It’s been a week since Kayla went into labor and sweet little Kayla was born. Yes, Kayla is doing well but she hasn’t chosen a name yet and Jason is trying to convince her to give the baby his surname he wants to be the one to provide for them even if things doesn’t work out between the two of them. Needless to say, they have a lot to discuss. Nicolas and I decorated Kayla and the babies’ room, while they were still in hospital today is the big day when everyone is going home. Needless to say, after Nicolas had the discussion with Dr. Versace about the staff’s behavior Jason was treated like a king like I said they even got him a bed to sleep next to Kayla they looked after him like he was a VIP. I’m so happy for them especially for Kayla she got a good man in Jason then there is Mia who also got a great man in Luther, her divorce is almost final, Luther threw the book at her ex, I’m sure he just wants the divorce to be over because Luther dragged his name through the mud with everything that came out in this short time.
Then off course there is Nicolas, Nikki and I. Nicolas and I have almost no time for each other and Nikki, well Nikki is still sad about Kevin. I know it’s her first boyfriend and everything so I get it I just wished it didn’t hurt as much as it did. The Gala was next week and I was so nervous but I did get great news apparently Jasmine will be attending with her mother and father but the good news is she is bringing a plus one and it can’t be her ex because her parents wouldn’t allow that. I was so excited to see her again and to catch up with what was going on in her life since I left her with her parents that day.
The shelters we were sponsoring where doing very well, and the Gala will make it possible to do so much more, the clinic was thriving Dr Versace even said he didn’t know why he didn’t think of this years ago. Nicolas had an answer for that because he was thinking about profit and not the people that needed help. I on the other hand wasn’t that involved with the shelters anymore, I would call and visit with the managers but I didn’t get involved with the women, Nicolas ask me very nicely that I don’t do that again and I agreed I just got to emotionally involved with Mia, Kayla and Jasmine. Don’t get me wrong all 3 of them landed on their feet and I would do it again if I had to do it all over again but it took a lot out of me getting that involved in their lives and it did have an effect on my own health even if I didn’t want to admit it to Nicolas.
The wedding was planned we even had our menu, our invitations was send and my hand bouquet which we all forgot about was finalized overall I was very happy with the wedding planning. And we did everything without Jason and Kayla, which I was very proud of. Nikki was ecstatic that the wedding is being held in the Plaza all she can talk about when we speak about the wedding is like who’s wedding mine would look like in Wedding Wars, Kate Hudson or Anne Hathaway, all I told her is that she would have to wait and see. I don’t have a dress yet but that search starts today after school off course Nikki wanted to come with me and off course, I wanted her with me. It would be fun having someone with no filter telling me exactly how I look. Maybe I should skip taking Nikki with I thought and started laughing behind my desk.
“What you laughing about?” Nicolas asked as he walked into my office. “Oh, just the fact that I’m taking your very opinioned daughter with me to go look for a wedding dress.” “Oh dear….” “Yes, well my thoughts exactly.” He walked over to me took my hands and lifted me from my chair. When I was in his arms and he was holding me, he asked “Why does it feel like I haven’t seen you in a week?” “Because we were busy Nicolas, you with work and then we needed to sort out the wedding as well, it’s been a rough week.” “Fuck you can say that again. What about we do our normal think Pizza and movies tonight, I thing not only do we need it but Nikki as well.” “I agree.” “And then tomorrow night it’s date night just you and me.” “That sounds like heaven on earth.” “Great then that’s a date.” He said hugging me and kissing me on the forehead.
“I need to go Nicolas.” “You sure you ready for her honesty?” “Not really but I’ll make her choose first before I fit. Then she can’t be too judgmental.” We both laughed. “Clearly you know how to handle our daughter.” “Lots of practice.” I said winking at him.
Herman was waiting for me at the SUV and we drove to the school where Rika and Nicol was actually waiting for us outside. As soon as Herman stopped the SUV Nikki jumped into the car. “Hi angel Why are you in such a rush?” “We’re going wedding dress shopping why wouldn’t I be in such a rush, my mom is finally going to be a Brown just like me and dad.” Clearly the surname thing was something that bothered her just like her father.
