Chapter 191 The End
Chapter 191 The End
We waited for a few more minutes in the office before gently heading downstairs. It seemed as though people had already noticed what was going on from the smoke that had erupted from the building, but we had already mapped out our plan, and this time we made sure not to make any mistakes and to be careful in everything.
Gently, we retrieved the diesel we had kept in the car for a long time and this time we made sure that the entire building was surrounded by it, and gently moving from one end to another, room by room, through every corner and corridor to ensure it touched every necessary spot. We completely ignored the onlookers trying to figure out what was happening.
Gently, we lit up the building. The fire enfolded the structure with sudden speed, filling the entire space. We stood by to make sure the whole building caught fire, waiting and watching. Raven’s fingers wrapped around my waist, pulling my head down to rest on his shoulder.
"I know you must be tired, darling," he said in the sweetest way I had ever heard, gently pecking my cheek.
The fire burned for several minutes before the entire building finally collapsed. Moving toward our car parked by the side, we gave one final stare at the ruins before driving off.
"Where are we off to now?" Siwoo asked, staring from Raven to me with a smile.
Raven didn't say anything at first; he just kept driving and smiling. "I will tell you all when we get there."
I turned to Siwoo, and she turned to me, both of us looking shocked. He kept driving for a few hours before pulling up to a massive building that looked like an estate filled with workers. As the car stopped, Raven turned to me, Siwoo, Eunwoo, and then Yoon before looking back at me. He smiled and pulled out a set of keys from his pocket, handing one to Siwoo, one to Eunwoo, and one to Yoon.
Finally, he turned to me. "This is for you, my wife."
We all looked at him in shock. Just then, the heavy giant gate opened, and five brand-new Rolls-Royces lined up together. Dumbfounded, we turned to Raven.
"What?" I asked, staring at him.
He smiled and pulled out another key. "It's still not done." He handed the extra keys to Siwoo, Yoon, and Eunwoo, then turned to me. "We will share one room."
I almost laughed as Yoon stared at her key in complete disbelief. "This house... whose is it?" she asked, looking at Raven.
"It's mine. I just bought it."
Siwoo rushed forward and hugged Raven, holding him tight before pulling back. "I think this is the time I say this, brother. Thank you for proving to me that you are the best, most wonderful brother. I have no regrets about having you as my brother. Thank you for never giving up on the search for your sister. Thank you for finding me. Thank you for everything, brother."
Raven wiped away the tears from his eyes as he looked at Siwoo, holding her hands firmly. "I am sorry for being away for so long. I am sorry for never seeing you, and I am sorry for everything, Siwoo. Thank you for being the only family I had. I promise you this: you will never regret not having a mother, for I will be your mother and everything to you."
Tears rushed down Siwoo's eyes before she could hold them back, and she embraced Raven in an even tighter hug. They held each other for a long time before he pulled away, turned to Eunwoo, and grabbed his hand.
"The last man standing," Raven said, smiling.
Eunwoo smiled back.
"I used to doubt that you would change and follow Sae Byeok," Raven admitted. "I thought I would never trust you fully, and I even found myself telling Jina not to trust you. But you proved to be the best. Right from when you saved me, you never wanted to kill me, even when I told you to. You protected me, Eunwoo. You saved my life over and over again. Thank you, Eunwoo. Thank you, brother. You will be my brother from now on, and I will do everything to make you happy."
Eunwoo held Raven's hand and pulled him into a tight hug. I stood by the side, watching with a heavy heart, barely keeping my tears from slipping.
Then Raven turned to Yoon, almost laughing before shaking his head. "Sae Byeok really used you well."
At the mention of that, uncontrollable laughter erupted among all of us. Yoon nudged Raven before he shook her hand.
"You made Jina realize she is great and that she had power," Raven said softly. "You always stood by her side even when everyone else left, and you stood by me right from my heaviest moments at Haneul Ridge. Tell me, what other kind of friend could I ask for when I have all of you by my side?"
Yoon hugged him tightly.
When Raven finished speaking to them, I gently turned to Eunwoo first and smiled at him as he smiled back.
"The smartest and bravest, yet always a bit cautious," I said softly. "Without you, Eunwoo, I would have lost it—my mind, my focus, everything. Even when the world turned its back on me, you always stood by my side and encouraged me. You are so brave, Eunwoo. Just know that from me."
Eunwoo smiled, keeping quiet as he gently pulled me into a warm hug before releasing me.
I turned to Yoon, and she immediately broke into a bright smile. I almost laughed, but caught myself.
"You are the absolute best, Yoon, and we made it," I said, holding her gaze. "Even when I first met you at Haneul, I thought you had come to deceive me. But despite all my pushing away, you still stood by me. Thank you, Yoon, for never giving up on me."
Yoon smiled and pulled me into a tight hug.
When we parted, I gently turned to Siwoo. I didn't say anything at first; instead, I reached out and pulled her into a deep embrace, holding her tightly for several minutes before stepping back.
"You are my life, Siwoo," I told her, my voice thick with emotion. "Without you and your intelligence, I wouldn't be breathing right now. You gave me a second chance at life, and I am forever indebted to you."
She smiled warmly. Before I could say another word, she pulled me into another hug.
"Thank you, Siwoo," I whispered against her shoulder in the middle of the embrace.
Raven shook his head gently, watching us with a soft smirk on his lips.
"I'm not done yet," he said, smiling as his eyes locked onto mine.
Gently, Raven turned to me, pulling me toward himself by my waist. His hand cupped my jaw, lifting my face toward his before placing his lips on mine for a long, quiet moment. We kissed passionately, our tongues brushing affectionately. When he gently released the kiss, he stared deep into my eyes.
"I have you, Jina. And mind you, you're going nowhere."
With that, he lifted me up, cradling me in his arms like a baby. I rested my head on his shoulder—the shoulder of the man who stood in for everything I had lost. He was the mother I lost in the long run of the war, and the father I lost too.
May their souls rest in peace, I whispered against his chest, listening to the steady heartbeat that meant everything to me.
My world.
My hope.
And my joy.
Raven Soo.
The End.
