Chapter 418 The End of the Main Text [Part Two]

Chapter 418 The End of the Main Text [Part Two]

Elizabeth felt proud seeing how quickly Seraphina could regain her composure.

Elizabeth smiled with relief, "Seraphina, you've grown up and have your own judgment. Your dad and I both trust that you can handle all of this. We'll always have your back."

Seraphina took a deep breath and pulled herself together, "Thank you, Mom. I need to call Stefan back first."

Stefan had already called her several times and sent her several text messages.

Elizabeth nodded and gently patted her shoulder, "Okay, go have a good talk with Stefan."

Seraphina went into her room to make the call.

"Elizabeth, Seraphina will handle this," Mabel comforted her.

Elizabeth acknowledged with a sound. Actually, what Elizabeth was most worried about now was Timothy's physical condition.

Although Elizabeth appeared calm on the surface, she was actually very anxious inside. "These next few days, Brandon will stay with you guys. I'll get his luggage for you."

Mabel nodded in agreement, "We'll take good care of Brandon."

Elizabeth first went to pack Brandon's luggage, organized some daily necessities, and handed them to Mabel, "Thank you."

"Elizabeth, don't worry. Alfonso is really good with kids." Mabel pulled the luggage back to the room.

After arranging these things, Elizabeth went to the room to stay with Timothy.

She sat by the bed, her eyes constantly on Timothy's face.

Border Ridge City.

Ever since Jane received that phone call from Majestic City, she'd been in a great mood.

Seraphina's wedding was canceled - what wonderful news.

Jane hadn't done much, just had someone kindly inform the Barnett family about Stefan's wedding. She never expected such a bonus result.

Sloane saw that after Jane took a call, she couldn't hide her smile. Sloane put down her teacup and asked curiously, "Jane, what's making you so happy?"

Jane smiled. After having the butler and servants leave, she shared with Sloane, "Seraphina and Stefan's wedding has been canceled."

Sloane was slightly stunned at the news, then showed a faint smile, "Why was their wedding canceled?"

Jane smiled proudly, "I just let the Barnett family know the time and place of their wedding, and I didn't expect it would actually ruin the wedding."

Sloane smiled slightly, "Won't you get caught doing this?"

Jane snorted lightly, "Don't worry, no one will find out. I'm not that stupid. I had someone else make the call to handle this."

Sloane didn't say anything more, just nodded.

Just as Jane thought.

Stefan sent people to investigate who told the Barnett family about his wedding, and they traced it to a stranger who was paid to do it.

Clearly this person wasn't the mastermind.

"Mom, Dad, I'm sorry for embarrassing you." Stefan rubbed his temples and apologized to Kennedy and Damon sitting on the sofa.

Kennedy and Damon sat on the sofa, both looking unhappy.

Kennedy's voice carried a hint of complaint, "Stefan, this isn't your fault. You didn't expect the Barnett family to make a scene today. But the Robinson family canceled the wedding over this, which really makes me feel embarrassed."

Stefan said quietly, "Mom, I know you feel embarrassed, but this isn't Seraphina and her family's fault. Mr. Robinson and his family are just protective of Seraphina. No matter what, this is my responsibility."

Kennedy's expression grew even worse.

Damon frowned, his words carrying some helplessness, "Stefan, what does the Robinson family say? Is the marriage between our families being canceled?"

Stefan said, "Tomorrow I'll go talk with Seraphina properly. No matter what, I want to try to keep the wedding going. Seraphina is the person I want to spend my life with."

Kennedy was actually already unhappy with Seraphina, but seeing Stefan so insistent, Kennedy could only choose to compromise for now.

The next day, eight in the morning.

Seraphina first went to tell Timothy and Elizabeth she was going out to talk with Stefan.

Timothy had already woken up this morning, so they managed to hide from Seraphina the fact that he'd had a health issue yesterday.

After Seraphina left, Elizabeth looked at Timothy with a firm attitude, "I've already had Joe arrange a flight. We're going back this afternoon. There's no medical equipment here that can save your life."

Elizabeth was afraid he would suddenly collapse again.

Timothy smiled gently, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Elizabeth glanced at him and snorted, "And you can still smile."

Timothy immediately put on a crying face, trying to cheer Elizabeth up.

Elizabeth was speechless.

At the same time, Seraphina had just reached the hotel entrance when she saw Stefan.

He must not have rested well last night - he looked somewhat tired. Seraphina hadn't rested well last night either.

Seraphina got in the car, "Let's just talk in the car. I only want to ask you one thing. When you first approached me, it was because of Eleanor, wasn't it?"

Seraphina looked at Stefan seriously, "Don't lie to me."

Stefan's hands on the steering wheel tightened slightly. He was silent for a moment, then turned to look at Seraphina, his eyes full of complicated emotions.

"Seraphina," his voice was low and sincere, "at first, I did approach you because of Eleanor, but please don't misunderstand. It wasn't because I loved her or liked her. At that time, I often couldn't sleep at night because of her death, and that's why I approached you."

He paused, then said gently, "As we spent more and more time together, I found myself truly falling for you. I admit, at first I did have selfish motives, but later, I got close to you completely because I love you, not because of anyone else."

Seraphina listened quietly. She pressed her lips together and nodded lightly, "I understand."

After Stefan said this, he felt relieved, "Seraphina, besides this, I haven't hidden anything else from you."

Seraphina looked at him, warmth gradually returning to her eyes, but the words she spoke were like a knife stabbing into Stefan's heart, "Stefan, I think we shouldn't be together anymore."

The relaxed expression on Stefan's face instantly froze. He stared at Seraphina in shock.

He asked in disbelief, "Seraphina, what are you saying? Why?"

Seraphina smiled slightly, "Stefan, I feel uncomfortable inside. I hate my own body. I hate that you did a good deed for another woman."
