Chapter 331: If It's Just for Show
Irvin saw Armando leaving with a suitcase through the security camera installed at his hallway entrance.
He first sent a message to Brynn to find out what was going on.
[Brynn, I saw your husband leaving with a suitcase. Did you guys have a fight?]
This kind of fake concern was something Irvin was really good at, since he was determined to find a rich woman to support him.
When Brynn saw Irvin's message and thought about the upcoming divorce, she immediately called Armando. "When are you coming back to The Potts Mansion to move your stuff out!"
Armando, sitting in his car, saw Brynn's message but pretended not to see it and chose not to reply.
Brynn then asked Tyrell and only found out from him that Armando was going on a business trip to Lumaria tomorrow.
She scoffed to herself, thinking that he was about to get kicked out of the Potts Group, yet he was still so eager to work. She even wondered if Armando couldn't bear to leave the Potts Group and didn't want the divorce anymore.
Brynn replied to Irvin: [Armando is going to Lumaria on a business trip. We'll get divorced when he comes back. I had already called him to go get divorced tomorrow, but who knew he still had to go on this business trip. I don't know what he's thinking.]
Irvin saw Brynn's reply and happily took a screenshot of her message and sent it to Lyle.
When Lyle saw the screenshot Irvin sent, he immediately arranged for people to keep a close eye on Armando.
At seven in the evening, Elizabeth learned about Armando's trip abroad from a screenshot that Lyle had forwarded to her.
"Mr. Robinson, do you have any connections in Lumaria? Armando is going there on a business trip tomorrow. I think something's off."
While feeding Timothy an apple, Elizabeth analyzed with confusion, "After Brynn divorces him, the Potts family won't let him continue working at the Potts Group. Yet Armando can still go on a business trip for the Potts Group in this situation. That's strange."
Timothy accepted Elizabeth's feeding and ate the apple. He stopped his work, raised his eyebrows, and said, "It is a bit strange that Armando would still go to Lumaria in this situation. When he gets to Lumaria, do you want someone to keep following him? Or what do you have in mind?"
"I'm not sure, but I just feel like things aren't that simple," Elizabeth ate some apple herself and thought for a moment before saying, "Let's have someone follow him first, and if anything seems wrong, we'll act accordingly."
Timothy nodded and called his subordinates to arrange it.
After Timothy hung up the phone.
Elizabeth brought up another matter. "About the new manager for Seraphina Enterprises, I already have someone in mind. I believe he can handle the job."
Timothy smiled slightly. "Robbie?"
The two were very much in sync.
Elizabeth smiled and nodded. "Yes, that's right."
After saying this, she suddenly fell quiet.
She put down the fruit plate, went to open a drawer, and took out a map of the country.
She walked back to sit beside Timothy and unfolded the map. "Mr. Robinson, I don't know where to start looking for Seraphina. I plan to go from south to north, starting from towns to villages. As for the city areas, they're too big, so I'll leave those for later."
She would spend the rest of her life searching every place for Seraphina.
Actually, both Elizabeth and Timothy were very anxious. If Seraphina had grown up, her appearance would definitely have changed.
They didn't know what Seraphina would look like now after having plastic surgery at such a young age.
Timothy held Elizabeth's cool hand. "Where do you want to start looking?"
Elizabeth had already studied the map. She pointed to a place. "The southernmost part, here."
Timothy looked at where she was pointing and nodded. "Okay, we'll start from there. Give me a bit more time. The lawyer is currently helping with the custody issues."
Elizabeth smiled and rested her head on Timothy's shoulder, sighing. "Mr. Robinson, I plan to go look first, and you can join me later."
Timothy didn't plan to stop Elizabeth from going first. He respected her and said in a hoarse voice, "Okay."
The next morning, at Seraphina Enterprises.
Robbie and Jacob were called into the office by Elizabeth.
Elizabeth stood up from her chair and walked to the sofa, gesturing for Robbie and Jacob to sit down.
She personally poured tea for both of them.
She put down the teapot and looked up at them. "From when I took over Seraphina Enterprises until now, thank you both for your help."
Elizabeth's sudden politeness made Robbie and Jacob's minds race.
Were they about to be fired by Elizabeth?
Elizabeth didn't know that her momentary gentle politeness had made these two think so far ahead.
She continued, "I'm going to put more of my time and energy into finding Seraphina. I've found the right person to take over the company. He has enough experience and ability, and I believe he'll lead Seraphina Enterprises to continue growing."
Seraphina Enterprises was currently on an upward trend, and yet in this situation, Elizabeth didn't hesitate to step away.
Although Robbie felt a bit regretful, he still asked professionally, "Who will be the future chairman?"
Some chairmen prefer to use their own people, so their positions might change.
Elizabeth looked at Robbie and smiled, temporarily not answering his question. Instead, she turned to look at Jacob. "Mr. Grant, I plan to adjust your position. From now on, you'll be the Chief Assistant."
Jacob was stunned and instinctively looked at Robbie. "What about Robbie?"
Although Jacob had joked with Robbie a while ago about taking his position as Chief Assistant, it was just a joke.
Elizabeth smiled meaningfully and joked, "Robbie will be your boss from now on. He's the future chairman."
Jacob was instantly dumbfounded and fell silent.
Robbie was also a bit surprised, but he quickly recovered. Seeing Jacob's suddenly dejected look, he laughed. "Working under me, are you upset about that?"
Jacob straightened up and grinned. "Robbie, congratulations! I'm counting on you for my future raises."
Robbie smiled and patted Jacob's shoulder. "Don't worry, Jacob. As long as you work hard, future raises are definitely not a problem."
Elizabeth watched them banter to lighten the mood with amusement, then started talking about the real business.
Elizabeth always demanded speed in her work. After discussing with Robbie, she immediately called a shareholders' meeting.
Since Elizabeth held a large amount of shares, and after Maddox and the others had caused so much trouble, there weren't many shareholders left, her decision was quickly approved.
The company released an announcement about the management change, which immediately caused quite a stir.
Seraphina Enterprises' PR department immediately took action, issuing a statement that all business operations were normal and emphasizing that this management change would not affect the company's operations.
Elizabeth's actions were swift and decisive, leaving people in Border Ridge City's circles stunned by the news.
Some speculated, "Is Elizabeth going back to the Nightingale Group to take over?"
"Is she going to start fighting with Herschel?"
Freya had already received several calls from people asking, either directly or indirectly, why Elizabeth wasn't continuing to manage Seraphina Enterprises.
After hanging up yet another call, Freya turned to Juniper and complained, "What's wrong with these people? If they have questions, why don't they ask the person directly instead of asking me?"
"Besides, Herschel is managing the Nightingale Group just fine. How could she possibly let her come back to manage the company!"
