Chapter 7 Her Medicine
Brandon was taken aback.
He didn't even use much force, yet she fainted?
Was she pretending?
Well, whether she was pretending or not, he had to deal with what was inside her stomach. She couldn't use any excuses to get away. "Take her back," he ordered in a cold, hard voice.
Victoria slowly woke up from the bed, feeling dizzy and disoriented. But when she saw the room she had been staying in for the past few days instead of the small inn she had originally been in, she became more alert. She lifted her head and saw Brandon's perfect profile standing beside her, watching her. Victoria was startled and instinctively shrank back a step.
"Don't kill me, I really know I was wrong," she said.
Her small face was pale and lifeless. Feeling sluggish, she realized she might have caught a cold.
"I'm asking you, how many times did you do it?" Brandon asked, his teeth clenching as he mentioned the incident. Victoria clenched the blanket with her hand. "Just once, really. You woke up right after I finished. You can ask the servants at home, they're very strict and I can't do it more than once."
"So you've only been in my room once?" Brandon continued to ask.
Victoria didn't dare to say that she had been in his room many times, but each time was just to clean up and take care of him. He wouldn't believe her words after catching her doing something bad. She nodded quickly, "Yes, just once."
Brandon silently nodded, realizing that the woman murmuring beside him was indeed the one called Diana.
"Eat this," he pointed to a pill on the brown bedside table.
A progesterone pill. It was a contraceptive.
Victoria understood that, although they weren't really conceiving normally, the principle should be the same, and taking a contraceptive should work.
As she looked at his intense gaze, she coughed and said, "Do I really have to take it? But I'm not feeling well right now, and I'm worried..."
Still trying to find excuses?
With a cold glint in his eyes, he grabbed the medicine on the table, opened it, and pressed her shoulder, "If you're not dead, take it! Having a cold won't affect you taking a contraceptive."
He held her chin and watched as she slightly opened her lips, then directly shoved the pill into her mouth.
Victoria hadn't even reacted yet,but she had forcefully swallowed a small pill.
Without even glancing at her again, he wiped his hands and turned to leave.
Victoria once again weakly collapsed onto the bed.
How could there be such a despicable man?
She regretted feeling sorry for him when he was unconscious and even wiping his body. If she had known this would happen, she would have let him die on the bed like a pile of garbage.
Elijah walked in.
But he saw Victoria lying weakly on the bed, looking like she was sick, "Miss Griffin?"
Victoria looked up and asked, "Who are you?"
"I am Mr. Duncan's subordinate. You can call me Elijah. Mr. Duncan said..."
She never expected that the person she married was such a pure and clean girl.
But now Mr. Duncan was telling her to leave the villa.
Elijah felt sorry for her, but he said, "Mr. Duncan said you can rest for a while and then leave."
Victoria knew that Mr. Duncan wouldn't tolerate her living here, but she suddenly felt dizzy and said, "Can I stay a little longer? I don't have a job or a place to live. I'll move out as soon as I find a job and a place to rent."
"I'm afraid not..."
Although Elijah also felt sorry for her, he knew Mr. Duncan's temper. He was an unpredictable person, especially when he had just woken up. Elijah didn't dare to persuade him.
"Okay, then I'll just rest for a day, okay?"
Looking at her pale face,Elijah thought for a moment and decided to let her stay for a day. Mr. Elliott wouldn't find out anyway. "You can rest for a day, but you must leave tomorrow. And don't leave your room, or you'll be responsible for the consequences if Mr. Duncan finds out."
As Elijah closed the door and left, Victoria breathed a sigh of relief, but suddenly felt a tickle in her throat. She coughed violently and ran to the bathroom, where she vomited.
After returning, she couldn't bear it anymore and fell into a deep sleep.
She slept for three days straight and woke up feeling refreshed. She knew that she had recovered from a bad cold. She hadn't left the house in three days, but luckily Elijah had sent some porridge over, which she ate to her heart's content.
Now that she was awake and feeling hungry, she decided to get up and find something to eat. However, when she went outside, she realized that the villa had undergone a drastic transformation in just a few days. Brandon had ordered a complete renovation of the rooms, and she couldn't find her way around anymore. The kitchen had been turned into a living room, and she stumbled into what she thought was a lounge, only to hear voices coming from behind a nearby door. She quickly hid behind another door and realized that she was in a bathroom. Brandon's voice could be heard outside, sounding much stronger than it had a few days ago.
"How is the Gulf project coming along?" he asked.
"Sir, we have regained some of the power from President Larson, but he still controls a portion of the company. Over the past year, he has bought off many of the people who used to support you, and now they are using your recent illness as an excuse to hold onto their power. The architects he hired to replace your team have produced designs that are simply not up to par," Elijah replied.
President Larson is actually his uncle Fernando.
"Uncle Fernando is quite smart. The Gulf Plan was a project he invested in a year before the accident. With an investment of 10 billion, I can announce to everyone that I have truly returned by picking up this project. He thinks that by obstructing me, I won't be able to come back? Elijah, go find some designers who can be used."
"Okay."
"Those who obstruct me will have a bad ending. They will know sooner or later."
He seemed to have delicate hands, but he clenched the cup in his hand and shattered it, making a loud noise. Victoria, who was crouching inside, felt her heart tighten as if she was the one being easily crushed.
She had the misfortune of entering his office and didn't know when he left.
But what made her despair was that the next moment she heard him say, "You go out first, I need to freshen up."
Freshen up... She looked up weakly at the bathroom in front of her. She quickly retreated backwards, hiding in the large double bathtub.
His footsteps approached, pushing open the door. There were rustling sounds of clothes being taken off. The next moment, his long and straight legs appeared in front of her!
