Chapter 375 This Scene Is Very Disgusting
After hearing what Gavin relayed from Seraphina, Demetrius thought for a moment and said, "Call Ms. Johnson from the Robinson Group and decline the collaboration with them."
Gavin wasn't surprised at all. He acknowledged with a yes.
Sloane was preparing to leave the hospital when she received Gavin's call.
When she heard the news that Demetrius was refusing to work with the Robinson Group, her heart sank.
But she still asked calmly and politely in a soft voice, "Mr. Dixon, may I ask why?"
On the other end of the phone, Gavin replied in a gentle tone, "Ms. Johnson, before making this decision, Mr. Kramer considered many factors. In the end, Mr. Kramer felt that only Seraphina Enterprises fully meets our expectations for the current collaboration terms."
When Sloane heard the name Seraphina Enterprises, she quietly told herself to stay calm.
It was because of Seraphina Enterprises that she had planned to secure this collaboration with the Kramer Group by offering more profit, but she still failed.
She forced a smile, "Mr. Dixon, the Robinson Group is only taking one layer of profit, which should make up for temporary shortcomings in sales and other areas. Can I talk to Mr. Kramer again?"
Gavin replied politely, "Mr. Kramer is in Majestic City and it's not very convenient to meet recently."
Sloane smiled faintly, "I understand. Thank you for Mr. Kramer's consideration. If there's an opportunity in the future, we still hope to have a chance to work together."
After hanging up, Sloane fell into deep thought.
This failure might be because the Robinson Group was entering this new pharmaceutical field for the first time.
She turned to Tommy and said, "Tommy, I need to go back to the company first."
She didn't tell Tommy what happened at the company, because it wouldn't help anyway.
Tommy was worried about her health. He clearly didn't approve of her going to the company right after being discharged, "You just got out of the hospital, you should go home and rest. Are all the people at the company useless?"
Sloane smiled with pursed lips, "Some things need me to handle personally."
Tommy had no choice with Sloane and personally drove her to the company.
The car stopped at the entrance of the Robinson Group building.
Tommy kissed Sloane and said tenderly, "I won't be coming home tonight, go to bed early."
Sloane nodded with a faint smile.
She got out of the car, walked into the company, took the elevator straight to the top floor. As she walked out of the elevator and passed Stefan's position, she called him into the office.
"Mr. Kramer's assistant called me. Mr. Kramer chose to work with Seraphina Enterprises." Sloane sat in her chair, rubbing her forehead.
This cross-industry expansion into new business was one of her important decisions. If it wasn't successful, those board members would surely question her abilities.
Hearing this news, Stefan's expression didn't change much, "Ms. Johnson, expanding into new business across industries always carries some risk. Mr. Kramer choosing Seraphina Enterprises might be because they have more experience in this field."
Sloane smiled with pursed lips, her tone somewhat helpless, "This is my first major decision failure since taking charge of the company. The board will probably have a lot of opinions. Notify the relevant departments to hold a meeting. We need to at least come up with an alternative plan to give the board an explanation."
Stefan checked the time. He had originally planned to take leave this afternoon to pick up Seraphina, but if he attended the meeting, he wouldn't be able to pick her up. "Ms. Johnson, I need to take leave this afternoon for something. I'll arrange for my assistant to attend the meeting."
Sloane nodded, "Okay. Mr. Hensley, there's one more thing. Please have someone look into the pharmaceutical agency rights and find out how much profit Seraphina Enterprises gave to the Kramer Group."
She guessed it was probably a fifty-fifty profit split, otherwise the Robinson Group couldn't have lost to Seraphina Enterprises.
Stefan acknowledged with a yes.
The plane landed at Border Ridge City airport.
As Seraphina walked out of the arrival hall, she saw Stefan's figure.
Stefan was wearing a white shirt and dress pants, tall and eye-catching.
Seeing her, Stefan showed a warm smile.
He walked over with long strides, his eyes full of tenderness.
Seraphina couldn't help but think to herself, "Stefan is really handsome."
Stefan approached, took the things Seraphina was carrying, and took the bag from her back, "Are you hungry? Want to get something to eat first?"
Seraphina nodded, "Yes, let's eat first."
While driving, Stefan asked gently, "Did your trip to Majestic City go smoothly?"
They worked at different companies, so it wasn't appropriate for them to discuss specific work details with each other.
Every company has its rules - anything involving company work content can't be disclosed, otherwise it violates the contract and the company has the right to sue.
Seraphina thought for a moment, "I guess it went pretty smoothly, with one percent uncertainty remaining."
She couldn't guarantee that Demetrius wouldn't make other decisions in the heat of the moment.
Stefan casually asked Seraphina about her impression of Majestic City, "What do you think of the environment there? After we get married, would it be okay to live in Majestic City?"
He couldn't stay in Border Ridge City forever. His father Damon was already urging him to go back and take over the company.
Seraphina would have to take over managing Seraphina Enterprises, so she couldn't possibly go to Majestic City after marriage.
She smiled and suggested, "Can't you stay and develop your career in Border Ridge City in the future?"
Stefan pondered for a moment, "Dione, I don't want to lie to you, that's probably not possible."
The car drove all the way to the restaurant.
As they were about to get out, Seraphina said, "Then we can only be frequent flyers, meeting once every so often."
This would be very challenging for their future relationship.
A married couple living apart for years obviously wouldn't work.
Stefan didn't plan to persuade Seraphina to go to Majestic City right now. This could be discussed later.
They went to the restaurant. Seraphina had just opened the menu when Stefan's phone rang.
He looked at the caller ID - it was Sloane.
He answered the call. On the other end, Sloane asked him about some documents.
"I'll send them to you shortly," Stefan said.
He hung up the phone, logged into his email, and sent Sloane the documents she wanted.
Seraphina perked up her ears and listened to a sentence or two of the conversation, then cleared her throat and called the waiter to order.
Stefan looked at Seraphina with a smile in his eyes, teasing her, "What are you doing?"
They looked at each other for a moment and laughed in understanding.
Stefan picked up the teapot and poured water for Seraphina, "Do you want to go home and rest later, or rest at my place?"
Seraphina looked up at Stefan and blinked playfully, "I'll go to your place first."
Stefan nodded, his smile unwavering, "Okay."
After the dishes were served, they ate.
Just then, an old woman and a young man entering the restaurant caught Seraphina's attention.
The older one was Freya, and the younger one was Herschel's son Gino.
Stefan noticed Seraphina's gaze and followed her line of sight, also seeing Freya and Gino. Stefan asked in a low voice, "What's wrong? Do you know them?"
Seraphina chuckled softly, "Sort of, but we don't really have any connection."
She just felt sorry for Elizabeth.
Freya looked at the restaurant with a critical eye, then turned and quietly tried to persuade Gino, "Gino, this restaurant doesn't look very good. Let's go to another one?"
Gino was a bit reluctant. He was hungry, "Grandma, this place is fine too. Let's just try it?"
Freya reluctantly agreed. The waiter led them to a table, which happened to be right next to Seraphina's.
Seraphina didn't look at the next table anymore. She added some vegetables to Stefan's bowl, "Your favorite water spinach."
Stefan obediently ate what she gave him, and he also fed food to Seraphina.
Freya at the next table happened to see Stefan feeding Seraphina. Freya frowned, a hint of disgust showing in her eyes.
Freya thought this scene was disgusting. She looked away, unwilling to watch anymore.
