Chapter 18 Might is right
A tall figure, dressed in black, walked slowly towards them, exuding an immense pressure that caused people passing by to instinctively make way for him.
Master Miller was the first to spot him and was visibly surprised. "Duncan, Brandon! What is he doing here?" he exclaimed, drawing everyone's attention to Victoria.
No one had expected her to actually bring Brandon here. As he entered, his piercing black eyes immediately locked onto Victoria, causing her to involuntarily shrink back.
She knew that once this was over, he would come after her for revenge. But for now, she was enjoying the moment.
Diana was the first to step forward. "What are you doing here? I'm here for a classmate's celebration and ran into her, Victoria..."
"What's wrong with me? Are you going to say that I should kick you out again? You always say the same thing. I'm sure even President Duncan is tired of hearing it," Victoria interrupted, causing Diana's face to freeze in shock.
She had indeed been about to say those exact words.
Brandon calmly looked at the two of them and frowned, asking Victoria, "What's going on?"
Victoria pointed directly at Diana and said, "She made me very unhappy, and now I feel very hurt. I think it's time for me to leave High City and find a lonely place in the countryside to grow old, instead of bothering her here."
Brandon's eyes flashed with strong anger as he looked at Victoria. Although Victoria was a little scared, she had already said everything and was not afraid of anything. She raised her neck and did not back down at all.
Diana pretended to be aggrieved and looked at Victoria, "Victoria, why do you always target me just because I have a different opinion from you? Didn't I listen to you before?" Diana reminded Brandon again that Victoria had ignored him when he was unconscious. It was her who had taken care of him!
Victoria smiled brightly, showing her red lips. She leaned close to Diana's ear and whispered in a voice that only the two of them could hear, "Do you think Brandon will give up his bay plan for the sake of his children's love?"
"What do you mean?" Diana asked.
As soon as Diana finished speaking, Brandon spoke coldly, "You go back first."
Diana was taken aback. "Are you trying to drive me away for Victoria sake?" she asked.
As soon as the words left her mouth, the air turned icy cold. Brandon's cold gaze swept over her, and Diana froze in place. She had forgotten that this was Brandon, the young man who took over the Duncan Family at the age of twenty. It was clear that openly defying his will would not do her any good, even though she was unwilling to admit it. Diana cast a hateful glance at Victoria before putting on a sorrowful expression and saying, "Since you put it that way... fine, I'll leave. I'll do as you say, as long as you don't make things difficult for me."
Victoria felt disgusted by Diana's insincere behavior. Since Diana had already made up her mind to leave, there was no way Victoria would let her go so easily.
"Wait," Victoria called out to Diana.
Everyone, including Brandon, turned to look at Victoria.
Victoria stood tall with her hands behind her back, facing Brandon. "Is she just going to leave like that? I still feel uneasy about it," she said.
Brandon's face was as dark as a storm cloud, and his words were gritted through his teeth. "What else do you want?"
Victoria swallowed hard. "Nothing else. She was just speaking recklessly here earlier, and she didn't show any respect to Uncle Xu. I want her to bow and apologize to Uncle Xu, and admit that she was being arrogant and lacked manners when speaking to her elders."
Diana's face changed and her words were too harsh. "Victoria! Don't be too much!"
Victoria immediately grabbed Brandon and hid behind him, looking scared. "Oh, I'm so scared. What are you going to do? I'm shaking so much, I can't even hold a pen steady."
She raised her small, feigned fragile face and looked at Brandon, deliberately imitating Diana's usual mannerisms. It was a deliberate mockery, and Brandon liked that kind of woman.
Brandon clearly saw the satisfaction behind the conspiracy in those weak eyes.
Very good, very good...
Brandon's deep, unfathomable eyes were calm as he gritted his teeth and said, "Let's do as she says."
Diana was shocked!
She had to say such harsh words in front of so many people. Especially when everyone thought she was Brandon's favorite, and he was always pleasing her. Brandon personally brought her to the bottom, and she was so embarrassed!
But even though she had ten thousand reasons not to, looking at Brandon's stern expression, that terrifying look, she dared not resist even a bit.
"I... I'm sorry, Uncle. Please don't take offense to what a young person like me said. I was too arrogant and disrespectful to my elders. Please forgive me and let me go. I will definitely learn how to respect my elders!"
After saying these words with shame, she lowered her head and her eyes turned red. She held back her tears.
Master Miller didn't expect things to escalate to this point and quickly said, "It's all just kids' stuff. I won't hold it against you."
Brandon just stared at Victoria.
His cold and eerie eyes were filled with suppressed anger. "Are you satisfied now?"
Victoria let go of him and stood aside with her hands behind her back, smiling. "I suddenly feel so relieved and inspired. I feel like I'm possessed by John Woo today."
John Woo was the world's top architect, and Brandon knew that.
However, he still glared at her fiercely. Although others couldn't understand his expression, Victoria knew that it clearly meant "I'll settle the score with you later!"
