Chapter 238 Utilizing Freya
Mabel scooped up some ice cream and fed it to Seraphina, and Seraphina did the same for Mabel.
They had each bought different flavors and were letting each other try theirs.
Seraphina squinted her eyes, licking her lips with obvious enjoyment on her little face. "Your strawberry flavor is so yummy. Next time I want to get strawberry too."
Mabel smiled and scooped up another spoonful of strawberry ice cream to feed Seraphina.
Alfonso intercepted that spoonful of strawberry ice cream.
Alfonso smiled innocently. "It is really good."
Mabel stared at him in disbelief. "Alfonso!"
Could he be any more shameless?
Seraphina opened her round eyes wide and accused him, "Alfonso! That was for me from Auntie!"
Alfonso was so grown up and still stealing food from her.
How annoying.
Alfonso said gently, "Seraphina, be good. I'm doing this for your own good. Kids can't eat too much ice cream or you'll get a tummy ache."
Seraphina was a good girl and nodded. "Okay, Seraphina understands."
Mabel snorted coldly to herself. She put down her spoon, stood up, and went to get a new spoon.
Seeing this, Alfonso spread his hands innocently. "Mabel Darling, this isn't nice of you. I was just looking out for Seraphina."
Mabel gave him a cold look. "Stop calling me Mabel Darling."
Did he think she was an idiot?
Alfonso was practically ready to raise his hand and swear. "I really just thought Seraphina shouldn't eat too much ice cream. I wasn't trying to indirectly..."
Mabel caught on to what he was about to say and quickly shoved the spoonful of ice cream in her spoon into Alfonso's mouth.
Blocked.
Alfonso's inappropriate word was blocked by her.
He licked the spoon with his tongue. "Strawberry flavor. It is really good."
Mabel shuddered with embarrassment.
Alfonso was getting more and more shameless.
She looked at her spoon, too embarrassed to go get another one.
Halfway through the ice cream, Mabel thought Seraphina looked so cute eating that she decided to record it and send it to Elizabeth.
Mabel pulled out her phone from her bag, which was charging, unplugged the charging cable, and turned it on.
As soon as the phone turned on, she saw a message Elizabeth had sent that morning.
Mabel was very confused.
Mabel replied to Elizabeth's message with confusion. [Elizabeth, I'm not pregnant. Why are you suddenly asking this?]
How strange?
At that moment.
Elizabeth and Timothy were planning their date route. She saw Mabel's reply and figured it was a misunderstanding. [Maybe the kid didn't express it clearly. We thought you were pregnant]
Mabel looked at Alfonso suspiciously. Alfonso smiled.
A moment of silence.
Mabel lowered her head and sent Elizabeth a message. [Okay]
Mabel exited the chat and first recorded Seraphina eating to send to Elizabeth.
Seraphina was eating ice cream with her eyes squinted, looking completely satisfied, occasionally making sounds of approval about the ice cream. She didn't know she was being recorded.
Elizabeth opened the video Mabel sent and couldn't help but laugh.
Elizabeth handed her phone to Timothy. "Look, see how happy Seraphina is eating."
Timothy watched the video and shook his head with a smile. "Have you decided where to go on our date first?"
Elizabeth nodded and snapped her fingers, saying cheerfully, "I've decided. Let's go bungee jumping!"
Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground.
Timothy was wearing a white shirt today to match their wedding photos, and Elizabeth was also wearing a white shirt. The two stood under the tree and decided on this unusual date location.
Alfonso raised an eyebrow. "Bungee jumping? Are you sure?"
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow too, smiling happily. "Of course I'm sure!"
The bungee jumping platform was set up on a mountain in the suburbs.
Standing on the platform, they could overlook the magnificent view of the entire valley.
Below their feet was a bottomless valley.
Elizabeth stood at the edge, looking at the scenery below, her heart racing with both nervousness and excitement.
Timothy had been hoping for a chance to comfort Elizabeth if she got scared and acted cute with him.
