Chapter 288 Seraphina's Whereabouts
At this moment, at Solstice, Sarah sent a message to Elizabeth. Sarah stared at the message for a while, then started packing up her personal items from her desk.
Both Sarah and Delilah had resigned, and tomorrow would be their last day at work.
Sarah deliberately worked overtime tonight to make sure everything was properly handed over.
The recent rumors had already made Sarah and Delilah the laughingstock of the company.
After careful consideration, Sarah decided to resign. If she stayed here, not only would she have no room for advancement, but she would also be suffocated by all these rumors.
"Sarah, are you really leaving?" Her colleague Rhea passed by her desk and saw her packing. She couldn't help but say, "Actually, once things blow over, people will stop talking about it."
Sarah smiled faintly and nodded, "Thank you, but I've already made up my mind."
Once things blew over, people would stop talking, but her position probably wouldn't have any room for growth either. She didn't want to be a test engineer for the rest of her life.
Rhea sighed, "You're a very capable person. I wish you all the best in your future."
Sarah smiled, "Thank you."
Her friend Delilah came over with her sleeves rolled up, "Sarah, are you done packing?"
"Almost, just wait for me a bit. How about you?" Sarah replied.
Delilah helped Sarah put items into the box, "I'm already done packing."
Sarah checked everything over - no personal items left behind. "I'm going to the restroom first. Let's meet in the parking lot."
When she went to the restroom, she didn't expect to overhear colleagues from the testing department laughing about her.
"Sarah's leaving. Are you taking over her work?" one colleague asked another.
"Yeah, I'm temporarily in charge. I'm so busy every day. I wonder if Raina, who's in jail now, regrets it - she sucked up to a fake, and ended up in prison herself."
"I originally thought Sarah was decent, but turns out she was just dreaming about becoming the boss's wife. She used to be Chairman's secretary and got transferred to the testing department - she probably did something bad."
"When you think about it, Raina was really unlucky, kissing up to a fake."
Sarah listened to her colleagues mocking her in the restroom, feeling both resentful and wronged.
She pressed her red lips together, suddenly not wanting to leave the company in such a miserable state!
She turned around and went back to her desk, picked up her phone, hesitated for a moment, and sent a message to Elizabeth.
[Ms. Penrose, hello. I'd like to introduce my work capabilities to you. I wonder if you could put in a good word for me with the BOSS. I don't want to leave the company feeling so frustrated]
Sarah also edited a detailed introduction of her personal capabilities and sent it to Elizabeth.
Sarah knew that work opportunities needed to be fought for, not waited for.
At the same time, Elizabeth, sitting in a car heading to the airport, received Sarah's message.
Elizabeth glanced at the message, then replied: [Ms. Palmer, as you wish. Also, I'll arrange something good for your friend Delilah too]
Sarah saw Elizabeth's reply and broke into a delighted smile.
Sarah had been thinking about how to bring up Delilah's situation, but Elizabeth had already solved it for her directly.
[Thank you], Sarah replied excitedly.
Things had turned around. As long as she stood at a higher position, they wouldn't dare talk about her like this.
At this moment, Timothy was contacting the local Pineville police station, asking them to help search for relevant information.
The car drove steadily toward the airport. When it stopped, Timothy got out first, walked around to the other side, and lifted Elizabeth directly out of the car.
"Mr. Robinson, if Sarah and Delilah are capable workers, please arrange suitable positions for them," Elizabeth said to Timothy.
Elizabeth's voice was hoarse from crying.
Timothy nodded, "Okay. Joe, arrange something for those two."
Joe responded and immediately took out his phone to call Dennis, explained the situation in detail, and asked him to arrange appropriate positions.
Inside the airport, Timothy held Elizabeth's hand tightly, both their hearts filled with anticipation.
Timothy's face was calm, but he was so nervous his palms were sweating. Elizabeth's palms were sweating too.
Even so, neither of them let go of the other's hand.
As long as Seraphina was still alive.
To Timothy and Elizabeth, it would be a blessing from heaven.
The plane landed in the city. Timothy pushed Elizabeth, who was sitting in a wheelchair, out of the airport.
They took a car to the Pineville police station.
"Mr. Robinson, Ms. Penrose, I'm Philip Mitchell from the Pineville police station. Please come with me," Philip said politely.
"Thank you, Mr. Mitchell," Timothy said gratefully.
Philip nodded, "We've mobilized all our police force to fully support your search. However, that man may have already taken your daughter and left Pineville. You need to be mentally prepared."
Elizabeth's face immediately turned very pale when she heard this.
Timothy held Elizabeth's cold hands with both of his, looking at her firmly, "Elizabeth, we will definitely find our child."
Elizabeth held back her tears and nodded, trying to calm herself down.
Seraphina hadn't been found yet. She couldn't cry.
Timothy turned to ask Philip, "Have you found any information about that man?"
Philip said, "We're looking into it, and we've already pulled the surveillance footage from the town."
The officer briefed them on the current investigation progress while showing them some key segments from the surveillance footage.
In the video, Rolf forcefully pulled Seraphina's hand, quickly moving through the town's streets.
Although the footage was somewhat blurry, they could see the front view - it was definitely their daughter Seraphina.
Seraphina had lost a lot of weight. There was a scabbed wound on her forehead, her hair was messy, and she was practically crying as she was dragged away.
Elizabeth watched the images on the screen and bit her lip. She knew crying would be useless right now.
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
Philip comforted them, "Please rest assured, we'll do everything we can to find her."
"Thank you."
Timothy gathered the basic information and quickly arranged for his own people to help with the search.
