Chapter 166 Mom Can Have Babies
Scarlett saw Ambrose walking over and thought he wanted to have sex again. She shook her head nervously, "I don't want to."
He walked up to her and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Rejecting me so quickly really hurts my feelings."
Thinking about how he helped her clean up the mess last night, Scarlett didn't push him away. She wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Ambrose, I have serious conflicts with the Mitchell family that can't be resolved. Hayden is just a child, I don't want to hurt him. And you—even though you and Octavia aren't together right now, who knows what'll happen in the future, right?"
"How about you and your son move back to the Boleyn family?" She took the opportunity to make her request.
Ambrose knew Scarlett was trying to push him away, but he wasn't worried about her running off now. Still, this clearly wasn't the right time to lay everything out. The Mitchell family situation was still unresolved, which meant danger for both Scarlett and the child.
What happened to her last night was a warning from the Mitchell family.
After thinking it over, he asked, "You want to kick me out so you can cut ties with me?"
Scarlett bit her lip. She'd still be working at the Boleyn Group, so it would be hard to completely cut ties unless she left—that would be the only way to make a clean break.
But for now, she didn't want to live together. Living together was basically like being in a relationship.
"If you want to have sex in the future, or if I want to have sex, we can do it. But we both have to be clean," she said.
Ambrose let out a soft laugh. "So you're treating me like a fuck buddy?"
Scarlett stayed silent, which was basically agreeing. He sighed helplessly, "What if I don't agree?"
She frowned. "If you don't agree, I'll be angry. Of course, there's nothing I can do about it—I can't really force you."
Ambrose lowered his head, pressing his forehead against hers. "Fine, I'll take Hayden and leave. But that doesn't mean we're cutting ties. I just don't want to make things harder for you."
Scarlett smiled when she heard him agree.
With that smile, he took the chance to kiss her, then kept moving toward the bed until he pushed her down onto it.
Since he'd agreed, Scarlett let him do as he pleased and kissed him back. As she responded, the atmosphere grew intimate again.
When Ambrose started undressing her, Scarlett snapped back to reality and quickly held his hands. "We just did it yesterday afternoon, and you want to do it again?"
"I'm moving out soon. Who knows when we'll get to do this again?" At those words, Scarlett's heart softened, and she let him continue.
Just as he was pressing down on her, a sweet childlike voice called out from the doorway, "Mommy, I'm home!"
Yara's clear, cheerful voice came from the hallway. Scarlett suddenly came to her senses. "Yara's back, get off me quick."
Ambrose was at a critical moment—he couldn't just stop. He didn't stop, instead going even harder, making Scarlett lose herself completely.
"Mommy!" The voice got clearer. Yara was at the door now. Scarlett's heart was about to jump out of her chest. If Yara burst in, how would she explain this?
"Mommy! Open the door!" Yara knocked on the door.
Ambrose then picked her up and carried her to the bathroom, locking the door behind them and continuing what he'd started. In the bathroom, he was wild like an animal, as if he wanted to devour Scarlett, until he was satisfied.
Outside, Yara couldn't get the door open no matter how hard she tried, so she just waited by the door.
"Hayden, why won't my mommy come out and open the door?"
"My dad's in there," Hayden answered with a mature expression.
Yara nodded. "Ambrose is in there too, but why won't they open the door if Ambrose is there? Don't they want us to come back?"
Suddenly, Yara remembered something she'd seen on TV. Her eyes went wide. "Are Ambrose and my mommy kissing? Kissing makes babies. No way, my mommy can't have a baby. She already has me."
Yara started banging on the door again with such force that it seemed like she might break it down.
"Ambrose, come out right now! You can't kiss my mommy!" Yara's voice was fierce despite sounding cute and childish.
Hayden reached over and pulled her hand away. "Stop banging. They'll come out soon. Let's go play in the living room!"
Yara refused, shaking her head. "I'm not going. My mommy's still in there!"
Then she stared at Hayden. "Do you think that if my mommy has a baby with your dad, you can live here?"
"You don't want me to live here?" Hayden asked.
Yara didn't know how to answer. She wanted Hayden to live there, but she was also worried about Scarlett being taken away.
She said awkwardly, "Hayden, you have so many people who love you. You have your dad, your mom, your great-grandpa, and lots of housekeepers and servants who take care of you. I only have my mommy, so my mommy can only take care of me. If she has to take care of you or other kids, she'll be too tired and won't have energy to take care of me."
"Last time you were sick, mommy ran to your house, and I couldn't even see her." Yara felt wronged.
Hayden looked sad and guilty. "But I don't like my mom. I think my mom isn't as good as Scarlett. I won't hog Scarlett. I just want to live with you guys. I don't need you to take care of me."
Yara hesitated, not sure what would be best.
While the two were arguing, the door opened. It was Ambrose, looking completely satisfied as he looked down at the two little ones.
"What are you two doing here?"
Yara looked up, a bit angry. "Ambrose, did you kiss my mommy?"
Ambrose paused, then smiled. "Yes."
Yara got upset and stamped her foot. "How could you kiss my mommy? That'll make her have a baby, and having a baby hurts, and then no one will take care of me."
Ambrose found it both funny and exasperating. Yara was so innocent and adorable, but he also felt sorry for her. She just felt so insecure.
He crouched down and picked her up. "That won't happen. If your mommy has a baby, I'll take care of you."
Scarlett, hearing Yara's words from inside the room, felt embarrassed and quickly came out to stop their conversation. "Yara, what are you talking about?"
Not having seen her for two days, Yara reached out for Scarlett as soon as she saw her. "Mommy! Mommy!"
Scarlett took her and held Yara's soft little body, kissing her cheek. Yara happily snuggled into her arms, acting cute. "Mommy, I missed you so much."
"Mommy missed you too."
The warm scene of mother and daughter being affectionate was touching and enviable. Hayden watched with envy in his eyes, pitifully holding onto the doorframe.
Ambrose looked down at him, seeing the longing in his eyes. He crouched down. "You want her to hold you too?"
Hayden glanced at Ambrose but didn't say anything. Ambrose reached out and patted his head. "I can make that happen."
Hayden's eyes lit up at this, silently asking how.
Ambrose walked over to Scarlett. "Yara, I missed you too. Let me hold you."
Yara pouted—they'd just hugged earlier—but still let Ambrose hold her. As he picked up Yara, he quietly said to Scarlett, "You hold Hayden."
Scarlett saw Hayden at the door, and her heart softened. She walked over and picked him up.
