Chapter 315 Sweet Nothings Come One After Another

Chapter 315 Sweet Nothings Come One After Another

Ambrose squeezed Scarlett's hand and asked tactfully, "What do you want me to do?"

Scarlett looked up at him. Since when did he understand what she meant after just one sentence?

She leaned closer to him, tilted her head up, and said with a playful smile, "You'll do whatever I want?"

He raised his eyebrows, his meaning crystal clear.

In that moment, all of Scarlett's earlier annoyance vanished without a trace. She actually understood perfectly well why Felicity had suddenly come out and said those things - it was nothing more than to draw everyone's attention to how alike they looked, and that Ambrose owed her a favor too.

She wanted to get that role from Director Nash!

She had turned down Nash's invitation, and Felicity immediately stepped forward. Was she trying to make Nash settle for her as second choice?

Scarlett pressed her lips together as she looked at Ambrose, lost in thought.

"Felicity probably wants the role, so she deliberately put on that little show just now." Scarlett paused for two seconds. "I don't want her taking advantage of me like that."

Ambrose thought for a moment, then looked up at Xander in the driver's seat. Chase had something to do today, so Xander was driving.

"Xander, look into that director's recent situation."

"Okay."

After hearing him give the order, Scarlett felt a bit smug, but also thought this might not be quite right.

"Ambrose, do you think I'm being petty?"

Ambrose looked at her with cold eyes, but his hand affectionately pinched her cheek. "I like your pettiness."

Scarlett felt the joy of being cherished and happily leaned over to kiss the corner of his lips.

"You're going to spoil me rotten."

The corners of his lips curved up. "The more rotten the better. That way, no one but me will be able to handle you."

Ambrose was really coming out with sweet talk one after another now. Scarlett felt like she couldn't keep up. She threw herself onto him and asked in a mock-fierce tone.

"You've gotten bad now, so good with sweet words. Who taught you?"

He held her body, smiled restrainedly, and kissed the corner of her lips. "Self-taught."

Scarlett didn't believe it. He must have learned from someone.

"Why don't we make our relationship public!" Ambrose suddenly suggested. He could see her insecurity.

Scarlett frowned. "Didn't we already make it public?"

She remembered - the incident of him posting that cryptic message was still fresh in her mind.

"That was just confirming our boyfriend-girlfriend relationship within the industry. This time, I'll use my private account to announce our relationship on social media. The meaning is different."

Scarlett looked at him in silence for a few seconds, then said, "Ambrose, I think right now, we should both keep a low profile. Let's wait until the Indigo and the Reynolds family matters are all settled, then we can announce our relationship. That would be better for you and the Boleyn Group."

After listening, Ambrose nodded thoughtfully.

"That works too. Whatever you prefer."

Actually, Ambrose knew that given the current situation, it really wasn't appropriate to be high-profile, especially since he had just sent Gage to prison. Outsiders were all saying he was ruthless and cruel, and the Boleyn Group's stock had fluctuated a bit.

But he didn't want Felicity to affect Scarlett's mood, which was why he made the suggestion.

"If you don't want to see Felicity, I'll have someone get rid of her," Ambrose said.

Scarlett did mind, but she felt she couldn't decide someone's fate over something like this. That wasn't something she could do.

"Forget it, let's leave it for now. We'll deal with it if she doesn't behave."

Ambrose went along with her wishes and dropped the topic.

The two returned to the company. Scarlett went back to her office. Although she hadn't been to the company for a month, she had still been following the project progress from home. The previous problem had already been resolved.

Right now she didn't have any projects, making her the most idle person in the design department. But her team members needed projects. After thinking it over, she went to find Director Sable.

On her way to Sable's office, she ran into Cleo, who was carrying a water cup toward the break room.

"Your dark circles are pretty bad," Scarlett said as she walked, eyeing Cleo's dark circles.

"Haven't slept well for several nights, of course the dark circles are bad." Cleo looked like she had lost the will to live.

Cleo had really been swamped lately. Her team had taken on several projects, and she was in charge of one of the big ones. Recently, because of this project, she had worked overtime for several nights.

Cleo then asked about her leg, and Scarlett said it had healed.

The two stood chatting for a while and made plans to have lunch together tomorrow to catch up properly.

Walking into the director's office, Sable spoke in a calm tone and quickly told Scarlett to sit.

"What can I do for you?"

Scarlett sat down across from her. "Ms. Nelson, the art museum project is almost done. You can assign other projects to the members of my team."

Sable nodded thoughtfully. "I've been thinking about this too. After all, your team has quite a few members. I'll discuss it with Mr. Boleyn."

After saying that, she paused. "But if they take on projects, you'll need to help them."

"I can assist."

Scarlett really didn't want to take on projects herself. Sable understood what she meant.

"Alright, I'll mention it to Mr. Boleyn. But what are your plans?" Sable asked.

Scarlett smiled and didn't hide anything from Sable. "I'm planning to leave, but I haven't told Ambrose yet. Don't tell him first. I'll talk to him about it later."

Sable knew about their relationship and naturally understood the situation, so she nodded.

After Scarlett left, Sable reported the situation of Team Three, where Scarlett was, to Ambrose. Ambrose agreed to let Team Three members take on new projects.

As for Scarlett, he didn't mention her. If Scarlett didn't actively take on projects, it meant she didn't want to. If she wasn't taking any, she had other plans. As for what plans, he would ask her when he had time.

After hanging up the phone, he sent the evidence that Ulysses had provided to Vaughn and had him pass it to Orion.

As for the evidence at the dock, he sent Chase to get it. Scarlett had originally planned to go along to get it, but he didn't agree, afraid there would be danger.

Sure enough, news came from Chase that when getting the evidence, he was attacked by a group of people and got slightly injured.

Chase was ambushed - did this mean Ulysses had been exposed?

Ambrose immediately called Ulysses, but his phone was turned off.

This looked bad.

Ambrose immediately told Scarlett about this. When Scarlett found out, she also called Ulysses, and sure enough, his phone was off.

She guessed that Ulysses had been exposed.

Although Ulysses was from the Mitchell family, given Indigo's ruthless nature, he wouldn't easily let Ulysses go.

Ulysses might be in mortal danger.

Scarlett thought that Ulysses had ended up in this situation because he had helped her, and she couldn't just stand by and do nothing.

To save him now, they first needed to know his whereabouts. The only people who would know his whereabouts would be people from the Mitchell family, or people very close to the Mitchell family.

She thought there was someone who might be able to help her find out. She then dialed a number. After a few rings, the call connected.

"Scarlett, you're looking for me?"

Caspian's gentle voice came through. Scarlett acknowledged, then asked.

"Is now a good time to talk?"

Caspian replied, "Yes, go ahead."

Scarlett was silent for two seconds, then stated her purpose.

"Mr. Anderson, can you contact Ulysses right now?"

After a few seconds of silence over the line, she heard Caspian's low voice.

"Something's happened to Ulysses."
