Chapter 109 Her child is gone
"Can't I tell him if you're plotting against him?" Victoria said.
She had been resentful of Brandon for so long, but now they were at odds again because of their child.
She had learned the truth, but it was too late.
Was it because they were not meant to be together?
Diana bit her lip and walked forward. "He won't believe you. You have no evidence."
"Whether there is evidence or not doesn't matter. Let's see if he believes you," Victoria said, turning around to leave.
"Victoria." Diana's eyes flickered, and she suddenly grabbed Victoria.
Victoria turned around, but before she could react, Diana screamed in horror.
"Ah...Victoria..."
Then, she closed her eyes and suddenly rolled down the stairs beside her. With the sound of the impact, she finally fell under the stairs.
Victoria was astonished, looking over there, hardly believing her eyes.
What just happened?
The servants heard the screams and rushed out.
"Oh my God, Miss Evans fell!"
"Something's wrong, Miss Evans rolled down the stairs."
Lisa also came out when she heard the commotion and was also startled by what she saw.
Diana's face was pale, clutching her stomach, and she grabbed Lisa. "My child, my child, my stomach hurts so much. Victoria pushed me on purpose. She wants to kill my child. Please save my child!"
Lisa turned her head and glanced at the stunned Victoria, urging her, "Quick, call a doctor."
However, when she lowered her head, she saw that Diana's pants were already stained red with blood. She knew in her heart that the child was probably not going to make it.
Only then did Victoria react. "Diana, you...you did it on purpose!"
Diana looked up, tears streaming down her face as she cried to Victoria, "My child, give me back my child!"
Old Madam Duncan soon arrived and, seeing the scene, could only say, "Take her to the hospital and call Brandon back."
Everyone rushed to the hospital, but Diana's child did not make it.
The sound of crying filled the hospital room.
The servants outside listened and felt pity.
"Who would have thought Miss Griffin was so heartless, pushing Miss Evans down like that."
"Of course, Miss Griffin is also pregnant. If Miss Evans had given birth to a boy, it would have threatened Miss Griffin's position."
When Brandon entered the room, he heard the servants whispering.
Seeing his dark figure, everyone quickly shrank back and didn't dare to speak.
Brandon walked into the hospital room with a stern face.
Diana's cheeks were red from crying, and when she saw Brandon, tears flowed even more. "Brandon, we lost our child... It could have been a boy, and he was so small... How could Victoria be so heartless?"
Brandon looked at her, his expression unreadable. "Is your health okay?"
Lisa sighed and said, "With a loss like this, your body must have suffered. You need to take good care of yourself. Fortunately, Diana, you're still young, and Brandon is too. You'll have more children in the future."
Brandon said emotionlessly, "You don't have to worry about the medical expenses. As for compensation, you can rest assured."
Diana felt a lump in her heart. She didn't want this kind of compensation. She wanted Brandon!
Lisa looked at Brandon and said, "Brandon, this child was supposed to be a successor to the Duncan Family. If it was a boy, he could have been the heir. But now, he's been killed. How can you just let it go? Shouldn't we make the person responsible pay?"
Brandon looked at Lisa and said, "An unborn child has no certainty. If it didn't come to term, it doesn't exist."
Diana felt that Brandon was being cold-hearted towards their child. Lisa said, "That won't do. Victoria intentionally caused harm. We should report her to the police. She might even go to jail. If we don't do anything, our family will be in chaos. What if someone else loses a child? We can't let this happen again."
"What do you mean?" Brandon asked. "Do you want me to send the young mistress of the Duncan Family to the police station?"
"No, of course not," Lisa said. "But there must be punishment. Otherwise, will Diana's child have died in vain?"
Diana nodded while crying, "No, Brandon, you can't do that. That's also your child. Don't you feel any pain?"
Brandon looked at Diana and asked, "What do you want me to do?"
With a vicious look in her eyes, Diana replied, "I don't expect you to do anything to her physically. After all, she's still pregnant. I'm not as cruel as she is. But... I want you to divorce her and leave her with nothing."
His eyes turned cold, and Diana felt a chill in her heart.
"You want us to get a divorce?"
He narrowed his eyes and looked at Diana. Biting her lip, Diana had already decided to go all out. She might not have another chance like this.
"Yes, otherwise, I'll call the police. I don't care about the impact this will have on the Duncan Family. That's my child. I must make her pay for it. If you don't divorce her, I'll call the police and let everyone know how evil her heart really is!"
Lisa smiled at Diana, realizing how smart she was.
Brandon left the hospital quickly.
Elijah said, "Sir, Madam is waiting for you outside... Also, please accept my condolences. Although Miss Evans lost her child, you still have a child with Madam... cough..."
Brandon glanced at Elijah, and Elijah quickly stopped talking.
Brandon said, "If it's gone, it's gone." Elijah was stunned again as he saw that Brandon didn't seem sad at all. Brandon actually thought it was better that the child was gone, as he didn't want to have a child with Diana in the first place. So when he heard that the child was gone, he didn't feel any regret or sadness. Perhaps he was just too cold-blooded. However, he didn't expect that Victoria could be so heartless towards people. But then again, she had never been soft-hearted towards him either. Victoria was still waiting outside, and when she saw Brandon coming, she quickly said, "It wasn't me who pushed her, Diana fell by herself." "She fell by herself?" Brandon said, "She wanted to secure her position in the Duncan Family with this child, why would she do that?" "Because the child is not yours at all," Victoria said urgently.
