Chapter 260 Harriet, You Can't Forget Me
After Harriet went to see Finnegan, it seemed to have no effect.
Tristan's attacks on the Johnson Group not only didn't decrease, but were actually getting worse.
Harriet just felt a headache coming on.
She didn't want to go see Tristan because of this. Since even Finnegan couldn't talk him out of it, that meant Tristan was dead set on it and wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted.
If she went to see him, it would only make things more tangled.
Harriet went about her daily routine, driving Chase to school on time every morning.
After Chase got out of the car, Harriet watched him enter the school.
Just as she was about to leave, the passenger door suddenly opened, and the next second, a distinguished and upright figure got into the car.
Harriet frowned, "Mr. Lancaster, what are you doing?"
"I was passing by and just happened to see you." Tristan fastened his seatbelt, "Since we're so fated to meet, I'll trouble Ms. Getty to drive me home."
Harriet was stunned, "Tristan, are you sick?"
"Yes." Tristan turned his head, looking at her with a half-smile, "So are you afraid that if I get upset and have an episode, I'll kill your beloved Nolan?"
Crazy!
Harriet started the engine with a cold face and drove Tristan to Cloud Bay, "We're here."
"Come in and help me change my bandages."
"You have a family doctor."
"He took the day off today."
"Tristan, what exactly do you want!" Harriet couldn't take it anymore.
"Change my bandages." Tristan opened the door and got out, "If Ms. Getty doesn't want to do it here, I don't mind going to the Johnson Mansion."
Harriet closed her eyes, grabbed the medical kit from the back seat, got out, and followed him into the villa.
The two sat down on the sofa, and Harriet helped him change his bandages.
"Harriet." Tristan called her name, "Do you love Nolan?"
Harriet was noncommittal, "We even have a child together, what do you think?"
"You can't possibly love him." Tristan smiled, "If you loved him, how could you bear to watch him work so hard and not come beg me to let him go?"
"Because the Johnson Group isn't the most important thing to us." Harriet said calmly, "What we want is for our family to be together."
Tristan caught the key point, "So you're with Nolan because of the child, not because of love, right?"
"Tristan." Harriet looked up at him, "I know you haven't lost your memory. I don't want to hurt you. Do you have to force me to spell it out so clearly?"
Tristan's heart stung, "That's right, I haven't lost my memory. That's exactly why I need to ask clearly."
"Ask what?"
"Ask why you're treating me this way." Tristan reached out and grabbed her arm, "You stayed secluded in your manor in Luminara City, working online most of the time, but I never thought you wouldn't let out a single word and would quietly give birth to a daughter for Nolan!"
"Harriet, how could you do this to me!"
Harriet frowned, "You've been following me?"
"It's protection." Tristan explained, "Too many things happened in Emberfall, Luminara City might not be safe. I just sent people to secretly protect you."
"Whatever." Harriet smiled indifferently, "Mr. Lancaster, we're already divorced. Who I sleep with, who I have a daughter with, has nothing to do with you."
"Really?" Tristan laughed coldly, dangerous vibes spreading in his eyes, "Looks like it's time to let you know whether we have anything to do with each other or not!"
Before Harriet could react, the handsome face in front of her suddenly enlarged, and Tristan leaned in and kissed her!
Harriet was caught off guard and pressed into the sofa by him.
This position made it even easier for him to kiss her.
Harriet struggled hard, her hands pounding on Tristan's shoulders, but to him it was like tickling, with no deterrent effect at all.
Perhaps finding her resistance annoying, Tristan controlled her wrists with one hand and pinned them above her head.
Harriet steeled herself and was about to bite down when Tristan, as if predicting it, left her lips.
Harriet's face was flushed red, "Tristan, you bastard!"
Tristan curved his lips, a wicked arc at the corner of his mouth, "I have even more bastard behaviors, and you really enjoyed my bastard behaviors too. You've lost your memory and forgotten everything, but I can help you remember well."
Harriet's eyes widened, her whole body trembling, even her voice carried a tremor, "Tristan, don't!"
But this trembling plea, falling on Tristan's ears, became an aphrodisiac!
Harriet shook even harder, "Tristan, you can't!"
Tears slid down from the corners of her eyes. Harriet's brain seemed to crash, unable to think at all.
Tristan kissed her deeply, wanting nothing more than to devour her completely.
Harriet, in his arms, went limp as water under his teasing, her skin taking on a shy pink glow.
Suddenly, heavy knocking came from outside the door.
"Daddy!" A childish crying voice came from outside, "Daddy open the door! Daddy don't abandon me! I want Daddy... Wilder wants Daddy..."
Harriet suddenly snapped awake!
Like a bucket of ice water poured over her burning head.
Harriet came to her senses as if from a dream, forcefully broke free from Tristan on top of her, and pushed him away.
Tristan hadn't expected anyone to knock on the door either. In a moment of distraction, she actually pushed him off, and he fell, sitting on the floor.
A slap landed heavily on his face.
Harriet gasped for breath, glaring at him coldly."Tristan, don't force me to hate you!"
Harriet straightened her dress and fled in panic.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Quinlan kneeling at the door with Wilder.
Wilder was crying hard, still calling for daddy.
Quinlan saw Harriet and was first stunned, then the next second, she saw her slightly swollen red lips, the flush on her face, and her messy hair.
She had kept herself pure for Tristan, never been with a man.
Back then, to get pregnant, she had even endured the pain of breaking her hymen herself.
But she wasn't completely clueless.
She didn't need to think hard to know what Harriet had just been through.
And the person who could be intimate with her here, who else could it be besides Tristan!
"Harriet!" Quinlan was so angry her teeth itched, "What are you doing here!"
Harriet looked at her coldly, "Instead of questioning me, you should control your child's father and tell him not to go into heat anytime, anywhere!"
Quinlan was so angry she felt dizzy, gritting her teeth, "You shameless woman, how dare you seduce Tristan!"
Harriet glanced at Wilder kneeling on the ground, "This isn't how you raise a child, and he shouldn't be used as your tool."
"My child with Tristan - is it your place to tell me what to do?" Quinlan stood up, "Mind your own business, don't act like you've never seen a man before, flirting everywhere!"
"The one who hasn't seen a man is you." Harriet tilted her head, lowering her voice, "Cousin."
Quinlan's eyes widened, looking at her in disbelief.
What did Harriet just call her?
Could it be that Harriet hadn't lost her memory either?
Harriet didn't bother with her anymore and got in her car to leave.
The white sports car drove out of Cloud Bay and stopped by the roadside.
Harriet's hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, and the tears that had been swirling in her eyes finally fell.
She hated herself, hated that her body had responded to Tristan's teasing.
If they had gone further today, what would that mean?
Harriet roughly wiped away the tears on her face and took out her phone to make a call.
"Nolan, let's get married."
