Chapter 302 Deep and Sincere Confession

Chapter 302 Deep and Sincere Confession

Scarlett's watery eyes stared at Ambrose without blinking. He was actually bringing up old scores with her!

Back then, Wesley had been outstanding and free of the messy habits she now despises.”. He was wholeheartedly devoted to her. But Wesley had pursued her for a whole year before she finally agreed to be with him.

During that year, she examined him from every angle, feeling he was a promising prospect and a reliable person, so she accepted him.

Who knew he was hiding such wolfish ambitions?

"Maybe it was because, like me, he had clear plans for the future, and was devoted to me, without all those messy relationships around him."

After she finished speaking, Ambrose let out a cold snort. "Clear plans? That was a trick. Once he got you, he could save himself ten years of struggle. He didn't have messy relationships because he was poor—other girls weren't like you, willing to overlook material things."

His words were laced with jealousy.

Scarlett felt completely helpless. He was even jealous of this—petty, indeed.

Yet, thinking of how long he had liked her and all the things he had done in secret, she realized his words weren’t entirely unfounded.

Her eyes full of emotion, she brushed his face, tracing from his forehead downward, speaking as she traced.

"If you had appeared earlier, maybe Wesley wouldn't have succeeded."

Where her fingers passed, a tingling sensation rippled through him. Ambrose's mind wandered, and hearing her words, he lowered his head to kiss the corner of her lips.

"Back then, my reputation was terrible. If I had appeared, you probably wouldn't have looked at me either."

Only then did Scarlett realize she had been too judgmental. Rough appearances aren’t always bad, and upright ones aren’t always good.

But thinking about their fate together, she felt lucky.

She kissed him back. "Fortunately, we didn't miss each other."

Ambrose liked her response and deepened the kiss. "If I'd known you'd be this happy after finding out, I should have told you earlier."

He suddenly felt he had wasted so much time..

"It's not too late now. Ambrose, from now on, let's be good together. You can't hide things from me—I’ll fight beside you."

Her voice gave Ambrose not only tenderness but also strength.

Though strong, he was still human, not a god. He needed rest and someone to share the burden.

He was grateful that his persistence had finally been answered, and that Scarlett had become his steady support..

Above them, his deep eyes gazed at her with complete devotion.

"Sweetheart, I think loving you is the most right thing I've ever done."

This kind of heartfelt confession was the first Scarlett had ever received. Tears fell from her watery eyes without warning.

How should she respond to him? Overwhelmed, she leaned in and kissed him.

Ambrose kissed away the tears on her face one by one. At the end, she whispered into his ear, “Ambrose, I love you.” During this time, she had already fallen in love with him. but she was afraid she wasn’t good enough or that he was only temporarily attracted to her body. She kept thinking of pulling away to avoid being hurt again.

Who knew he truly loved her, and loved her so deeply.

Having endured one‑sided love before, she understood his feelings. She didn't want to lose him.

The next morning, Ambrose opened his eyes to find Scarlett beside him, his heart felt full. They were finally together.

And she loved him too.

He leaned over and kissed her lips. Scarlett opened her eyes, and their long morning kiss continued until they were both breathless.

"Do you want to sleep a bit more?"

Scarlett reached up, hugging his neck, saying in a sweet, coquettish voice, "Stay and sleep with me a bit longer."

"Sweetheart, don't tease me, or I won't need to go to work." His husky voice revealed intense desire.

Hearing this, Scarlett rolled away, teasingly out of reach.

Ambrose chuckled and reached out his long arm to pull her back into his embrace, kissing her lips again.

"You sleep nicely, I'm going to wash up."

After he left the bed, Scarlett stayed awake, thinking about his confession from the night before..

The children were fine, they were together—she imagined an even happier future..

Thinking this, she felt very sweet.

When Ambrose returned from the bathroom to the bedroom, he saw her looking dazed with a silly smile on her lips. He walked over and leaned down to kiss her again.

"Thinking about me?"

He asked. After hearing Scarlett’s confession, his heart was naturally sweet.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and replied, “I was thinking about you.” He paused, then leaned down to kiss her. "You can't seduce me, or I won't be able to go to the office."

Scarlett felt she was just being honest, and if he couldn't handle even this, he must really be crazy about her. She responded with a passionate kiss.

Their kiss was interrupted by a knock at the door..

"Mommy, Ambrose, are you up yet?"

Yara's sweet, childlike voice rang out at just the right time. They broke apart, and Ambrose sighed.

"Yara’s timing is terrible."

Hearing this, Scarlett laughed. She got out of bed and headed to the bathroom.

Ambrose opened the door. Standing there were Yara and Hayden, beaming at him. Yara said to Hayden,

"See, I told you Ambrose would be here. He didn't leave."

Earlier, the two little ones had gone to Ambrose's room first and didn't see him, worried that the two adults had fought again and Ambrose had left.

Ambrose felt guilty. their arguments had cast shadows over the kids..

"From now on, even if your mom kicks me out, I won't leave."

"Daddy, just don't make Scarlett angry, and she won't kick you out." Hayden was determined to put all the responsibility on Ambrose.

For the first time, Ambrose agreed. The blame was indeed his: the last time he lost his temper, he hurt Scarlett, which was why she still had psychological trauma now.

The children ran into the bedroom, eager to find Scarlett. They were clearly attached to her. Usually, Ambrose let them be close to her during the day, as long as they didn’t cling to her at night

After breakfast, Ambrose had to go to the office, and Scarlett also planned to go to work. The two children were naturally sent to school.

Scarlett worried that the Mitchell family might target the children. She felt a bit relieved after Ambrose assigned trustworthy bodyguards to protect them

A week later, a pile of work awaited Ambrose at the company. As soon as he arrived, Ryder briefed him on events that had occurred during his absence

"The higher-ups are sending people to investigate the Boleyn Group."

Ambrose naturally understood why this was suddenly happening. The Mitchell Family was trying to take this opportunity to put pressure on the Boleyn family. But the Mitchell Family would probably soon be in trouble themselves.
