I was starting to get emotional, Nicolas, Luther, Mia, Geoffrey, Herman and me were sitting in the waiting area, I didn’t know what could take so long except …. no I can’t go there. I tried to find out with every nurse that came out but I should know better they won’t say anything. I don’t know how long we sat there I do however know the others have had a few cups of coffee in and I had a few cups of tea, little Nicolene was getting restless but she wasn’t the only one. When Jason finally appeared at the waiting room, I thought I could kiss him. “What’s going on why did it take so long?” I bombarded him with questions. “Sweetheart give Jason some space then he can answer us.” I stood a few feet away from him, I could see he was crying. But I didn’t ask another question I waited.
“The baby is fine they had to give her CPR to breath but she’s okay now. Kayla flatlined on the table.” “Oh God no.” Mia said from the back. “No don’t worry Mia she’s okay, that is why it took so long they had to resuscitate her and close her, I only got to see her a few minutes ago. I’m actually so angry with the nurses they didn’t even come to look for me and tell me Kayla is okay, I had to go and search for answers.” “That’s bullshit, I’ll speak to the head of the hospital.” Nicolas said. “Thank you, Nicolas.” “Can we see the baby?” I asked because I knew we won’t be allowed to see Kayla. “Yes, come with me.” Nicolas and I went with Jason. I knew the nurse that worked in the nursery so she let us in. Jason picked the baby up and said “For now I’m calling her Little Kayla so Nicolas, Nicol meets Little Kayla.” I took the baby from Jason. “She’s perfect.” I said while Nicolas touched her little hand. “I have nothing here for her.” Jason said. “I’ll go and buy her a few stuffs and PJs for Kayla as well she might be here for a while. Have you thought about what you are going to do when Little Kayla here gets out before Kayla.” “No, I’m taking it hour by hour for now.”
“Take leave Jason.” “I can’t there is so much to do I promise I’ll help with your wedding and then there is the Gala.” “I’m sure I can handle a few RSVP’s Jason; we’ll be fine without the two of you.” “Are you sure Nicolas?” “Yes, Jason you are always there for me and you never take leave I’m telling you to take leave know Nicol and I will cope don’t worry about it.” “Thank you Nicolas, Nicol I really appreciate it.” “You just take care of this sweet baby here and Kayla that is all you need to think about.” I told him. Jason took out his wallet and gave me a black card, I was a little confuse isn’t that for the elite, I know I have one but it’s because of Nicolas’s account not my own. “Close your mouth sweetheart, why do you think he never takes leave? Because I pay him enough.” “Yes, well now I have someone to spend my money on.” Jason said with a smile. “Can we bring you something?” I asked him because by the looks of it he wasn’t going to leave the hospital any time soon. And after Nicolas goes to Dr. Versace, they’ll probable wheel in a bed for him. “Yes, please there is a go bag under my bed….” “A go bag?” I asked confused. “Yes, sweetheart I have one as well it’s for when that sudden meeting overseas pops up and we have to leave immediately.” “Oh okay” I said but still confused. “Everything is in there except obviously my suits but if you can bring that with maybe 2 sweatpants and 2-shirts I would really appreciate it.” “Consider it done.” Nicolas told him. He gave his house keys to Nicolas and I gave Little Kayla back to the nurse; she was getting fussy so she was probable hungry. “We’ll bring the stuff by the end of day Jason don’t worry.” “Thank you.”

When we walked into the nursery and Nicol took the baby she looked like a natural, so soft with little Kayla, when I touched her, she felt so soft and weird I know but new, the world hasn’t corrupted her yet which was the best feeling there ever could be although she almost did grow up without a mother. I gave Jason leave yes, I know it’s a very shitty time for him to take leave but Kayla and the baby should come first now, Kayla wanted him here or else she wouldn’t have said he was the father. I’m sure between Nicol, Luther and maybe Mia we will get everything done in time.
When we got back to the waiting room Nicol told Mia how beautiful little Kayla was and I jumped into action. “Herman here take Jason’s house keys his got a go bag underneath his bed, grab that and two sweat pants and two shirts……” Luther interrupted, “Make that 5 shirts babies throw up a lot.” I smiled at Luther I’ve never thought I hear him say something like that. “Then bring it back to the hospital I’m sure Jason want to get comfortable.” To tell you the truth there was still blood on him and when he realized it, he might freak out thinking about what could have been. “What can I do?” Mia asked. It was Luther that said “Mia I don’t want to tell you what to do but you are still recovering and you have Nicolene to look after.” “I know Luther but I want to help.” It was Nicol that jumped in. “Can I send you the RSVPs from the Gala and you can sort it out at Luther’s place that would be a very big help to me.” “Yes, off course I would love to.” “Well then that is sorted.” I said. Everyone left except me, Nicol and Geoffrey. It was Nicol that knew what I wanted to do “You want to go to Versace right?” “So, fucking much.” “Can that wait until tomorrow, I think Kayla and the baby needs us more now, Jason can fight his own battle for tonight.” “Okay fine where are we going?” “Target.”
