Chapter 126
Samuel glanced at Terry sympathetically.
Meeting Terry's eager gaze, Samuel spoke vaguely, "Mr. Ethan, you'll know once you go in."
Terry quickened his pace into the office. The moment he saw Jason, his face lit up with an especially bright smile.
"Mr. Cooper, long time no see! What can I do for you today?"
Jason leaned back in his executive chair, legs crossed, looking relaxed and casual.
But the look he gave Terry was ice cold.
"I just want to have a good talk with you about your daughter."
Terry froze, cursing Mia internally for only knowing how to cause him trouble.
In front of Jason, he could only maintain his smile. "Mia has a terrible personality. If she accidentally offended you, I'll definitely deal with her when I get back!"
"Don't you want to know what she did?" Jason asked coldly, giving off an extremely oppressive feeling.
Cold sweat slid down Terry's temple.
He opened his mouth and, after a moment, asked, "What did she do?"
"If you don't know, go find out yourself. I'm giving you five minutes." Jason had no interest in explaining to Terry.
He was angry just looking at Terry right now.
Terry left the office with a pale face and returned five minutes later, still pale.
"Mr. Cooper, this is indeed Mia's fault. She almost hurt Ms. Wilson. I'll definitely deal with her when I get back! Make sure she never dares to have such thoughts again!"
Terry spoke through gritted teeth.
"Just punish Mia?" Jason raised an eyebrow, tapping his fingers on the desk.
The dull tapping sound seemed to fall heavily on Terry's heart.
Terry studied Jason's expression and spoke carefully, "Of course not, I'll definitely compensate Ms. Wilson."
Jason's expression softened slightly as he nodded. "Fine, just give her money. She likes money, nothing else."
Hearing this, Terry nodded repeatedly, then looked worried again.
Jason only said to give money, but didn't say how much.
Was this to see his attitude?
Terry's mind raced, thinking for a long time before tentatively offering a number, "Mr. Cooper, how about ten million?"
Jason sneered.
Terry shuddered and quickly waved his hands. "No, let's make it twenty million!"
Jason raised an eyebrow. "Fifty million."
"Fifty million?!" Terry almost thought he'd heard wrong.
"What? You think my woman being wronged isn't worth fifty million?"
Jason's voice deepened, frightening Terry into instinctive trembling.
"No, I absolutely didn't mean that. Whatever you say!"
As Terry said this, his heart ached.
He had planned to give at most twenty million and be done with it.
He never expected Jason to ask for fifty million right off the bat!
More critically, he had no choice but to give it.
If he upset Jason, DT Corp wouldn't have a good outcome!
"When you get back, fire Sue," Jason continued. "This fifty million is severance pay; transfer it directly to her bank account."
Terry nodded repeatedly, not daring to say a word of objection.
Just as he was about to leave, Jason suddenly stopped him. "Wait."
Terry could only force out a smile and ask, "Mr. Cooper, is there something else?"
"You should know what you can say and what you can't, right?" Jason asked deliberately.
Terry nodded vigorously. "Mr. Cooper, don't worry. Ms. Wilson will absolutely never know about this."
Only then was Jason satisfied. He waved his hand. "Alright, go."
Only then did Terry leave with his head down.
After leaving Glacier Corp, Terry's expression instantly turned extremely dark.
Hospital.
When Brian woke up, his eyes looked blankly at the ceiling. "Where... am I?"
He slowly turned his head and saw Elizabeth sleeping with her head on the hospital bed.
Elizabeth heard the movement and lifted her head.
Joy flashed in her eyes. "Brian, you're finally awake! You don't know how much you scared me!"
Brian only remembered that he seemed to have drunk too much and asked Sue to take him upstairs to rest for a bit. He couldn't remember what happened after that.
"I didn't do anything to Sue, did I?" Brian asked hoarsely.
The smile on Elizabeth's face stiffened for a moment, then her voice took on a hurt tone. "Brian, why is the first thing you ask about her? Why don't you ask about me?"
"This has something to do with you, too?" Brian was stunned.
Elizabeth lowered her head and wrung her fingers, speaking slowly. "If you mean grabbing me, pinning me down, kissing and biting me, and frantically tearing at my clothes... if those things don't count, then I guess it has nothing to do with me."
Brian fell silent.
He wanted a cigarette, but remembering this was a hospital room, he held back.
After a moment, Brian said in a low voice, "Sorry, I didn't expect it to turn out like this. I'll compensate you. Name your terms."
Elizabeth's eyes lit up, her voice unable to hide her joy. "I can really ask for compensation?!"
Brian glanced at her. "Not anymore."
Elizabeth's disappointment was obvious. "How can you be like this?"
"After all, you've always liked me. I was drugged, and you gave me a chance to take advantage of me. No matter how you look at it, I'm the one who lost out, so of course, there's no compensation," Brian said matter-of-factly.
"That's not true!" Elizabeth shook her head in protest.
She looked at Brian shyly, her eyes bright and sparkling. "Although I do really like you, this kind of thing is very sacred. I still want to save it for my wedding night, not under those circumstances. But luckily, the doctor came in time and restrained you, Brian, otherwise things would have been terrible!"
Hearing this, Brian understood that he and Elizabeth hadn't actually had sex last night.
Brian breathed a sigh of relief and got out of bed.
Elizabeth quickly reached out to support him. "Brian, where are you going?"
"Checking out."
Elizabeth responded and followed behind Brian.
Brian was tall with long legs and walked quickly. She had to jog to keep up.
Suddenly, Brian stopped. Elizabeth ran into his back unprepared.
She rubbed her nose in pain. "Brian, why did you suddenly stop?"
"Where did Sue go last night?" Brian asked.
"She was taken away by Mr. Cooper. Good thing you didn't do anything to her last night. When Mr. Cooper came, he looked really scary. I was wondering if he was going to kill someone." Elizabeth patted her chest with lingering fear.
Brian's fists clenched at his sides, his eyes gradually darkening.
