Chapter 48 She still loves him
Victoria went to the hospital for a check-up and was relieved to find out that her baby was not affected by the recent incident, despite being small. "If you're worried, you can take some progesterone and vitamin E. They're good for early pregnancy and can help prevent miscarriage," the doctor said. Victoria nodded and bought some, thinking it would be good to take them since her baby had been through a lot lately and she had been staying up late to draw.
As she was leaving the hospital, she saw someone at the entrance. "Victoria, what are you doing here?" It was Dylan. She didn't expect to see him there and quickly put the medication in her pocket, trying to act casual. "What's wrong? Isn't it normal to come to the hospital when you're sick?"
Dylan looked her over and noticed that she seemed to have lost weight in the few days since he last saw her. Earlier, he had received an anonymous call telling him that Victoria had a terminal illness. He was stunned and didn't believe it at first. How could Victoria be sick? But now, seeing her at the hospital looking unwell, he felt a mix of emotions.
"What's wrong with you?" he asked, approaching her.
"It's none of your business," Victoria said, turning to leave. But Dylan grabbed her and pulled her back. "Victoria, please tell me what's wrong. Let me see." He furrowed his brow in concern.
Victoria felt very unlucky. "Okay, I'm not sick. I lied to you," she said to Dylan, who was taken aback. "I just came to the hospital to help someone get medicine. I'm not sick myself." She thought that would be the end of it, but Dylan suddenly became very angry. What did Victoria mean? Was she deliberately lying? "Did you deliberately have someone call me and tell me you had a terminal illness to trick me into coming here?" Dylan asked. "Victoria, why have you become so malicious? Even if you still like me, I'm already engaged to Erica, and you have a good husband too, don't you?"
He was saying something, but Victoria was more confused than ever. "Have you watched too many TV dramas? Who gets a terminal illness so easily?" she retorted. Dylan was angry, but then he looked at her and thought about the day she appeared at his engagement party, and he felt relieved.
"Okay, I forgive you for lying to me," he said. Victoria was even more puzzled. "If you want to see me, you can see me. We've known each other for so many years, even if we can't be together, we're still friends. Why do you want to see me? Is it because you still don't love your husband and you love me instead? Were all those things you did at the engagement party for my benefit?"
His hand slowly reached out to her, filled with pity. "Victoria, why are you doing this to yourself? But I can understand your love for me. Don't worry, I won't tell Erica."
He grabbed her arm with a look of deep affection on his face. Victoria felt nauseous and almost threw up. "Dylan, what nonsense are you talking about?" She pushed him away. "You know very well whether or not you're talking nonsense. You always talk tough and care about your reputation. Don't I know you?" Victoria couldn't believe she used to like him so much. This man was so full of himself. "Yes, I love you. I love you so much that I can't stand it. You're with Erica now, but I still love you. So, are you saying that you can be with me behind Erica's back?" Dylan was taken aback and didn't see the coldness in her eyes. He looked proud of himself for guessing right. "Well, that's possible too. After all, I don't want to hurt either of you." Victoria felt even colder inside. She looked at him with sadness and pushed him away. "I'm sorry, but a man who doesn't respect himself is like rotten cabbage. You're a rotten cabbage, so go and be eaten by Erica. I don't want to wear someone else's smelly shoes." She pushed him away and left. "Victoria, you're unreasonable! You lied to me and came here, and now you're playing hard to get. Your tricks won't work on me!" Victoria took a taxi and left without noticing that someone was watching her with a video in their hand, chuckling softly. Victoria, you're finished.
Diana appeared in front of Brandon once again. Brandon's patience with her was wearing thin. He looked at her with a cold expression and asked, "What are you doing here at the company?"
"I ran into Victoria today and I think you need to see this," Diana said with a mournful expression.
"You went to see Victoria again?" Brandon frowned. "Victoria serves a purpose for me. If you dare to touch her..."
"No, no, that's not it," Diana interrupted. "I just saw something and I had to tell you. I couldn't rest easy until I did. Please, take a look."
She showed him a video. It was a street scene and Brandon couldn't tell where it was. But he recognized the people in the video - Victoria and Dylan.
"You wanted to see me, so here I am. We've known each other for so many years. Even if we can't be together, we're still friends. Why do you want to see me? Is it because you don't love your husband? You still love me. Everything you did at your engagement party was for me, right?" Dylan said in the video.
Brandon's face turned pale as he listened to Dylan's words.
"Dylan, what nonsense are you talking about?" he asked.
"Am I talking nonsense? You know it's true. You always act tough and try to save face. Don't I know you well enough?" Dylan replied.
"Yes, I love you. I love you so much that I can't stand it. You're with Erica now, but I still love you. So, are you saying that you want to be with me behind Erica's back?" Brandon asked.
"Well, that's possible. After all, I don't want to hurt either of you," Dylan replied.
The video stopped and Diana looked at Brandon's dark eyes, which were now even more gloomy. She smiled inwardly but showed concern on her face. "I never thought Victoria would be like this. She's already married to you, but she's still trying to seduce Lu Xijue. That's why I..."
"Get out." The two cold words were uttered from his thin lips.
Diana froze in place.
Brandon's face seemed to have no temperature, but it was even more terrifying to look at.
She panicked and left the office.
In the villa.
Victoria finally finished drawing the last part of the design. The main area was now complete, and the rest would be easier to do.
Wiping the sweat from her forehead, she packed up her things and heard the urgent voice of the servant outside.
"Sir."
Brandon's bloodthirsty eyes looked coldly at Victoria inside.
She stood up, hesitated for a moment, and then smiled, "I finished my drawing, take a look..."
However, he stepped forward and grabbed her arm instead of looking at the drawing in her hand.
His knuckles tightened, causing a sharp pain in her slender arm.
"Where did you go today?"
