"Mr. Cooper, Ms. Wilson's discharge procedures are all done. She's already on the plane back to Sunrise City."
Samuel's voice came through the phone.
Jason acknowledged and hung up.
I secretly breathed a sigh of relief, too.
Finally got Cora sent away.
"How much were the medical bills plus the caregiver fees?"
I asked Jason.
Jason's eyes flickered slightly. I cut him off before he could speak, "Tell me the truth. These things can be checked anyway."
Jason had no choice but to open the bill in front of me.
Cora's hospitalization and surgery, plus the cost of two caregivers, came to a hundred thousand dollars in total.
However, Luke had prepaid fifty thousand when Cora was hospitalized.
So I transferred the remaining fifty thousand to Jason.
This worked out well.
Otherwise, I'd have to find Luke to split the medical bills.
Just thinking about Luke's cold demeanor and his holier-than-thou attitude made me not want any contact with him.
Since it split evenly, I didn't message Luke again.
After staying in Country M for a few days, Jason's work there wrapped up.
On our way to the airport, I noticed Ron looked really worn out. I asked with concern, "Ron, what's wrong with you? You look terrible. Are you feeling sick? Are you ill?"
Ron's expression was hard to describe.
He smiled at me through the rearview mirror, "No, I haven't acclimatized here."
I was surprised, "Huh? You didn't seem like you had acclimatized here at first."
Ron laughed awkwardly, "Maybe my body took a while to react before it started."
I was even more confused, "Does that really happen?"
I'd never heard of such a thing.
Ron answered, "I guess so, probably."
I chatted with Ron a bit more, then Jason said from the side, "Should I go under the car to give you two some space to chat properly?"
Ron's face changed dramatically. He quickly sat up straight, eyes forward.
I helplessly glanced at Jason and couldn't help complaining, "What's wrong with you now?"
I was just having a few words with Ron.
And wasn't Ron his subordinate?
His subordinate looked so terrible, and he, as the boss, didn't even care?
Not humane at all!
Jason looked at me unhappily, "Am I crazy in your eyes?"
I snorted, "I think you and Victoria are about the same. Why don't you go get checked out?"
Hearing Victoria's name, Jason immediately shut his mouth.
I raised an eyebrow at him and pursed my lips.
He sure knew how to avoid danger.
Over ten hours later, the plane finally landed.
Getting into the car, Grandma Cooper arranged, we just arrived at Old Cooper Mansion.
I saw a familiar little figure rushing over.
"Mommy!"
"Jessica! I missed you so much!"
I squatted down and picked Jessica up.
She was growing so fast, almost changing every day.
Plus, Jessica was already taller than kids her age, so holding her felt a bit difficult for a moment.
Jessica wrapped her arms around my neck, nuzzling my face affectionately, "I really missed you so much!"
"Baby, me too! Come here! Mommy's going to kiss you!"
I planted a big kiss on Jessica's soft cheek.
Jessica was pouting, about to kiss me back, when Jason picked her up.
"Daddy, what are you doing! I want Mommy!" Jessica struggled.
Jason held her in his arms, smiling without warmth, "Daddy missed you, too. Let Daddy hold you for a while?"
Jessica stopped struggling and tilted her head to look at him, "Daddy, are you telling the truth?"
Jason kept a straight face, "Of course. Can't you see how much I missed you from my expression?"
Jessica nodded, "Okay then, Daddy, remember to hold me for a while, just twenty minutes! Otherwise, there's no way to prove how much Daddy missed me!"
I couldn't help but laugh.
Jason wanted to let go after holding her for a bit.
Jessica immediately clung to Jason like an octopus, not forgetting to remind him seriously, "Daddy, don't slack off, I'm going to fall!"
Jason's mouth twitched.
Jessica just clung tightly to Jason like that, sticking to him as they went inside.
Seeing this, Grandma Cooper couldn't help teasing, "After just a few days apart, you two have gotten so close?"
I stood aside, trying not to laugh.
This was clearly Jessica's scheme.
Jason narrowed his eyes slightly, staring at Jessica, "Get down."
Jessica's little face was full of innocence and confusion.
She tilted her head to look at Jason, "Daddy, didn't you say you missed me? I missed Daddy, too. Isn't it good for us to hold each other a bit longer?"
Jason's face darkened.
Before he could say anything, Jessica had already slid down from him and darted behind me, complaining pitifully, "Mommy, Daddy wants to hit me!"
I stared at him.
Jason spread his hands, saying helplessly, "I didn't."
Jessica tugged at my finger, looking pitiful, "Mommy, I could feel it. Daddy wanted to put me over his knee and spank me, boo hoo... Daddy is so scary!"
While saying this, Jessica covered her face, her shoulders shaking.
Jason's mouth twitched, veins bulging at his temples.
I immediately pulled Jessica into my arms, frowning, giving Jason a cold look.
Jason instantly deflated, stepping back two steps, looking pitiful.
Only then did Jessica peek out from my arms, clinging to me sweetly, "Mommy, hold me!"
After eating at Old Cooper Mansion, we took Jessica back to the villa.
Grandma Cooper didn't come with us today.
After getting home, I played with Jessica in the living room while Jason went upstairs early.
Jessica looked at Jason's retreating figure, a bit confused, "Where's Daddy going?"

I saw Jason lying on my bed, wearing black pajamas with his chest open, revealing his tempting pecs and abs.
He winked at me, "Sue, I've already washed up."

I thought I could finally rest well after coming back.
I came to my senses and started kicking him out calmly, "Go back to your room."
Jason's smile froze. He looked at me pitifully, calling out sweetly, "Sue..."
I rubbed my temples, explaining helplessly, "I want to sleep well tonight."
After a moment of silence, Jason moved to the side and patted the space next to him.
He looked at me seriously, "I won't do anything, just hold you while sleeping, okay?"
Seeming to sense my doubt, Jason swore, "I swear on my happiness for the rest of my life, tonight I'll really just hold you while sleeping!"
