Chapter 83 Opening party

Chapter 83 Opening party

Two whole weeks passed since the beach trip. The morning sun shone over the house. Aysel stood still in the hallway. Her feet pressed against the floor as she stared at the closed door of the yellow room. She felt her heart beating a slow, heavy rhythm in her chest.

She reached out with her shaking hand and turned the handle very slowly. Then she pushed the door wide open and stepped into the room.

The room was totally empty now, the tiny white crib was gone, and the baby blankets were put away. Ruan had instructed his guards to clear everything out while she slept. He wanted to spare her the sight of the sad things that made her cry.

Aysel walked right into the middle of the room. She wrapped her arms tightly around her waist and breathed in the air. She expected the heavy, crushing sadness to make her fall to her knees. But the tears did not come this time. Instead, she felt a gentle ache in her heart and realized she was finally starting to heal from losing her baby.

footsteps padded softly into the room right behind her. Two arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her back against a chest. A chin rested gently on top of her head.

"Why are you standing in here, my sweet love?" Ruan whispered softly. His deep voice rumbled against her back as he kissed her hair gently. "I told the men to empty the room so you wouldn’t feel sad. Did I do something wrong?"

"You did everything perfectly, Ruan," Aysel smiled. She turned around in his arms to look up into his eyes, resting her hands against his shirt. "I’m not crying today, i just came in here to think about our future."

Ruan frowned just a little, his thick eyebrows pulling together. His hands rubbed her back in slow, comforting circles. "What about our future, baby? Do you want to move to a brand new house? Do you want me to sell this island so we can forget all the bad memories?"

"No, I love our house," Aysel shook her head quickly, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "I want to stay right here with you. But I want to do something meaningful with my life. I don't want to just sit on the sofa and eat ice cream every single day while you work."

"You can do anything you want, Aysel," Ruan promised instantly. "Tell me what you need. I will make it happen right away."

"I want to turn this room into a real office," Aysel said bravely, feeling a spark of excitement light up inside her. "I want to start a big charity foundation, Ruan. I want to use some money to help other poor mothers who lost their sweet babies. I want to pay their hospital bills and give them a safe place to cry."

Ruan froze, staring at her face. A wave of pride washed over him as he realized how incredibly strong his wife was.

"You want to build a charity," Ruan breathed out, his voice cracking with emotion. He moved one hand up to gently cup her cheek, his thumb brushing against her skin. "You went through the worst pain in the world, and you just want to use your precious time to help others. You are a true angel, Aysel."

"Will you help me do it?" Aysel asked softly, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.

"I will give you a billion dollars to start it today if you want," Ruan vowed seriously. He kissed her lips deeply, pouring all his love into the kiss. "I will hire the best builders to make your office perfect. You are going to be the most amazing boss in the city."

Aysel threw her arms tightly around his neck, hugging him with everything she had. She felt completely free and alive, knowing Ruan was actually changing. He was not trying to lock her in a cage anymore, he was finally letting her fly.

Across the busy city, Kai sat at his kitchen island. He wore blue jeans and a white t-shirt, typing quickly on his laptop. He was trying to build his brand new business from scratch.

A burning smell suddenly floated from the kitchen oven, making Kai stop typing. His eyes widened with panic as he jumped off his stool.

"Mina!" Kai yelled, running toward the smoking oven. He pulled open the door and waved his hands to clear the smoke. "I think something is dying inside the stove again!"

Mina ran into the kitchen, holding a red towel. She coughed loudly as she bumped into his back.

"Oh no, my perfect chocolate chip cookies!" Mina cried out. She grabbed a thick oven mitt and pulled a hot, black tray out of the smoking oven, dropping it onto the counter with a loud clatter.

Kai looked at the tray and saw twelve black, hard cookies sitting on the pan. They looked nothing like sweet cookies at all.

"They look very crunchy," Kai said with a teasing smile, trying not to laugh. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. "You are definitely the most dangerous cook in the city, my sweet girl."

"Stop making fun of me! I tried really hard to follow the recipe," Mina pouted. She crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at the burned cookies and feeling embarrassed.

Kai didn't say another word. He reached out, picked up one of the cookies, and bit into the burnt edge with a crunch. He chewed very slowly while keeping a straight face.

"Kai, spit that out right now! It’s just hot coal!" Mina gasped, hitting his arm, her eyes widened with shock.

"It’s delicious," Kai lied smoothly, swallowing the cookie with a hard gulp. He pulled her into his chest and kissed her forehead softly. "I will happily eat your burned rocks every day for the rest of my life, Mina, as long as you promise to stay in my kitchen forever."

Mina felt a blush creep up her cheeks. Her heart did a happy flip as she wrapped her arms around his waist, hiding her smiling face against his shirt.

"You are a crazy, stupid man with plenty money ," Mina giggled softly into his chest.

"I am your crazy billionaire," Kai murmured. He rubbed his hands up and down her back, resting his chin on top of her head, feeling perfectly happy just standing in a smoky kitchen with the girl of his dreams.

A few short weeks flew by quickly, and Aysel's new charity foundation was officially open. The building stood in the middle of the city.

Tonight was the big opening party. The hall was decorated with hundreds of beautiful white roses, soft music playing quietly in the background. Expensive food sat on tables, waiting for the guests to arrive.

Aysel stood near the front doors, wearing a gorgeous, simple white dress that hugged her curves perfectly. Her hair fell softly over her shoulders. She felt a little nervous but mostly very proud of herself.

Ruan stood beside her, wearing a suit. He held her hand tightly. His eyes looked at her with admiration.

"You look absolutely breathtaking, Mrs. Sinclair," Ruan whispered, leaning down to kiss her cheek softly. He ignored all the wealthy business partners walking past them. "Every person in this room is staring at you."

"I’m just glad you are standing here with me," Aysel smiled up at him, squeezing his hand back as she watched Mina and Kai walk in.
They seemed so happy and in love.

The charity party was a huge success, with people donating millions to Aysel's new foundation. They applauded loudly when she stood on the stage, delivering a heartfelt speech about healing. Ruan watched her from the front row, proud tears shimmering in his eyes.

When the long night finally ended, Ruan drove them back to their island. They walked hand in hand through the doors feeling exhausted but truly happy.

"I need to take off my heels, my feet are killing me," Aysel laughed softly. She let go of Ruan's warm hand and slowly walked toward the sofa in the living room, feeling like she could sleep for a whole year.

"I'll get you some warm water, baby," Ruan smiled, taking off his jacket and tossing it over a chair. He headed straight for his office to grab his ringing phone from the desk.

Aysel sank onto the sofa, rubbing her tired eyes. She smiled genuinely, feeling like her life was finally back on track.

Suddenly, Ruan stopped in the doorway of his office. His shoulders tensed, and his breathing came to a halt, his eyes were fixed on his desk.

"Ruan?" Aysel called softly, frowning slightly. She noticed how still he was and felt a chill of fear creeping up her neck. "What’s wrong, baby?"

Ruan didn’t answer, he took a slow step toward his desk, looking down at the surface. His blood felt like ice.

In the center of his desk, sat a tiny hand-knitted pair of yellow baby socks.
