It was Friday night and the night of the Gala I was so nervous but also excited, all our hard work from the last few weeks is going to pay off of that I was sure, I already got a few donations of people that couldn’t attend. My hair was blow dried straight there wasn’t one curl to be seen which is strange for me but I think I do look beautiful. I had a green Chanel dress on and high heels I’m sure I will regret the high heels when we get home tonight but Nicolas absolutely love my outfit.Nicolas was wearing a tuxedo with a green hanky chief to blend in with me. Together we actually look damn good if I must say so myself. My dress wasn’t tight fitting so you couldn’t see my baby bump which I’m glad about, I’m a bit self-conscious I know I shouldn’t be and Nicolas’s love seeing the bump but still it’s an event and we are the host I don’t want to feel self-conscious. As I walked towards him where he was standing with a glass of scotch at our favorite window in the apartment he turned around. “Every time I see you you look more beautiful than the previous time.” “Thank you handsome.” I said blushing a bit.
Nikki came out of her room with her phone. “Can I take a picture of the two of you?” she asked.“There is going to be so many photographers at the party angel.” I moaned because I didn’t like to take photos. “Just one for me please mum.” “Okay how can I say no.” Nicolas put his arm around me and just before she took the photo he looked at me. “Dad, you looked away.” Nikki moaned and then she looked at the photo. “Oh wow. Mom look.” She came to me with the photo; Nicolas looked so in love with me it’s weird that a photo can show his feelings for me. “This is the best photo of the two of you I think we should frame it.” “Is it because you took it sweet pea?” Nicolas teased her “No you just look so in love with mom.” “it’s because I am.” He kissed me on the forehead “And now we have to leave.” Nicolas said “Don’t go to bed to late.” I told Nikki.“I won’t.” She said hugging both me and Nicolas.
When we arrived at the venue, I was right the whole of New Yorks photographers where there waiting for the first people to arrive. The red carpet was rolled out and the scene was set there was even a huge logo of the charity’s name as a back drop for photos. I know I didn’t do that so it was probable Jason. Thank God for him although he was off with leave, he still pitches in and helped to get the last things done. The little stuff I didn’t thought off. “Mr. Brown, Mr. Brown” the photographers called out to Nicolas. We stopped and posed for photo’s before we walked into the venue.
When we walked into the big hall, I was stunned at how beautiful it looked the flowers, there where flowers everywhere it looked like a Fairy Garden with the flowers and the lights, the round tables where set to perfection and all the flowers as center pieces also had lights in. The whole set up looked so feminine and that is exactly what I was looking for because we are raising money for abused women and children. Nicolas and I didn’t even have time to get a drink before the people started to arrive. We greeted every single last one of our guests I was already tired and dead on my feet.I was under the impression everyone was already here when I saw Jasmine walking towards us with a man on her arm.I smiled from ear to ear. “Jasmine” I said as I walked to her and took her hands in mine. “It’s so nice to see you, I saw your mom and dad earlier and thought you couldn’t make it.” “Sorry it was my fault I ran late at work.” The man said.“Nicol, I would like you to meet my friend, Jasper.” “So nice to meet you.” I said. “Nice to meet you to I heard a lot about you. Thank you for what you did for Jasmine if it wasn’t for you ….” He stopped “Nonsense I’m just happy she’s happy.”I heard Nicolas said “Jasper from the Jasper property group?” “yes” Then I turned all my attention to Jasmine. “You are happy right? He is treating you well?” “Yes, I’m happy Nicol and yes, he treats me like a queen. For the first few weeks I was back home I locked myself in my room I didn’t want to come out and I was so ashamed of what I went through but one night my dad invited Jasper over not to set us up but for business and after dinner we started talking and since that day we talked every day. I won’t say we are a couple yet but we are moving in that direction.” “That make me so happy to hear Jasmine.” I pulled her to me and hugged her.
