We were in the hospital it was time for our little man to be born. Nicol’s water broke about 3 hours ago but our little man is not here yet. Nicol has screamed at me so far, squeezed my hand I thought it was going to break and ate ice cubes but nothing was happening. Suddenly Nicol looked at me “Call the doctor!” “Why?” I asked confused everything was going so well. “I’m bleeding.” I ran out and yelled “Doctor doctor please Nicol is in danger.” I didn’t even think
about the baby I was worried about Nicol. The doctor came running into the room I was asked to stand to one side while they examined Nicol and checked the babies heart beat and if he was suffering at all. All I heard the doctor
say is “You know what this means?” “Yes, doctor I’m good with it just do it don’t let my baby die.” I got back to Nicol’s bed“What the fuck is going on.” “Nicolas everything is going to be okay but they are going to have to do
a c-section, which means they are going to cut the baby out of me. I’m losing blood and the baby is in danger. I’ll get full anesthesia so you have to be there for him okay.” Nicol was so calm as she explained everything to me. I wanted to scream but Nicol was calm. “Nicolas tell me you heard me?” “I did I have to make sure our little man is okay.” “Yes, don’t worry about me the doctors will look after me, you go with our baby if I’m still in surgery.” “I can’t leave you Nicol.” The doctor was there getting Nicol ready a nurse took me to get dressed. “Nicolas promise me you’ll stay with Nico.” We haven’t decided on a name yet but we where debating calling him Nico it was close to my name as well as Nicol’s. “Yes, okay I’ll stay with Nico.” I said as they pushed her away from me. How I wish she will yell at me again or squeeze my hand so hard it feels like it’s breaking but like everything in life it can change in a heartbeat.I was dressed in surgical wear and was taken to the operation room, luckily Nicol was still awake when I walked in. I went to stand at her head and said softly “I’m right here Nicol I’m right here.” “Look after Nico.” Was the last thing she said before she was sleeping. As soon as she was asleep the doctor cut Nicol open and took Nico out, I watched everything I wanted to make sure Nico is okay. He cried immediately, so that was a good sign. “Everything looks good. Mom and baby is doing good.” The doctor said. A nurse started to push Little Nico “Where are you taking him?” I asked her “To the nursery for all his checks.” I looked at Nicol and then back at Nico. I knew she said I should stay with Nico. So, I kissed her on the forehead and went with Nico.

Nico was born via C-section not what I wanted but that is how it worked out. Nico was a healthy baby and Nicolas was a great attentive dad. I felt sorry for Nikki that she didn’t get the attention Nico was getting from her father when she was a baby but everything worked out like it should. Nikki and Nicolas bond was very strong and he could handle her as a teenager much better than I could. Today we are going to have a picnic in Central Park I was so excited. In the
past year Jasmine and Jasper got married and have a little baby. Jason and Kayla are engaged as well as Luther and Mia. JP and Jose are so in love and already moved in together and are talking about adopting a baby. We all are meeting up in Central Park for the first time in months I was so excited. “Nicolas, are you done yet.” I called out to him. He was changing Nico. “Yes, we are on our way.” Nikki was pushing Nico in his stroller and I had the basket with all the goodies. Geoffrey insisted on driving us he said it was too hot to walk with all the stuff we have. I didn’t disagree but it was such a nice day.We got to Central Park and got everyone at the fountain all the babies were in strollers; Nikki had a nice babysitting business going on just without friend’s children. We found a spot where the children can run around or should I say where Nico can crawl and the others run around. Nicolene was 2 and a half and Carly, Kayla’s baby was 1 year old whereas Jasmine’s baby was 2 months old luckily for me Nico wasn’t the youngest. When we all took our seats and packed everything out Nicolene and Cayla went running Nikki behind them to make sure they are okay. Nicolas was chatting to the men when I saw Nico trying to stand. I touched Nicolas’s arm and pointed at Nico I didn’t want to speak and distract him. Everyone’s eyes were on Nico and then he got up and took his first steps, I jumped up and started to scream “Nico Nico you doing so good my boy.” Then he fell on his bum. But Nicolas picked him up and threw him in the air walking to our friends. Luther poured each of us a glass of champagne and Nicolas cleared his throat “I want to make a toast.” “By all means.” Luther said. “I know it wasn’t a nice journey for everyone to be where we are today but I want to say I’m very happy to know you all and I’m very happy to call you, our friends.” “Hear Hear.” Luther, Jason and Jasper said kissing their other halves on the forehead. “And you Mrs. Brown I’m so happy you attended that Christmas Gala you are my other half and I love you more than live itself.
