Chapter 165 Border Ridge City
Because of Manuel's phone call, Elizabeth had a change of heart.
The door slammed shut.
Jake was kicked out of the bedroom.
Jake fell into deep thought.
Didn't Elizabeth love Timothy so much? How could she give up so easily just because Manuel opposed it?
A smile appeared on Jake's face. He knocked on the door and said in a sad tone, "Elizabeth, do you not love me anymore? Are you trying to send me off to that woman Emma?"
Elizabeth was speechless. What was he even talking about? She pouted and shouted toward the door, "Your dick is attached to you. If you want to run off to another woman, I can't stop you. I'm going to sleep, don't bother me."
"Anyway, I'm not going to Border Ridge City!"
Jake had no response to that.
The next morning when Elizabeth woke up, washed up, and walked out of the bedroom rubbing her eyes, she was puzzled to see paper cranes hanging all over the room.
Her mind immediately went on alert.
"I stayed up all night folding these paper cranes," Jake walked over to Elizabeth, put his arm around her shoulder, and persuaded her in a low voice, "Elizabeth, let's go to Border Ridge City together, okay? I can keep folding lots and lots of paper cranes for you in the future."
"And when we get married, we'll live on our own, not with my dad."
If she didn't go, how boring would it be for him alone in Border Ridge City?
Jake kind of regretted putting the call on speaker last night. He brought this on himself.
Elizabeth was pressed against him and couldn't get out.
"Let me go first. I need to eat breakfast. I'm pregnant now and don't plan to go to Border Ridge City to suffer. I can go after I have the baby."
If she said she wasn't going, she wasn't going. The baby in her belly was most important.
Seeing her unwavering attitude, Jake's eyes flickered slightly, and he stopped bringing up the topic.
However, for the next week, Jake went to great lengths to make Elizabeth happy.
Elizabeth's suspicious little eyes stayed on Jake the whole time.
"Mr. Robinson, you look like you're up to no good right now."
"That's unfair! I'm just making the mother of my child happy. Is that wrong?"
Then, one morning a week later, Elizabeth was sleeping peacefully when Jake wrapped her up in her blanket and carried her onto a helicopter.
Elizabeth was completely speechless.
Being randomly packed up and put on a plane, Elizabeth almost cursed, but fortunately she had enough self-control to hold back.
She kept a cold face the entire time.
The flight from Silverlight City to Border Ridge City only took a little over an hour. The helicopter landed at the Robinson family's airfield.
Elizabeth's last act of defiance was refusing to get off the plane.
She was still wearing her pajamas. There was no way she was getting off the plane looking like this. She would die of embarrassment.
Jake knew he was in the wrong. He touched his nose and coaxed her softly, "Should I keep you wrapped in the blanket and carry you to the room?"
Zander stood waiting not far away.
He quickly glanced into the plane and then looked away, thinking about Emma who had been sitting nervously in the living room this morning waiting for Timothy to come back.
Elizabeth glared at Jake angrily. She never realized he was this domineering before.
"Where is this?" Elizabeth asked unhappily.
"The Robinson family's airfield."
Elizabeth got even angrier.
Great, he flew straight to the Robinson family's place.
Elizabeth closed her eyes to calm her churning emotions, then opened them. "Did you bring my clothes?"
"I brought a few outfits."
Jake knew Elizabeth was angry, and it gave him a headache. He had been trying to persuade her for a week and Elizabeth still wouldn't agree to come to Border Ridge City, so he could only pack her up and bring her directly.
Elizabeth laughed coldly. At least he knew to pack her clothes. "Give me the clothes."
Jake turned to look at Zander.
Zander understood and had the people who came to pick them up leave first. He also turned around with his back to the helicopter.
Jake went to open the luggage and took out a dress and underwear for Elizabeth.
Elizabeth told him to come up.
She had him hold the blanket while she changed inside it.
At least wearing a dress would make her look more normal.
After Elizabeth changed, Jake got off the plane to get shoes.
