It was Monday and the week of the Gala, yesterday we all had a nice relaxing day just what the doctor ordered. Today however will be a hectic day. Nicolas and Nikki has already left for work and school and I was still getting ready and wondering what I’ll do if JP says no. In my heart I knew he won’t say no but still there is always that little chance. I got dressed in a nice cream pants suit with a green camisole probable not the best color when you think about it, I was going to the clinic after all but I was already dress and ready to go. I found Herman in the garage already waiting for me. “Morning Nicol.” “Morning Herman, can you take me to the hospital please.” “Yes, off course.”
When I got to the hospital there was a few women sitting in the waiting room. I walked into a full examining room. “Morning Love.” JP said “Bit busy can you help?” “Yes, off course.” “Great in the back room, girl with a broken rib I think can you check it out.” “Yes.” The girl in the back room did have a broken rib and a blue face all thanks to her father if you can believe it. She ran away from home because her mom didn’t do anything, we wanted to call child services but she ran before we could. About 2 hours later the examining room was empty and the waiting room to. “Elizabeth will you be okay alone I just need JP for the rest of the day.” “Yes, off course I’ll get one of the ER nurses to help when it gets too hectic.” “Thank you, Elizabeth.” “So where are we going?” JP asked “First you need to change.” “Oh, somewhere fancy.” He said smiling. “Just go change JP.” When JP was ready, we got in the SUV and I asked Herman to take us to the Plaza. “The Plaza?” “Yes, we are going to have some tea and cake.” I organized it before hand with Kate the girl that is handling our wedding.
Herman stopped at the Plaza and before JP could open his door the doorman was already there opening the door for him. I wanted JP to feel special today, especially because I’m going to ask him to be my groom’s men. “Oh, thank you.” JP said. We walked into the Plaza and the first person that greeted us was Kate. “Hi Nicol how are you?” she asked. “Hi Kate I’m very good so happy everything is sorted.” “But is it?” she asked winking at me. “Kate this is JP my best friend. JP this is Kate the coordinator of our wedding.” “So nice to meet you.” JP said to her. “Same, come through.” She took us to the venue of our wedding where in the middle of the room there was a table made up just for me and JP. “And this?” JP asked. “This is the venue for my wedding.” “Oh, wow Nicol.” “We were lucky or should I say it helps that Nicolas has money.” He hugged me and said “You deserve it love.” “Thank you, JP now let’s, go drink our tea.” In front of JP was a cake one he has to light the top part of and at the bottom there will stand ‘Will you be my grooms’ man?’ “Oh, this is sweet is this for both of us?” JP said when he looked at the cake. “It is but you first have to burn the top part, the lighter is right next to you.” He looked confused “Where to I light it, it’s not like it’s a candle.” “Anywhere except for the icing.”
JP light the piece of paper on top of the cake and watched as it burned, I could see on his face the moment he saw the words he looked at me totally stunned “Are you sure?” “Off course I am you are my best friend you’ve been with me through thick and thin off course I want you to stand by my side the day I marry the man of my dreams.” He got up and helped me to stand to, then he hugged me “It would be my honor Nicol, so Yes yes yes 1000 times yes.” He gave me a last hug then he went to sit again pouring each of us a cup of tea and cutting the cake. We took a bite and a sip of our tea. “So, what is my first task as your groomsman?” “It’s a very difficult one and it’s something that needs to be done today.” “Okay and that is?” “My wedding dress, Nikki has one she wants me to wear and I have one I like.” “Then you take the one you like.” JP said. “It’s simple it’s your wedding.” “I know but the problem is I like both.” “Both equally?” “They are so different from each other. Will you please come with us this afternoon and give your opinion?” “Yes, off course.” “Thank you, JP, and then I will organize to get you fitted with a tuxedo when Nicolas and Luther goes.” “Just tell me the date and time and I will be there.” “You are the best.” We chatted about the clinic and how busy it was, then we switched to the Gala that is held this Friday “Are you bringing a date?” I asked JP. “Where should I get one of those? I’m way to busy.” “I’m sorry JP.” “Why? If I wanted a boyfriend I would have made time for one, I don’t want one. Not now.” Then I remembered about my hairdresser the two of them didn’t even meet yet. It was time I jump in and make a plan. We finished our tea and cake and it was basically time to go and fetch Nikki from school. “You ready for Nikki because she’s a lot at the moment. The hormones are taking her on a trip, I don’t even want to know how she’s going to be when she’s 16.” “Off course I’m ready I can handle her.” “If you say so.” I said smiling at JP.
