Chapter 57 Divorce
Her limbs were firmly pinned down, and she looked at him with red eyes.
"Brandon, what do you want from me?" she asked, her voice choked with resentment.
Her helplessness and resistance only made him angrier.
"You can be all lovey-dovey with others, but you can't handle a little touch from me? Victoria, you are my lawful wife, and I can do whatever I want with you."
Victoria was pinned down by him, biting her lip, almost choking on her words. "How would you feel if you were pinned down like this?"
Brandon looked down at her slender body and couldn't help but soften his tone. Victoria was surprised. Was this man trying to torture her in a different way?
Just as she was about to resist, she quickly pushed him away.
Brandon noticed that her eyes were trembling and her cheeks were flushed, like a startled deer. His anger dissipated, and he snorted, "Does that feel better?" His teasing made her want to jump up and leave.
"You...you're just playing with me."
She got up and ran out, not daring to think about what he had done to her just now. The next day, she saw Elijah waiting for her at the door.
"Madam, how is your drawing coming along?"
"It will be done soon." If it weren't for Brandon, her drawing wouldn't have been ruined, and she wouldn't have to start over.
He was such an unpredictable person, really difficult to deal with. And he was so angry that he didn't care about the important drawings on the table that he valued so much!
"Okay." After thinking for a moment, Elijah felt it necessary to remind her, "Is everything okay between you and Mr.?"
Victoria suddenly remembered what Brandon had done yesterday. Her whole body was suddenly like an electric shock.
She shook her head in panic and forced herself to calm down, "It's okay, it's okay."
"Um, Mr. actually cares a lot about you, Miss."
"I know, after all, he still needs me to draw the drawings."
"..." Elijah looked at Miss with distress. She seemed quite smart, but why was she as foolish as Mr. in this matter? "It's not about drawing, you see, why was Mr. angry yesterday?"
Victoria blinked, "Because of Grayson."
"Yes, you admire other men so much... Mr. was jealous too."
Jealous?
Victoria was surprised. It couldn't be true...
Brandon would be jealous because of her?
This knowledge made her feel confused even when she was drawing.
It couldn't be true. How could he be jealous of her?
Usually, men only get jealous when they like a woman, right…
He treated her so badly...
However, thinking about his recent attitude towards her, it seemed to have improved a lot.
But a bout of nausea interrupted her thoughts, and she suddenly remembered the child in her stomach.
He forced her to take birth control pills, saying she was not worthy of bearing his child.
He didn't like her. He got angry and jealous yesterday because she was now his possession.
Fernando was right. No man would allow himself to be cuckolded. She was still his legal wife.
Victoria's heart grew cold. She withdrew her thoughts and waited for Elijah to take her to see Brandon after finishing the final drawing.
In the office, he looked satisfied with the drawings.
"Very good, I'm pleased with this design," he said.
Victoria breathed a sigh of relief.
He looked at her standing timidly on the side and suddenly got up, taking a black suit jacket from the rack.
"Let's go out to eat together."
Victoria pointed to herself, "Go out to eat?"
They had never eaten together outside the villa before.
"Yes, let's celebrate your completion of this design," Elijah said, smiling faintly behind her, looking very pleased.
It seemed that their Mr. had finally come to his senses.
Soon, they arrived at a famous Western restaurant.
They were led to a private room and he ordered a bottle of red wine.
But when he looked up, he saw Victoria looking wary the whole time. He said lightly, "Relax a little. Today is a celebration for you. Have a glass of red wine."
Victoria waved her hand, "I don't drink."
Brandon frowned, "Just a little won't hurt."
She really couldn't drink.
With a heavy heart, she pretended to take a sip under his gaze. In her mind, she thought it would be better to leave him early. How could she continue living like this?
Seeing her take a sip, he finally nodded in satisfaction.
"Um..." She put down the glass and mustered up the courage to look up. "When are we getting a divorce?"
The man opposite her suddenly darkened.
Victoria's heart immediately tightened.
His expression was like ice, his dark pupils narrowed dangerously as he looked at her.
The relaxed atmosphere just now vanished in an instant.
She tightened the hand under the table slightly. "The design is already finished, so I don't think I need to stay in the villa anymore."
He suddenly sneered and raised his eyes. "You want to leave the villa as soon as possible. What are you planning to do?"
Victoria was startled.
Didn't he say that they would get a divorce after the design was finished?
"No, you said..."
"Which man outside is trying to get you to divorce me? Dylan? Or... Grayson, whom you admire?"
She looked at him angrily. "What are you talking about? You're the one who said you wanted a divorce. Now that I want one, you won't let me? You're the one who's being strange. Don't forget that you have Diana outside. You're thinking about both sides. Who are you to say anything to me?" He approached her, and the innate noble contour of his face made her feel pressured.
"I can, but you can't. Do you really think you're worthy of comparing yourself to me?" He stood up and put on his coat, no longer interested in eating.
"You can't divorce me," he said. "Why not?" She stood up in shock.
He turned around and looked down at her pale face. "Because the decision is mine to make. You have no say in my affairs."
Victoria was left standing there, unsure of what to do, her hand on her stomach.
Outside, Elijah watched as Brandon walked out with a dark expression on his face, surprised by what had just happened.
"Sir, are you not going to eat? And what about the gift for the young madam?" Elijah held a velvet box in his hand.
Inside was the exquisite sapphire necklace that Brandon had intended to give Victoria as a gift for completing her work.
Looking at the perfectly wrapped velvet box, Brandon suddenly felt like it was a mockery of himself. How ridiculous it was for him to even consider giving her a gift.
He snatched the box and threw it into the nearby trash can.
Elijah watched as Brandon's face tensed up, his veins bulging. He forced himself to look away from the trash can and quickly followed after him.
