Chapter 127: Please Spare Me
Harriet was worried that Tristan would get bored staying at home, so after dinner she used taking Chase home as an excuse and asked him to drive.
Emberfall's winters were very cold, making outdoor activities difficult, so after dropping Chase off, the two of them drove around the city.
"Tristan, look!" Harriet pointed at the skyscraper ahead. "I heard this building is 150 stories tall, the tallest in Athenia. They say it's even higher than the clouds, and it won won a bunch of architecture awards right after completion."
"You like it?"
"Who wouldn't? If I get the chance, I'd love to go to the top floor and see what it feels like to have clouds beneath my feet. That must feel amazing." Harriet gossiped, "By the way, I heard through the grapevine that this skyscraper belongs to some foreign consortium, and they're about to set up operations in Emberfall."
"You're pretty well-informed."
Harriet took out her phone to photograph the skyscraper. "I'm Mr. Jones's apprentice now. He knows a lot of people. Who knows, maybe one day I'll even get to meet the owner."
Tristan raised an eyebrow. "Meet him for what? Planning to remarry?"
"What are you talking about?" Harriet laughed. "If I know him, I'd have a chance to go up and see it, right? Plus you're so capable, if there's a chance to collaborate, wouldn't that be great?"
Tristan nodded. "Sounds good."
Harriet felt relieved seeing he wasn't resistant.
Since he was open to collaboration, she could confidently have Finnegan make the introduction.
Finnegan moved quickly and called within a couple of days.
"The consortium's boss is already in Emberfall. Come to my law office tomorrow at 2 PM and I'll take you to meet him. But to avoid being too forward, only the two of us can go."
"Okay."
Harriet didn't tell Tristan about this. It was just an afternoon meeting anyway, and she could still get home in time to make dinner.
Early in the morning, Harriet sat at her vanity doing her makeup.
"Why are you suddenly wearing makeup today?" Tristan asked.
She usually just wore sunscreen and rarely put on makeup, but her bare face was already stunning enough.
Harriet brushed it off. "Just felt like it. What girl doesn't like looking pretty?"
Tristan smiled and bent down to kiss her hair. "Mrs. Lancaster is beautiful without makeup too."
Harriet smiled brightly. "Mr. Lancaster has good taste."
That afternoon, Harriet arrived at Finnegan's law office right on time.
She called him, and Finnegan came out quickly.
"Ms. Getty, this boss is pretty mysterious. He chooses the meeting location, and on the way there, our eyes will be covered with black cloth the whole time. I don't know if you mind." Finnegan said, "If you do mind, I can cancel the meeting now."
Harriet hesitated a bit, feeling somewhat concerned about safety.
But this concerned Tristan's future, and it was broad daylight, so she decided to take the chance.
"I'm fine with it."
"Alright then, let's go now."
They drove to an underground parking garage at a mall, got out, and walked to a van.
The door quickly opened, and a bodyguard in black got out, blindfolded them both with cloth strips, and then let them get in.
The car soon started moving. Because of the blindfold, Harriet had no idea where they were going.
"Ms. Getty is very bold," came Finnegan's voice. "Aren't you afraid this trip might be dangerous?"
Harriet smiled. "With Mr. Savoy here, it shouldn't be dangerous, right? After all, before I left, I told Mr. Jones I was going to see Mr. Savoy."
Finnegan chuckled softly. "Ms. Getty, you're putting a lot of pressure on me."
"Mr. Savoy is joking."
Harriet kept trying to listen to sounds outside to figure out where she was being taken.
But whether it was because the van's soundproofing was too good, or they'd already left the noisy city center, she couldn't hear any outside sounds clearly.
After what felt like forever, the car finally stopped.
They were led out of the car, but the blindfolds weren't removed.
Someone suddenly grabbed her arm, and a woman's voice said, "Please follow me, you two."
"Ms. Getty, don't be nervous."
Hearing Finnegan's voice, Harriet felt a bit more at ease.
She was soon led into an elevator.
Harriet figured this must be a very tall building, because the elevator ride up was exceptionally long.
With a soft sound, the elevator doors finally opened.
Harriet was led out of the elevator, walked for a bit, then stopped.
"Are we here?" Harriet asked.
"Please sit and wait a moment, you two."
