Chapter 334: It's Okay If It Can't Be Found!
The next morning.
Maya woke up early and didn't see Alfonso. She assumed he had left early for work.
Sophia sat in the living room waiting for Maya to finish breakfast, ready to accompany Maya on a walk.
"Ms. Coleman, I want to tell you some good news." Sophia linked her arm with Maya's as they walked in the park downstairs.
Sophia wore a gentle smile on her face. "It's really good news."
Maya rarely showed a smile. The dark cloud that had lingered due to the cold war with her son Alfonso seemed to lift slightly. "What good news?"
"Alfonso and I are getting married," Sophia said with a smile.
"What?" Maya stopped in her tracks, gripping Sophia's arm tightly. Maya asked with shock and joy, "Really? Did Alfonso agree to it?"
Sophia ignored the pain in her arm and nodded, a hint of tenderness in her eyes. "He agreed. Ms. Coleman, you should know that Alfonso has always been devoted to you. He wants you to be happy too."
"Good, good, good. Marriage, marriage, that's wonderful." Maya was so happy she could barely speak coherently.
Alfonso had finally stopped arguing with her over Mabel.
Still, Maya had some doubts, but seeing Sophia's smile, Maya chose to believe. "Sophia, you're such a good girl. I'm really happy that you're willing to be with Alfonso."
Sophia smiled.
"I'm going to look for a good day for your wedding right now. There's so much to prepare for your marriage."
After saying this, Maya wanted to pull Sophia back home. Maya couldn't wait to find a suitable wedding date.
Sophia held Maya back. "Ms. Coleman, don't rush. We can take our time finding a wedding date. Alfonso is going on a business trip these next few days. We can discuss this together when he gets back."
Maya frowned. "Alfonso is on a business trip? He's not going to see Mabel?"
Sophia smiled and said, "Yes, a business trip."
Meanwhile, at Little Fish Village on the West Coast.
When Mabel saw Alfonso appearing at her door, she wasn't surprised at all.
She had scheduled an abortion yesterday, but two men had stopped her. She had already guessed that Alfonso would chase after her.
Alfonso walked into the house. He first looked around at the furnishings. Many decorations in the house were fish-related—quirky and cozy.
The fishing village cottage was simple but full of life.
The sea breeze outside gently blew, carrying a hint of salty dampness.
"Mabel Darling, do you like living here? I'll move here in the future to be with you and the baby." Alfonso said pitifully, folding his long legs as he sat on the small sofa.
Mabel looked at him, complex emotions in her eyes. "You'd better not come here to be with me. I'm worried about hurting your mother again."
Maya's previous wrist-cutting was too terrifying.
Alfonso stood up and walked to Mabel's side. He crouched down and gently held her hand.
"I was wrong. I didn't expect my mother to do something so extreme. This is all my fault for not handling things well. You've suffered because of me. Don't worry, my mother won't come to bother you anymore."
Mabel looked at Alfonso with confusion. "What do you mean? Did Ms. Coleman agree to let us be together?"
Alfonso smiled faintly and shook his head. "She didn't agree, but we won't live in Avalonia anymore. As long as we don't appear in front of her, she won't do anything extreme."
He didn't plan to tell Mabel about his upcoming marriage to Sophia just yet.
He and Sophia would only be married for a few days, and after that, he would divorce Sophia.
Mabel lowered her head and was silent for a while. She felt conflicted and struggled inside. She actually couldn't bear to part with the baby in her belly either.
Alfonso didn't immediately pressure Mabel to agree. He reached out and gently touched her abdomen. "Mabel Darling, I'll go back to Avalonia first to arrange things at the company, then come back to be with you and the baby. Don't run away again, okay?"
Back home, Elizabeth had just transferred to a small inn in Cloudy Town when she received a call from Mabel.
Mabel told Elizabeth that Alfonso had found her. "Elizabeth, he's already found me, and he says he'll live with me and the baby on the West Coast in the future."
Max opened the car door, and Elizabeth got out.
Elizabeth got out of the car while talking to Mabel. "Mabel, what do you think?"
Mabel placed her hand on her belly, a hint of envy and longing in her eyes. Her voice was calm. "I want the baby to have a complete family."
If possible, she still wanted to keep the baby.
Elizabeth understood what Mabel meant. Elizabeth smiled gently. "Good, we'll all wish you well."
Mabel nodded. "Thank you."
They talked for a while, then hung up.
Elizabeth put her phone in her purse and looked around.
Cloudy Town was in a remote area. The equipment in the small inns here was quite old.
The inn's owner, Rainey, was a woman in her fifties with a kind face. Her eyes showed curiosity at the moment.
Rainey looked at Elizabeth curiously, then at the three men behind her. "Four rooms. I'll take you upstairs. Are you here for tourism?"
"Thank you, we're here looking for someone," Elizabeth said politely.
Rainey nodded. She didn't feel comfortable asking more about the guests' business.
Rainey led them up the stairs. The small inn had no elevator.
The rooms were simple but fairly clean and tidy.
Elizabeth couldn't possibly stay here for just a few days. If they weren't worried that openly searching for Seraphina might alert the bad guys, they wouldn't be so cautious in their search.
After Rainey left the room, Max closed the door and walked over to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth opened a map of Cloudy Town. "This town has a population of 80,000, covering a total area of 77 square miles, with eight communities and 15 administrative villages. We'll start by checking the eight communities. More people will be arranged to come tomorrow."
"The four of us will be responsible for Galaxy Community starting tomorrow. When the rest of the team arrives tomorrow, we'll assign them to other communities."
Max agreed. "Should we go out and look around now?"
Elizabeth checked the time and nodded. "Okay, we'll be staying here for quite a while. Send someone to find a house to rent. Staying at the inn isn't convenient for our operations."
One of the bodyguards nodded and left the room. He was responsible for finding a house.
When Cecilia boarded the plane with Tommy and Jane, heading to Sylvanor, Cecilia glanced at a message from the private investigator.
[Ms. Penrose went to Cloudy Town]
Cecilia deleted the message and sneered inwardly. Go ahead, Elizabeth won't find anyone anyway.
After all, it was just false information.
Jane, sitting next to Cecilia, took out a small mirror to look at the pink diamond hairpin in her hair, while Tommy kept his head down playing games.
Cecilia looked at Jane and Tommy. Cecilia put on her sunglasses, her eyes cold.
Fortunately, she, Cecilia, still had Sloane, her smart great-granddaughter.
And Elizabeth and Timothy's daughter Seraphina was still missing, and might never be found.
It would be better if she's never found!
Consider it payment for Armando's life!
To the west of Cloudy Town was Bluebird Town, surrounded by mountains on all sides.
And Whispering Town was part of Bluebird Town.
Bluebird Town was mostly mountains, poor and backward, while the living standards of Cloudy Town residents were better than those in Bluebird Town.
Milan bought a three-bedroom, two-living-room apartment in Bluebird Town. The house was already fully furnished.
Milan and his family moved into their new home today.
