in the private room, like a spirited prince from royalty, his entire being flowing with innate nobility.

The female server pouring tea for him couldn't take her eyes off him and almost spilled the tea.

Harriet turned to the bodyguard behind her. "Wait for me at the door and order me a coffee."

The bodyguard was worried. "It could be dangerous for you to be alone with him."

"It's fine." Harriet smiled. "If Mr. Romanov wanted to make a move against me, he wouldn't be so blatant about it."

The bodyguard nodded. "Yes. If you need anything, call me immediately."

Harriet sat down across from Caspian. "Mr. Romanov, long time no see."

"Long time no see, Ms. Getty." Caspian looked at her with a smile. "I heard Ms. Getty forgot everything from the past, but from what I see now, that was just a rumor."

Harriet smiled. "I'm the one who killed your sister, so naturally I don't dare forget, in case you come to seek revenge."

Caspian took a sip of tea. "If I said this matter is already in the past, would Ms. Getty believe me?"

"Whether I believe you or not doesn't matter." Harriet looked at him. "Tristan's always been efficient. I assume he's already contacted Mr. Romanov?"

"I did receive Mr. Lancaster's call, and he explained the situation."

"So at this moment, Mr. Romanov holds the upper hand. I thought you'd be considering what you want right now. I didn't expect you to suddenly ask to meet me." Harriet asked directly, "What's Mr. Romanov's purpose? Feel free to speak plainly."

"To be honest, I came today to make a deal with Ms. Getty."