The woman helped Harriet sit down, then released her arm.
Harriet spoke up. "Can we take off the blindfolds now?"
"Ms. Getty, please wait. You can only remove them when the boss arrives."
"Okay."
After a moment, Harriet heard footsteps.
She sat quietly, thinking the person would let her remove the blindfold.
But the next second, a force suddenly gripped her shoulders and pushed her backward!
Caught off guard, Harriet fell back flat, and a strong body pressed down on her. A crisp masculine scent hit her face!
Only then did Harriet realize she wasn't sitting on a sofa, but on a bed!
Harriet cried out and immediately struggled with all her might!
But the person was incredibly strong, grabbing her wrists and pulling them upward.
Harriet felt her wrists being firmly bound by something leather.
"What are you doing? Help! Mr. Savoy! Mr. Savoy, save me!"
There was no sound from Finnegan, and her other wrist was also restrained.
Right now, Harriet was like a fish on a chopping board, completely at someone's mercy!
Overwhelming fear flooded all her nerves. Harriet kicked and struggled, trying to push off the man on top of her, while crying and begging, "Please let me go... I'm begging you..."
The person on top of her remained unmoved and grabbed her ankles.
"What do you want to do? Don't touch me!"
Harriet's feet were also spread apart and bound. She could imagine what humiliating position she was fixed in on the bed, and what the person planned to do next.
And Finnegan, who came with her, was nowhere to be found.
Harriet didn't even know if he'd been knocked out and restrained, or if he was in on it with this man!
Harriet pleaded desperately, "I'm begging you to let me go. I'm already married, I'm Tristan's wife! If you touch me, he'll definitely come after you! Please! As long as you let me go, I'll do anything you want!"
The person still didn't make a sound.
And soon he leaned down and started unbuttoning her clothes.
Harriet struggled frantically, but with her hands and feet firmly bound, there was no way to resist.
"No!" Harriet sobbed hysterically, "If you dare touch me, I'll kill you!"
The man remained unmoved.
Harriet frowned in pain, her brain buzzing. The next second, she screamed at the top of her lungs, "I'll kill you! Bastard! I'll definitely kill you!"
The next second, the blindfold was finally removed from Harriet's face. Her eyes instinctively squinted at the sudden exposure to light.
"Harriet, it's me!"
A familiar voice reached her ears. Harriet slowly opened her eyes, and through her tears, a flawlessly handsome face appeared before her.
Harriet was completely stunned. "Tristan?"
"It's me." Tristan kissed the corner of her lips. "Don't be afraid, it's me."
When Harriet recovered from her post-traumatic emotions, tears poured out. "You scared me to death!"
Tristan wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. "Don't be afraid."
"You scared me to death!" Harriet cried. "Untie me quickly!"
"No rush." Tristan chuckled softly. "This is pretty nice."
Harriet's brain was blank, unable to think at all.
When she belatedly remembered something, "You... how could you... you didn't take some kind of special drug to force yourself, did you? You can't do that! Those drugs are really harmful to your body!"
There was an illegal drug on the market that was indeed effective for men with sexual dysfunction, but it caused extreme damage to the body. Taking too much could even kill someone in bed.
To her, having a sex life wasn't important. She just wanted Tristan to be safe and healthy, and for them to grow old together.
It seemed Tristan had taken the drug to please her.
After it was over, Harriet lay exhausted on the bed, without even the strength to lift her hand.
Tristan unfastened the leather restraints on her hands and feet.
Harriet had struggled fiercely earlier, but fortunately the leather was soft so she wasn't injured.
Before Harriet could catch her breath, Tristan scooped her up from the bed and carried her in his arms.
Harriet opened her eyes. "What are you doing!"
Tristan didn't answer, just carried her straight to the floor-to-ceiling window.
Harriet turned to look and her eyes widened immediately.
Outside the window were snow-white clouds. Right now they were actually above the clouds.
"So beautiful!" Harriet exclaimed. "Tristan, is this that newly built skyscraper?"
"Yes. Didn't you want to come here?"
"It's really beautiful, this is the most gorgeous view I've ever seen!"
Tristan chuckled softly and bent down to kiss her earlobe.
Harriet trembled violently.
It seemed the drug was indeed very effective!
No matter what, she would never let him take such drugs again!
