Chapter 290 The Person is Missing
The plane arrived in Silverlight City.
The Silverlight City Police Department was also fully cooperating, having already pulled the surveillance footage along the route.
Philip stayed in touch with the officers on site by phone, constantly updating information.
Just then, Timothy's phone rang. It was a call from one of his men.
"Boss, we found surveillance footage outside a dessert shop. An hour ago, that man was with Ms. Penrose. They got into a van. The video has been sent to you. We're tracking where the van went now."
Timothy opened his computer to check the video in the email.
Elizabeth also leaned in to look at the computer.
"Armando?" Elizabeth frowned.
Timothy forwarded the video to Philip.
"I'll send someone to find Armando and ask him about the situation." Timothy immediately made a call.
Armando had just walked out of the restaurant with Brynn and the others when Timothy's people came looking for him. Thinking about what happened at the dessert shop, Armando had a pretty good idea what this was about.
Brynn frowned and questioned Armando in a low voice, "What did you do now?"
Armando shook his head. "It's nothing. You guys get in the car and wait for me."
Brynn glared at him and pulled Junior into the car.
Timothy's man was Max. Max opened the video on his phone. "Mr. Johnson, do you know this man and the little girl?"
Armando looked at the video calmly, his expression unchanged as he said, "Don't know them. I had picked up some money and thought this man had dropped it. I don't know that little girl either."
Max stared at Armando's face and smiled. "Really don't know them? Did you see which direction the van went? Did you see the license plate?"
Armando shook his head. "Sorry, I didn't pay attention."
At the same time, Timothy's phone rang again. It was a call from his man Max. "We've locked onto the van's location. It went to the suburbs. There are no surveillance cameras outside the suburbs, so it's very difficult to track."
Timothy frowned, his voice low. "Keep sending more people to investigate."
The person on the other end agreed and hung up.
Timothy sat in the car, gripping his phone tightly, his brow furrowed.
He turned to look at Elizabeth and noticed her lips were very dry, so he quickly opened a bottle of water for her to drink.
Elizabeth drank the water, feeling extremely anxious for some reason even now.
Both the police and Timothy kept adding more manpower.
They found the van at an abandoned factory outside the suburbs.
Timothy's phone rang again. This time it was Philip calling. "Mr. Robinson, we found the van inside an abandoned factory in the suburbs, but we didn't see anyone."
Timothy and Elizabeth's hearts jumped to their throats.
Didn't see anyone.
Elizabeth rubbed her temples.
The car quickly drove toward the abandoned factory outside the suburbs.
When they arrived at the abandoned factory, the police had already set up a perimeter.
After Timothy and Elizabeth got out of the car, they immediately walked into the factory.
Inside the factory it was dark and damp, with a musty smell in the air.
Police personnel were already searching the car for fingerprints, hair, and other evidence to test.
Timothy and Elizabeth stood outside the van.
Elizabeth wasn't sitting in a wheelchair. Her leg only hurt a little, but it was still bearable.
Philip's voice was heavy. "We searched the entire factory and the surrounding area but didn't find anyone. There should have been another larger vehicle parked outside the factory before. That vehicle has already left, and there are no surveillance cameras around."
Elizabeth's face instantly became very pale, and she covered her mouth.
Timothy supported Elizabeth while clenching his fist tightly, his eyes full of anger.
Philip sighed inwardly. The longer someone has been missing, the harder it is to find them.
Seraphina was still alive.
But despite sending people out to search, they still couldn't find any trace of Seraphina.
Half a month later, Elizabeth and Timothy returned to Border Ridge City.
After not sleeping well for half a month straight, Elizabeth came down with a fever and was rushed to the hospital.
The doctor looked at Elizabeth on the hospital bed with a frown and said seriously to Timothy, "She had surgery and needs rest. Plus, she's been worrying too much, which has weakened her immune system. It's best to help the patient relax, otherwise the fever will keep coming back."
Timothy nodded. His eyes were also red, clearly from lack of rest.
The doctor didn't know what had happened to them.
He couldn't help but advise, "You both need to rest well, otherwise it won't be good if you both collapse."
Timothy nodded. "We'll be careful. Thank you, doctor."
Night in Border Ridge City.
The hospital was filled with the smell of disinfectant.
In the ward, Elizabeth lay on the hospital bed, her face looking very pale, cold sweat still beading on her forehead.
Timothy sat by the bed, holding her hand, leaning over from time to time to wipe her sweat. The exhaustion and worry in his eyes couldn't be hidden.
He gently stroked Elizabeth's forehead and said softly, "Elizabeth, you need to rest well, otherwise your body will break down. We still need to find Seraphina."
Elizabeth weakly opened her eyes and saw Timothy's haggard appearance with stubble on his face. She said with concern, "Mr. Robinson, you should go rest too, okay?"
Timothy forced a slight smile. "Okay."
Elizabeth nodded slightly, closed her eyes, with a trace of tears at the corners.
She knew she had to rest well, but anxiety and worry were tormenting her constantly.
Late at night.
Elizabeth seemed to have a dream. In it, she saw her daughter Seraphina running over, laughing as she threw herself into her arms. That warmth and happiness made her reluctant to wake up for a long time.
Timothy had been sitting in the chair by the bed. When he saw Elizabeth's expression looked wrong, he touched her forehead and found it was burning hot - she had a fever again.
He immediately pressed the call button.
The next morning.
Sunlight shone through the curtains into the ward.
Elizabeth slowly opened her eyes and saw Timothy still sitting in the chair by the bed.
She quietly looked at him, seeing the dark circles under his eyes were very serious. She didn't wake him.
It wasn't until the nurse knocked and came in to change the medicine that Timothy opened his eyes. Seeing that Elizabeth was already awake, he stood up and touched her forehead.
After the nurse left, Timothy poured a cup of warm water and placed it on the bedside table. He sat on the bed, helped Elizabeth sit up, and let her lean against his chest.
"Drink some water."
"Is there any news about our daughter?"
They both spoke almost at the same time.
Timothy fed Elizabeth water, his voice hoarse. "No news yet."
