Chapter 99
At exactly 7 pm, Gerald stopped by to pick them up. Olivia was the most prettiest person. Chester rose to his feet at the sight of her. She wore a royal blue short straight dress, with a long and flared sleeve. Her gold-colored wavy hair dangled on her shoulders. As she walked in, wearing black heels, part of her thighs were revealed, and her smile was the brightest.
"You are beautiful" Chester complimented softly, stretching forth his hands.
"Thank you" she responded, walking up to him.
Trent and Gemma walked in like the perfect couple they were. Gemma wore a short pleated purple dress, while Trent wore a pair of white pants and a purple shirt to match Gemma's dress.
His kids looked beautiful. Adriana was as beautiful as her mother. The boys were looking all great in their suits.
"Thank you for honoring my invitation. Please have a seat"
They all took their seats. Olivia sat next to him and the kids all sat on the seats next to Olivia, while Trent and Gemma sat next to Chester's left side.
"This union means so much to me. I'm grateful. Thank you so much Olivia for coming back"
"Can we trust you?" Aryan broke out, staring at his fork placed next to his food.
"Sorry?"
"Can we trust you?" He repeated, looking up to Chester.
He chuckled embarrassingly. "Yes, sure. You can"
"Our mother has been through thick and thin. It's not enough to prepare a family dinner, wear a smile, and treat us nicely" Adrian added.
"Boys, you're about to ruin the mood. We can talk about this later" Olivia turned and whispered to them.
"I don't think they are. This is scary to us. In the past months, we've gone through hell just to get here and I don't think it will be nice if you have intentions to break our hearts again. You can profess your motives and I promise, we won't be upset" Adriana explained.
"Adriana...."
"You don't have to call her name"
"I understand what y'all have...."
"Nope, you don't. You have no idea what we went through living in a neighborhood where the kids could barely feed but our father owns a multimillionaire company" Adrian cut in.
"You have no idea how we felt each time we looked at your pictures. We always whispered, he ruined our lives" Adriana added, almost crying.
"This is my fault. I always vented to them and told them everything because I wanted a listening ear" Olivia whispered, bowing her head gently.
"It's okay" he whispered, holding her hands.
"I understand how you feel. This is very relatable to me and I feel bad that my kids have to go through the same. I'm sorry Aryan, Adrian, and Adriana for the pains, experiences, tough times, crying nights, and trauma you had to go through in my absence. I have nothing to say that can justify my mistakes. I'm deeply sorry"
Olivia squeezed his hands gently.
"I hate seeing her cry. I don't want to ever see a drop of tears fall from her eyes. I promise, I won't ever forgive you" Aryan threatened.
"I'm currently reading a book. It's titled, Ten Thousand Ways to Kill Someone Without Being the Suspect. I'm sure you understand what this means" Adrian added.
They all chuckled softly except Adrian, Aryan, and Adriana.
"We may seem like kids to you but we have what it takes to wipe off President Chester Perkins from history"
"Oops! That was so scary, darling"
Gemma cleared her throat. "The kids have said it all. As they all know, they always have my full support and I don't mind going to any length just to make sure we achieve our desired goals. You're being watched, Chester. Just so you know"
"I can see that already. I'm jealous. You have a very supportive family here"
After the dinner, Olivia took a stroll to the room where they had preserved for their kids before the accident. She pushed the door open and realized that Chester had kept the room clean for these kids. How heartwarming it made her feel.
She walked into the room and ran her fingers on the furniture in the room. Her memories flashed before her eyes unexpectedly. She reminisced on her smiles and how she decorated the room each passing day even when she was yet to expect a child.
She stood before the mirror and suddenly recalled the most painful memory of them all. Aldo once met her in the room and made sexual advances towards her. She rejected him and warned him coldly.
She turned sharply to the door and ran towards it, running out of the room. "Aldo and Harlow work together" she muttered running to meet Chester.
She remembered his words that day. "You will be replaced soon and whoever is next to Chester must first be mine"