Looks like he was overthinking it.
She didn't seem scared at all.
Just then, Elizabeth's phone rang. She took it out and saw the caller ID was Freya.
Elizabeth didn't want to answer. She pretended not to see it.
Timothy didn't ask much. "It's almost our turn to jump. Let's go get ready."
Elizabeth was about to put away her phone when Freya's call came through again.
Elizabeth frowned and chose to ignore it for now.
They strapped on their safety equipment and stood on the jump platform while the staff did final checks.
"Ready?"
"Ready!"
Elizabeth looked at Timothy. They were in sync.
They jumped together, the wind roaring in their ears.
Elizabeth's long hair flew in the air.
Timothy's gaze remained locked on Elizabeth.
At that moment, at The Nightingale Mansion.
Freya had called three times in a row without getting through, thinking Elizabeth must be busy.
She switched to sending a message.
[Elizabeth, when you see this message, call me back]
Until the next day.
Freya hadn't received any phone call or message back from Elizabeth, and her face instantly darkened.
Freya went downstairs with her phone. She stood in front of Russell, took a deep breath, and said, "What does your daughter mean? I called her and she hasn't replied to a single message. Does she have a big problem with me?"
Russell put down the newspaper in his hand, looked at Freya, and comforted her. "Elizabeth is probably really busy. There's a lot going on at the Sherman Group."
Freya frowned with dissatisfaction, a trace of hurt flashing in her eyes. "But I've called so many times and she hasn't called back once. I really feel uncomfortable about it."
Russell tried to ease Freya's emotions. "Freya, give Elizabeth some time. We just found her, everyone needs to adjust. She might still be getting her mindset right."
Hearing this, Freya became even more displeased. "I know, she's angry at me."
Russell couldn't solve the issues between Freya and Elizabeth, so he could only say, "You're Elizabeth's mother. As a mother, you need to be tolerant and understanding of your child. Once you spend more time together, your relationship will naturally improve."
Freya didn't agree with Russell's statement. "I'm her mother. She should learn to respect her elders and not seem so ill-mannered."
Hearing this, Russell's face turned serious. "Freya!"
In over twenty years, Russell had never scolded her so sternly.
Freya said coldly, "I have something to do. I'm going out."
She had already made the first move!
Freya got in the car, thinking of Emma.
Emma had always been thoughtful, but Freya got angry thinking about how Emma had deceived her.
Freya was in a bad mood and went to a piano recital.
The lights at the recital were soft, and the piano music flowed through the entire hall like water, soothing people's moods.
However, Freya's heart was still somewhat heavy. She remained dissatisfied with Elizabeth's attitude.
This made it impossible for her to fully relax while listening to the music.
Sitting next to her was the elegantly dressed Elara, wearing a gorgeous silk gown and carrying herself gracefully.
Elara noticed Freya's expression and smiled gently, saying softly, "Ma'am, you seem to have something on your mind."
Freya was slightly startled, then nodded and smiled faintly.
She wasn't used to chatting with strangers.
Elara smiled, her tone sincere. "Ma'am, your features look very good. Not only are you blessed and bring good fortune to your husband, but you can also bring good luck to your family."
Freya smiled. "You can read faces?"
Elara's smile deepened. "I'm from Lumaria. My ancestors were fortune tellers, and I know a little bit myself."
Elara was very talkative and easygoing, and Freya occasionally chatted with her.
Elara introduced herself. "My husband is from the Bailey family. My name is Elara Rivera, and I've been visiting Border Ridge City for a month now."
Freya smiled lightly. "My husband is from the Nightingale family."
After the piano recital ended.
Mrs. Bailey smiled. "Mrs. Nightingale, tomorrow there will be a Lumaria dance troupe performing here. If you're free, you can come appreciate our Lumaria culture."
Freya nodded. "If I'm free."
They each got into their own cars.
Elara got in the car and smiled faintly.
That useless Emma had almost gotten her caught.
Freya should be easy to use.
