Chapter 225 Reuniting with Relatives?
Meanwhile.
Russell returned home, still wearing a smile on his face.
He went to the back garden to find Freya and said excitedly, "Freya, I have good news to tell you."
Freya put down the flowers in her hands and looked at Russell with confusion, "What good news? You look so happy."
Russell held Freya's hands and said excitedly, "I found our daughter."
Freya immediately covered her lips, her face showing surprise, then tears welled up in her eyes, "Really? Where is she?"
Russell nodded. He pulled Freya into his arms, "Don't cry, it's true. We'll see her tonight, and you know her too."
"That's wonderful. After all these years, we finally found her," Freya suddenly realized something, "I know her too?"
"You know her. It's Elizabeth." Russell hadn't expected their daughter to be so close to them.
"It's her?" A flash of surprise crossed Freya's eyes. She stepped out of Russell's embrace, quite shocked.
"It's her." Russell gently patted the back of Freya's hand and sighed.
Freya's feelings were mixed at that moment - both surprised and a bit complicated.
However, she was her own daughter after all, so naturally she would love her once they found her.
"Freya, I set the meeting place directly at our home. What do you think? It's more convenient to talk at home."
"Of course. You should ask Elizabeth first if she has any objections. If not, let's meet at home." Freya wiped her tears and said with a smile.
Russell sent Elizabeth the time and meeting location.
Elizabeth quickly replied with a message: [Okay]
Elizabeth put down her phone, feeling mixed emotions.
She took a deep breath and picked up the phone to call Timothy.
Timothy's gentle voice soon came through, "Elizabeth, what's wrong?"
"Mr. Robinson," Elizabeth tried to keep her voice steady, "I'm meeting Mr. Nightingale and Mrs. Nightingale tonight. The paternity test results are out - they're my biological parents."
"Do you need me to go with you? Mr. Robinson's shoulder is always here for you." Timothy signaled Joe to leave first. Joe nodded and walked out of the study, closing the door.
Hearing Timothy's words, Elizabeth felt a warm, bittersweet feeling in her heart, "Okay, you pick up Seraphina from kindergarten first, and we'll meet at six o'clock downstairs at the Sherman Group."
After discussing the details, they hung up.
Timothy walked out of the study and saw Joe standing outside the door. He said, "Go buy suitable gifts for Mr. Nightingale and Mrs. Nightingale."
No matter what, he still needed to prepare what he should for Elizabeth.
Joe nodded in agreement and immediately left to prepare the gifts.
Timothy also needed to go pick up Seraphina from kindergarten.
Timothy didn't want to ask his staff to pick up Seraphina.
He had already missed these years of Seraphina growing up, and now he wanted to be personally involved in Seraphina's life.
Seeing Timothy appear, Seraphina immediately ran over excitedly and called out sweetly, "Daddy! I missed you so much, and I missed Mommy too!"
Timothy smiled and lightly tapped Seraphina's forehead with his finger, "Get in the car."
Seraphina climbed into the car, put down her backpack, sat properly, then turned to share with Timothy who had gotten in, "Daddy, my good friend gave me two candies - one for you to eat, and the other one is for Mommy."
"Good friend? Who is it?"
Timothy first helped Seraphina fasten her seatbelt, his eyes showing gentle warmth, then casually took the candy from Seraphina's palm.
Seraphina's little eyes followed the candy as it moved, and she nodded her little head, "Good friend, his name is Stanley Sanchez."
Timothy was very familiar with the family backgrounds of the children in Seraphina's class. Stanley was from the Sanchez family.
Throughout the journey, Seraphina shared things about her class with Timothy.
When she smiled, her two little canine teeth showed, making her look especially cute.
Timothy listened carefully and responded from time to time.
When they got home, Timothy handed Seraphina to the butler Quincy, crouched down, and instructed, "Seraphina, listen to Quincy. Your mom and I need to take care of something, but we'll come back tonight to be with you."
Seraphina nodded obediently, "Okay, Daddy, you two come back early. I'll be good."
Timothy smiled and patted Seraphina's head, "Okay."
He stood up, took the gifts Joe had prepared, and drove directly to the Sherman Group.
When the car arrived downstairs at the Sherman Group, he already saw Elizabeth standing there waiting.
"Are you nervous? Want me to tell you a joke?"
"No need." Elizabeth had just fastened her seatbelt when she changed her mind, "Actually, go ahead and tell me a joke."
She looked at Timothy doubtfully, wondering if he could actually tell a joke.
Timothy smiled and directly took out his phone to search - there were plenty of jokes online.
Elizabeth fell silent. She really had to hand it to him.
Timothy cleared his throat lightly, "Do you know why a little duck can fly into the sky?"
Elizabeth replied with a wooden expression, showing almost no emotion, "Because it has 'wings'."
Timothy, "Very smart."
Elizabeth smiled, her smile forced, but her nervousness seemed to have lessened a bit, "Yes."
Timothy gave up on telling jokes.
The two chatted on and off along the way, and time passed quickly.
The car suddenly braked hard.
The car suddenly braked hard, making a harsh sound.
Due to inertia, Elizabeth's body lunged forward violently, fortunately the seatbelt held her tightly.
"What happened?" Elizabeth asked, still shaken.
The bodyguard sitting in the passenger seat turned around and said, "A woman suddenly rushed across."
The gates of the Nightingale family home were wide open, with bright lights.
Russell and Freya stood at the entrance, their faces showing anticipation and nervousness.
Time passed bit by bit. They had originally agreed to meet at six o'clock, but it was now already seven.
Russell and Freya went directly to wait at the entrance.
They had been waiting for a long time. Originally scheduled to meet around six, it was now already seven.
Russell frowned, his face showing a trace of anxiety. He had already called Elizabeth three times, but each time no one answered.
Freya also seemed somewhat worried, her brows tightly knit, "Is she blaming us? Or is something wrong? Honey, should we call again?"
"She probably has something going on, or got delayed on the road." Just as Russell was about to make another call, he saw a black sedan approaching. He stopped dialing, "They're here."
Elizabeth sat in the car and saw Freya and Russell.
The driver opened the car door, and Elizabeth got out, with Timothy following.
"Elizabeth." Freya couldn't wait and stepped forward, calling out.
Elizabeth looked at Freya and Russell, her lips curved in a faint smile, "I'm sorry, we ran into a little trouble on the road."
She couldn't call them mom and dad yet - after all, they weren't familiar with each other.
After Timothy got out of the car, he took the gifts and handed them to the Nightingale family's butler. He stood beside Elizabeth and nodded to Freya and Russell, "Mr. Nightingale, Mrs. Nightingale, hello."
Freya had originally wanted to excitedly hold Elizabeth's hands, but hearing Timothy's voice, her excited mood instantly diminished.
The conflict from some time ago was still fresh in Freya's memory.
