Chapter 194
Lucy calmly pushed her away, saying with disgust, "Stop pretending to be poor. You got at least fifteen million dollars in New Year's gifts tonight, right?"
I quietly put down my phone.
Originally, after hearing Kelly's words, I was planning to return the money to her.
They're all rich people, they don't need my sympathy.
Kelly pouted, looking pitiful, "That's for supporting my future husband."
Lucy rolled her eyes, "Can you have some ambition? I'm not saying you need to find someone who can support you, but at least find someone who's your equal. Don't tell me you're planning to ask us for money in the future to support your husband and kids?"
Kelly said seriously, "What if the person I like in the future can't make that much money? Shouldn't I take responsibility for supporting the family?"
Lucy was so angry she poked Kelly's forehead with her finger, "What am I supposed to say about you? What are you going to rely on with those little shoulders? If you were capable like your mom and me, able to manage a company yourself, I wouldn't have any problem with you finding a man who can't support a family."
"But all you do all day is eat, drink, and have fun. You've never earned a single penny, and you still want to support a family? Let me warn you now, don't count on us in the future."
Kelly pursed her lips, "Stingy!"
Lucy said, "Yes, I am stingy. Keep your eyes wide open when looking for a man. If you choose poorly, you'll be the only one suffering in the future!"
Kelly huffed twice but said nothing more.
Jessica was young and couldn't hold out any longer. A servant took her back to her room to sleep.
Old Mansion had specially prepared a children's room for her.
Jason also pulled me back to our room.
As soon as we entered, Jason pressed me against the door, staring at me intensely.
I realized what was about to happen. My cheeks burned, and my voice was low, "Wait, I haven't showered yet."
Jason's throat moved, one hand around my waist, "Together."
He carried me into the bathroom.
Jason reached for my long dress, and I quickly pressed down on his hand, "Don't tear it."
His eyes looked too fierce right now. The dress wouldn't survive intact in his hands.
This was a gift from Grandma, and I really liked it.
Plus, just looking at it, you could tell it was expensive. It would be such a waste to ruin it.
Jason paused, then patiently undid the buttons on the dress.
The dress was tossed aside, and the hairpin was removed from my head. My long hair immediately cascaded down like a waterfall.
Jason's voice was hoarse, carrying a strong sense of aggression, "Sue, you're so beautiful."
Blushing, I stood on tiptoe and kissed him first.
In the heat of the moment, I suddenly came to my senses and pushed Jason away with difficulty, "Wait, we don't have condoms."
Jason raised an eyebrow and, like magic, pulled out a box of condoms from his pocket.
I opened my mouth, "When did you bring those?"
"Grabbed a box on the way out."
My face instantly turned bright red.
On New Year's Day, I was too embarrassed to sleep in, so I got up from bed rubbing my sore waist.
Jason wrapped his arm around my waist, trying to pull me back, "Sleep a bit more."
Considering we were at Old Mansion, I shook my head embarrassedly, "No, you get up with me."
Jason didn't refuse and got up with me.
After breakfast at Old Mansion, our family of three went back to our own home.
Once back, I couldn't go on anymore and just lay collapsed on the bed.
The reason? I was too tired last night and didn't want to move at all now.
Jason, on the other hand, was full of energy and took Jessica out to play.
Lily returned to Seaside City on the sixth day and asked me to have dinner together.
As soon as we met, Lily stuffed a bag into my hands, "These are all local specialties, take them home and try them."
I weighed the incredibly heavy bag in my hands, helplessly, "Isn't this too much?"
"Not at all, they're all good stuff!"
Lily cheerfully linked her arm through mine and pulled me toward the restaurant, "Come on, let's eat first!"
I didn't expect to run into Elizabeth at the restaurant.
She was there having dinner with two friends.
I wasn't close with her, and because of Brian, Elizabeth even had some hostility toward me.
So after just one glance at her, I calmly looked away.
Lily looked over at Elizabeth a couple more times, then asked me, "Do you know her?"
I nodded, "Met a few times. Elizabeth, Brian's fiancée."
Lily raised an eyebrow, "She's looking at you."
I'd left DT Corp a long time ago. Her looking at me had nothing to do with Brian anymore.
I shook my head gently, "Let's go in."
We found seats and sat down. After ordering, I looked up at Lily, "Did you see Ryan after you got back?"
Lily shook her head, "Haven't told him yet."
What's going on with these two now?
I was puzzled, "Last time you went home for that blind date, didn't Ryan come find you? You two should have made up, right?"
"Sort of."
"So what are you planning to do now?"
"Honestly, I don't know either. If I had to give an answer right now, I really don't know what to choose. I guess I'll just leave things as they are for now, take it one day at a time."
I knew that making a decision was very difficult for Lily.
She was different from me, but I'd also been through such a conflicted time.
I patted Lily's shoulder sympathetically.
Lily just smiled.
Halfway through the meal, I went to the restroom.
When I came out, I ran into Elizabeth, of all people.
Elizabeth stood at the sink, staring at me coldly through the mirror, "Has Brian contacted you?"
I was stunned, "Why would he contact me?"
Since leaving the company, Brian and I hadn't been in touch.
Jason gets jealous so easily, and Brian has a fiancée. I'd have to be crazy to actively contact Brian.
But Elizabeth said matter-of-factly, "He likes you. Why else would he contact you?"
I was immediately speechless.
So Elizabeth here still hasn't won Brian over, and happened to run into me, so she's taking it out on me?
I used to back down because I needed to work and make money.
But now I'm not afraid anymore!
I pulled at the corner of my mouth, saying carelessly, "Yes, yes, yes, we're in contact all the time, day and night, every moment. Are you satisfied now?"
Elizabeth glared at me angrily, "Sue, have you no shame? You already have a boyfriend, and you're still after my Brian. Does Jason know? Can he stand it?"
I was speechless, "This is my business, it has nothing to do with you."
"Sue!"
Elizabeth raised her voice, with a crying tone, "You've gone too far! Brian is my fiancé!"
I pulled out paper to dry my hands, turned to look at her reddening eyes, and finally said, "I was kidding. Mr. Ethan and I haven't been in contact for a long time. If you can't win over your man, that's your problem. Don't blame me for it."
"Really?"
Elizabeth clearly didn't believe me.
I had no need to prove anything and started to walk away, "Believe it or not."
Elizabeth quickly caught up, "Sue, Brian has always been cold to me! Can you teach me what to do?"
"I've tried so many things to please him. I even learned to cook, but he said it was terrible and told me not to bother."
"I knitted him a sweater, but he thought it was ugly and never wore it."
"He said I was spoiled and willful, so I tried to be gentle and considerate, and he actually said I was being fake!"
"I'm really hurt. Tell me, what else do I need to do to make him love me?"
