Chapter 199
I looked at Jason with sparkling eyes.
Seeing how nervous he was, I couldn't help teasing him, "I wonder who it was during New Year's that made phone calls pulling strings just to get a marriage certificate, and now we're right at the door of the marriage registration office, suddenly having second thoughts?"
I thought Jason would be dying to drag me into the marriage registration office, but I didn't expect him to ask me again outside.
"If we're not getting it, should I just go home?"
"Get it! Let's go right now!"
Jason quickly got out of the car and walked around to open the passenger door for me.
As soon as I got out of the car, he grabbed my hand and headed toward the marriage registration office.
I suddenly stopped, "Wait a second."
Jason turned around, his excited expression darkening.
I helplessly put the scarf on him, "I don't want a sickly husband right after getting married."
Seaside City's winter wasn't that cold, but the wind still had a bit of a chill.
Only then did Jason's smile return.
Walking into the marriage registration office with Jason, I looked up to see a long line of people inside.
I was a bit surprised.
I originally thought we'd come quite early today, but there were so many people who'd arrived even earlier than us.
My gaze swept from the front of the line to the back. Just as I was about to go stand at the end, a uniformed staff member quickly walked toward us and said respectfully, "Mr. Cooper, please follow me with Mrs. Cooper."
I got to experience special treatment.
Not only did we skip the line, but we even had dedicated service for getting our marriage certificate.
Jason had even hired a photographer to record this precious moment.
The photographer said to us, "Both of you look at the camera."
Jason sat beside me, his warm hand gripping mine tightly, smiling at the camera together with me.
"Perfect!"
The photographer gave us a thumbs up, "You two are such a talented and beautiful couple, a match made in heaven. If we put your photo out there, it could be used as advertising for marriage."
I smiled politely, assuming he said this to every couple.
The marriage certificate was processed very quickly.
In just moments, the two marriage certificates were handed to us.
I walked out while looking at mine, but after a couple of steps, I noticed Jason hadn't followed.
I turned around in surprise to see Jason staring at the marriage certificate with a silly grin.
The man who was usually decisive and sharp in business was now smiling like a fool.
I shook my head helplessly and walked to his side, naturally linking my arm through his, "Are you really that happy?"
"Of course! Incredibly happy!"
Jason nodded vigorously and reached out to me, "Give me your marriage certificate too."
I handed it to him, and he took a photo and posted it in the family group chat.
My phone vibrated.
Taking out my phone, I discovered that I'd been added to a group chat at some point.
The latest message was the photo of our marriage certificates that Jason had posted.
The group quickly became lively.
Kelly: [You're finally married! Congratulations!]
Charles: [Happy newlyweds! A hundred years of harmony!]
Even Lucy said: [You two are finally married, it wasn't easy! We need to start planning the wedding right away.]
Other Cooper family members gradually started chiming in.
Basically everyone was congratulating us on our marriage and discussing the wedding.
I was a bit surprised and looked at Jason curiously, "When did you add me to your family group chat?"
"During New Year's."
I understood.
Since no one had been talking in the group recently, I hadn't noticed I was in it.
My phone vibrated again—it was a message from Tamsin.
Tamsin: [Jason, bring my Sue back quickly. I'm having the kitchen prepare a feast. Today is a great day of celebration for our family, we must celebrate properly. Everyone must come!]
Warmth spread through my heart, and I smiled, "Grandma's calling us back to Old Mansion for dinner."
Jason's lips pressed together slightly, "I originally wanted to take you out to eat, just the two of us. I should have waited to show off."
I couldn't help laughing at his words, "Come on, isn't it better to celebrate with the whole family? Getting everyone's blessings is a happy thing."
Jason raised an eyebrow, and the gloom in his eyes finally dissipated.
He stacked the two marriage certificates together and carefully placed them in his jacket, gripping my hand tightly.
His voice carried undisguised joy, "Wife, let's go home."
The word "wife" tickled my heart, making it tingle.
The corners of my lips curved into an unstoppable smile, and I raised an eyebrow, "That sounds really nice."
"Does it?"
Jason lifted my chin, his gaze deep and burning as he looked at me, "I haven't heard it yet. Let me hear if it really sounds that good."
I blinked, smiling brightly, "Husband!"
Jason froze in place, clearly not expecting me to be so straightforward.
I tilted my head to look at him and reached out to playfully squish his handsome face.
His handsome face became distorted under my hands, looking rather amusing.
Seeing he still wasn't speaking, I teased, "What's wrong? Doesn't it sound good? Should I just call you Mr. Cooper from now on?"
Only then did Jason snap back to reality, his eyes full of affection that could drown someone.
He let my hands mess with his face, saying tenderly, "It sounds good. Keep calling me that from now on, okay?"
I was in an exceptionally good mood, and the smile on my face just wouldn't stop, "Okay, husband, husband, husband!"
Jason's eyes darkened, and he stepped closer, pulling me entirely into his embrace, holding me as he walked toward the car by the roadside.
I buried my head in his chest, hearing his racing heartbeat in my ears.
Looking up, I saw Jason's handsome face.
I glanced around, and seeing no one looking our way, I stood on my tiptoes and quickly kissed Jason's lips.
Soft.
Jason's eyes darkened, and he actually picked me up directly, striding quickly toward the car.
As soon as we got back in the car, Jason pressed me into his arms and kissed me fiercely!
He kissed intensely, conquering territory, frantically stealing my breath.
I responded to him passionately.
Our lips and tongues intertwined, and the atmosphere in the car gradually became hot and intimate.
Before the last shred of reason disappeared, I pressed my hands against Jason, "Wait, not here."
Jason released me with obvious restraint, tapping my nose, "I'll deal with you properly tonight."
I blinked, looking at him with a smile, "I'm not scared at all."
Jason suddenly looked away, swallowing hard, and started the car.
Watching his flustered appearance, I covered my mouth and giggled.
After the car had been driving for a while, I looked at the scenery outside, somewhat puzzled, "Aren't we going to Old Mansion? Why are we in the city center?"
"It's a secret."
Jason smiled mysteriously, parked the car, got out and opened the door for me, extending his hand.
I looked at him rather confused but still placed my hand in his palm.
Jason led me straight to a jewelry store.
I suddenly realized something, "Jason..."
"Call me husband."