Elizabeth looked at the shoes in Jake's hands with a half-smile. "You're really something, you even brought shoes."
Jake smiled. He held her foot and helped her put on the shoes.
Jake explained, "We'll stay at the Robinson family tonight, and tomorrow we'll go stay somewhere else."
He meant she just had to put up with it for one night.
"Fine."
Elizabeth wasn't in the mood to continue this conversation. She was already at the Robinson family's place - what could she do, back out now?
At that moment, in The Robinson Mansion's living room, Emma was distracted, constantly looking toward the door.
Cecilia smiled, "He should be here soon."
Emma, wearing a gorgeous colorful dress, smiled beautifully.
Before long, they heard footsteps.
Jake walked in with his arm around Elizabeth.
Emma stood up and walked over with a smile, "Mr. Robinson."
She nodded lightly at Elizabeth, "Ms. Penrose."
Her manners were so proper.
Elizabeth smiled faintly.
Jake glanced at Emma coldly. He turned to Zander and said, "Prepare breakfast suitable for pregnant women and send it to the room later."
He would take Elizabeth to the room to wash up first.
Emma, who had been ignored the entire time, kept her expression unchanged. She could really keep her composure.
Whoever laughs last is the winner.
Zander personally went to the kitchen to tell the chef to prepare food suitable for pregnant women.
Timothy's room was decorated in simple black and white tones. Elizabeth looked around briefly.
At that moment, Jake standing behind Elizabeth also looked at the room with a bland expression.
After Annie left, Jake hadn't set foot in The Robinson Mansion.
Nothing much had changed here.
"Elizabeth, you go wash up first. I'll go downstairs to get something."
After Jake finished speaking, he turned and left the room.
Because of Elizabeth's pregnancy, he hadn't smoked in a long time.
He went downstairs and had Zander get him a pack of cigarettes.
Jake greeted Cecilia briefly, took the pack of cigarettes from Zander's hand, and walked out of the living room.
Emma watched Jake's back but didn't follow. She continued chatting with Cecilia with a smile.
Jake walked to the pavilion in the back garden. He lazily lit a cigarette, put it in his mouth, his eyes looking somewhat gloomy.
There was a swing ahead.
Annie used to love sitting on the swing, her feet on the ground, swaying it back and forth.
"Jake, when you come back I'll have a big surprise for you."
Annie's voice came through the phone to him abroad, and he could feel her joy at that moment.
When he returned home, there was no surprise, only Annie's cold corpse.
Elizabeth ate the meal the servants brought up. After she finished eating, Jake still hadn't come back.
She rubbed her temples, thinking about Emma made her feel annoyed.
She sat on the sofa and sent a message to Mabel: [Mabel, I'm already in Border Ridge City, right now at The Robinson Mansion]
Mabel was still in Harmony City at this time. She would also return to Border Ridge City on the day of Tommy and Jane's 100-day celebration.
[Elizabeth, didn't you say a couple days ago you weren't going?] Mabel rolled over and sent a message asking.
[Timothy carried me onto the plane]
[He's really got some nerve]
Elizabeth sent a grimacing emoji, then put down her phone. She didn't know how to call someone to clear the dishes, so she just collected them herself and took them downstairs.
As soon as she walked out of the elevator, a servant saw her carrying the dishes and quickly came over to take them.
"Thank you."
Elizabeth was about to turn around and go back upstairs when Emma, who was sitting in the living room, stood up and called to her, "Ms. Penrose, come sit for a bit. Can we talk?"
Elizabeth raised her eyebrows and nodded, "Okay."
She walked over.
Cecilia smiled and stood up, "I have to go out later. You two take your time talking. Ms. Penrose, hello."
Elizabeth smiled, "Ms. Patel, hello."
Cecilia left to go upstairs and change clothes.
Elizabeth sat down on the sofa.
"Ms. Penrose, I need to apologize to you first," Emma said graciously, "Before Mr. Robinson chose to be with you, I didn't expect I would get pregnant at that time."
