Chapter 244 Taking Seraphina Away
Freya sent a message to Elizabeth, then replied to Elara's message.
[Mrs. Bailey, sorry, I'm not free tomorrow. My daughter is coming home, but I'm free the day after tomorrow]
Elara smiled and replied: [Then let's go to the theater together the day after tomorrow. See you then]
[OK]
Freya put down her phone.
She walked to the vanity, picked up a comb, and gently brushed her hair.
After tidying up, she walked to the bed and lay down.
"Honey, I just sent a message to Elizabeth, telling her to let me know if she needs help from the Stewart family." Freya turned her head to look at Russell, who was reading.
Russell put down his book and looked at her, genuinely curious. "Freya, what made you suddenly change your mind? You were so angry just a few days ago."
Freya nodded. "Yes, I was angry about what happened at the party that day, but no matter what, Elizabeth is my daughter. What kind of misunderstanding between mother and daughter can't be resolved? Mrs. Bailey is right - as long as there's love in your heart, everything will get better."
"Mrs. Bailey? Who's she?" Russell raised an eyebrow and asked casually.
Freya turned on her side to face Russell. "Mrs. Bailey is from the Rivera family in Lumaria. Their family has always been a famous fortune-telling family. I asked her to read Elizabeth's fortune."
Russell frowned, looking at Freya with some concern. "Don't get scammed. I know the Rivera family in Lumaria is very famous for this, but is this Mrs. Bailey really from the Rivera family?"
Freya smiled, her tone firm. "Don't worry, Aurelia and the others have also had Mrs. Bailey do readings for them."
Russell nodded, setting aside his worries for now. Several noble ladies shouldn't all be foolish enough to get scammed, and even if the fortune-telling was wrong, it would just cost some money.
"Alright, it's late. Let's sleep. Elizabeth and the others are coming back tomorrow."
The next day.
Freya got up early and busied herself giving instructions for preparations.
She wanted everything at home to make a good impression on Elizabeth and the others.
Beau came over and asked, "Mrs. Nightingale, do we need to replace the play equipment in the children's playroom on the first floor?"
The children's playroom on the first floor had originally been prepared especially for Jane and Tommy.
Thinking of Emma's previous deception, Freya couldn't help but frown. Freya made a decision. "Replace all the play equipment with new ones."
Beau nodded. "Alright, I'll arrange for staff to replace the play equipment as soon as possible."
Russell nodded in agreement.
In the afternoon.
Elizabeth and Timothy brought Seraphina to The Nightingale Mansion.
Freya and the others had been waiting in the living room early, and as soon as they saw them, warm smiles appeared on their faces.
"You're back," Russell looked at Seraphina standing by Elizabeth's leg, his face showing a loving smile. "Seraphina, come here, come to me."
Seraphina wasn't shy with strangers and smiled at everyone. "Hello, Grandpa."
"Such a good girl." Russell took out a check. Seraphina looked up at Elizabeth first, and only after seeing Elizabeth nod did she walk over on her little legs and accept the check with both hands. "Thank you, Grandpa."
Russell smiled.
Freya sat right next to Russell. "Seraphina, I'm your Grandma."
Seeing Freya, Seraphina had a good memory and still remembered what happened at ElizaTimo Restaurant. Freya had been so fierce back then.
For a moment, Seraphina felt a bit scared. She turned back to look at Elizabeth. "Mommy."
Freya had been smiling, but now felt awkward and a bit unhappy.
She wore an elegant dress, her hair neatly combed back, her brow slightly furrowed, her eyes showing some helplessness.
Elizabeth bent down and patted Seraphina's head. "Seraphina can call her Grandma."
Elizabeth herself might not call Freya mother, but for Seraphina, Elizabeth didn't want others to think Seraphina had no manners.
Seraphina looked at Elizabeth, then at Freya, and called out softly, "Hello, Grandma."
The awkwardness on Freya's face instantly disappeared, replaced by a smile. "Seraphina is such a good girl. This is a check from me for Seraphina."
"Thank you, Grandma."
Seraphina showed a cute smile. She took the check back to Timothy, who picked her up and placed her in the seat next to him.
"Daddy, help me keep it safe."
Russell and Freya were a bit surprised to hear Seraphina so naturally call Timothy daddy.
As if knowing what Freya and Russell were thinking, Elizabeth smiled and explained, "Seraphina is Timothy's biological daughter."
Elizabeth didn't say more about other matters, as they weren't close enough yet to talk about everything.
Before Freya and Russell could process this news, Timothy smiled and said, "Mr. Nightingale, I'm also here today to discuss wedding arrangements."
As soon as Timothy finished speaking.
The bodyguards they brought carried in gifts for discussing the wedding.
Russell and Freya looked at each other.
A moment of silence.
They had originally thought Elizabeth and the others were just coming back for dinner, but didn't expect it would involve their wedding.
Russell was actually quite helpless, but he also knew that Elizabeth and Timothy being together was already a fact. "When are you planning to get married?"
Timothy smiled and answered, "We both hope to hold the wedding as soon as possible."
After hearing this, Freya felt somewhat conflicted. She looked at Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, what do you think?"
Elizabeth nodded firmly. "I also hope to hold the wedding as soon as possible."
Russell was silent for a moment. "What about Manuel? Should we have dinner together to discuss this?"
Timothy smiled. "No need. When Elizabeth and I hold our wedding, we don't plan to invite Manuel."
Another moment of silence.
Russell took a deep breath and smiled. "Since you've already decided, we certainly support you. I'll find a good date for you."
"Thank you, Dad."
When Elizabeth called Russell dad, Freya also snapped back to reality.
Until now, Freya still hadn't heard Elizabeth call her 'Mom.'
Freya and Russell walked through the garden at home with Seraphina.
The flowers and plants in the garden were lush and green. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves onto the ground, casting dappled shadows and creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
Freya smiled and picked up her phone, constantly taking pictures of Seraphina's adorable appearance.
Seraphina ran and jumped around, happily showing her neat little white teeth for photos.
Freya took several photos of Russell and Seraphina together.
And Freya herself also took several photos with Seraphina.
"This is me, so cute! This is Grandma, so pretty! Grandpa is so handsome!" No one knew why Seraphina's mouth was so sweet.
Russell couldn't help but laugh and gently rubbed Seraphina's little head. "You really know how to talk."
Freya also laughed and posted the photos to Facebook.
Soon, likes and comments came flooding in.
Friends and family all praised how cute Seraphina was.
Freya looked at the likes and comments on her phone screen, her heart full of joy.
She smiled and replied to the comments from friends and family.
Someone commented asking whose child this was, and Freya replied that it was her daughter's.
At this moment, Elara, staying at a hotel, looked at the Facebook photos Freya posted, a flash of excitement in her eyes.
Elara quietly liked the post.
Seraphina - this was exactly Elara's target.
"What a beautiful little thing." Elara murmured in a low voice.
Elara took a deep breath, calming her emotions, secretly planning: No rush, no rush. Once she had completely gained Freya's trust, she would have Freya bring Seraphina out to play.
Then Elara could easily take Seraphina away!
