Chapter 82

"Argh! It's been a long day" exclaimed Jason, immediately he saw off the last guest.

Harlow walked up to him with a smile. "I'm wasted and happy as well. The news about your anniversary will be all over the media by tomorrow. You did it, President Chester Perkins!"

He chuckled and took her hands. "Let's go. How about Olivia? Did she leave already?"

The maid standing by the corner nodded.

"You don't have to worry about that. Olivia is not a child, let's go now. We had a long day" she suggested, taking his hands as they walked to their room.

They arrived at the villa that night and Olivia was welcomed by a maid present. She directed them to their rooms and prepared dinner for them.

"This is very suspicious" Aryan whispered to his brother.

"I feel sad but somehow I kinda feel good that we're together" Adriana whispered.

"Yeah, I know right? I missed you mummy's baby" Adrian confessed.

"Do you think Aldo means harm?" She whispered to her brothers.

"I have a strong feeling that he does" Aryan stated.

"Let's see how it unfolds. I still find it very hard to believe he will do this much for us"

They gossiped, walking up to the hallway.

"Well, I think we're gonna enjoy it here"

"I do not look forward to that" Aryan responded.

"Hi"

"Mom!" Adriana called out, running towards her. She was already seated in the dining, waiting for them.

"You must be so tired, have your meal so that you can go to sleep"

They all nodded and opened their plates.

"Did you prepare this food?" Adrian broke out, staring at the food.

"What if it contains eggs?" Adriana quizzed.

"I can't eat any food aside from yours, I'm allergic to other people's meals" Adrian stated coldly.

The maid chuckled in embarrassment. "Hi Kids, I'm Pat, and I'm employed to take good care of all of you. I specifically prepared this meal and trust me when I say I mean no harm. I have grandchildren around your age and I'm very fond of kids, I know this is a tough decision but you have to trust me"

"I think we have some snacks in our bag," Adrian said, ignoring the maid, and turned to walk away.

"Stop there" his mother ordered. "Cooking is not just any usual activity, this is more like a feast, Pat genuinely cares for us that is why she took her time to prepare all of these....."

"No, Pat is paid to do all of these, including poisoning us. Don't make it look like a big deal" Aryan countered.

"Aryan, don't ever cut me short" she warned.

Pat chuckled softly. "That's okay, ma'am. Hi baby girl, I promise you, this does not contain any eggs, I received detailed information about you, be rest assured and try it, you will love it. You know, I only prepare this meal for my grandchildren and it's my first time preparing this for children around your age. You should give it a try"

"Firstly, she is not your baby girl, secondly, whatever you're trying to do with our emotions is not gonna work, we are not the usual children you come across every day, thirdly we are not taking these and that is final" Aryan stated, giving his final verdict.

Although, Adrian was the oldest among the triplets, Aryan had his way of gaining authority over them. A few times, he was subject to Adrian's command but other times, he gave the final decision and it always stood because Adrian and Adriana believed him to be the smartest around them, thus any decision he came up with was the best.

"If you don't mind, we will have your bowls, we came with some cereals and snacks. I'm also a great chef, you should focus on cleaning and sending information to Aldo." Adrian bragged, walking up to the kitchen.

"Don't forget to tell him that he should come up with another plan because using food to kill us is already a wrong plan, you witness it yourself" Adriana chipped.

They all walked back to their room.

Pat chuckled as they both watched them walk away.

"I'm really sorry, Pat, they had a terrible experience growing up. I think it got to them and all that. I'm really sorry and I promise to speak to them. You can give these to the guards, I will take my share to my room"

Pat smiled at her. "You have really, amazing children. Not to worry, Chairman Aldo told me about them and I'm prepared for anything. Besides, they are smarter than I thought and I really envy you for owning such amazing kids. I wish they could hang around my grandchildren and rub off on them"

Olivia blushed. "You envy me for having children who are smarter and arrogant than their mother?"

Pat chuckled. "Nah, they will do well. Please have a good night's rest and don't worry about what happened tonight. I'm fine, okay? Eat up and get some rest, you must be tired from your trip"

Olivia nodded. "Thank you so much, Pat. I do not take this for granted" she expressed and walked away, taking her food with her.

Pat's face twisted into a frown the moment Olivia was out of sight...

By morning, Chester woke up to a bright morning. For some reasons unknown to him, he was happy. He yawned and stretched a little as he walked into the bathroom.

Walking out of the bathroom, a thought struck him. He wore a smile as he walked out of his room, and down to Adriana's room.

"Adriana!" He called out happily as he unlocked her door. His puffy cheeks fell flat at her absence. "What? Where's is Adriana?" He rhetorically asked.

"I think she went jogging with some of the maids" Harlow responded behind him.

"Jogging? That's unusual"

She yawned and wrapped her hands around him. "Gosh! I still feel tired"

"I was about to take her for jogging as well?"

"I understand you care for her but it's a day to our wedding, shouldn't we be making preparations for that? Besides, she has the maids around her"
