Chapter 158 Good at Playing
"I saw Mr. Johnson doing it with his ex-wife in a car that night."
While Beatrix was sitting on the toilet in the restroom, she heard two girls talking outside.
"In a car? Oh my god, that's wild."
The two girls walked out of the restroom laughing.
Beatrix grabbed some tissue paper and wiped herself. She walked out of the stall, washed her hands, and frowned in thought.
What did they mean?
Were they talking about her son Armando? Or someone else?
If so, then Elizabeth was being intimate with two men at the same time!
Beatrix didn't really believe what those two girls were saying, and maybe they were talking about someone else anyway.
Beatrix kept this to herself and walked back to the private room.
After today's tea party ended, they came here to eat with Emma and the others.
In the private room, Mindy was sitting on Yosef's left.
When Yosef reached for the teapot to pour tea, Mindy quickly grabbed it first.
Their hands touched.
Mindy blushed, her ears turning slightly red.
The corner of Yosef's mouth twitched, and he pulled his hand back.
"Yosef, do you want tea? Let me pour it for you." Mindy picked up the teapot.
Seeing this, Yosef declined, "No thanks, I'll drink plain water."
He picked up another glass of plain water and drank.
Mindy felt disappointed for a moment.
Emma passed over her empty teacup and said with a smile, "Mindy, pour me a cup, thanks."
Mindy was touched—Emma was helping her save face. "Sure."
Beatrix walked into the private room just as their dishes were being served.
The food at this newly opened restaurant tasted pretty good, but Beatrix ate absent-mindedly.
What those two girls said earlier kept spinning in her head.
Armando had a cool personality—he didn't seem like the type to do something so inappropriate.
Duke Medical Center.
Claire woke up today finally feeling a bit better. She remembered what Elizabeth had mentioned about calling her in three months.
"Tom, let me tell you something. I think Elizabeth might be in some kind of trouble."
Claire said quietly, "When I went to the hospital to see her that day, she whispered to me to call her in three months to meet up. Isn't that strange?"
Tom stopped pouring water and frowned. It was a bit strange. "I'll find time to go see her. Right now, the most important thing is for you to rest and get better. Don't overthink things."
"I'm really worried about this rear-end accident. The driver wants to settle with compensation. Claire, do you want to keep suing her?"
Claire frowned, unsure whether to sue or not. "I'll follow your lead."
"Okay, I'll handle this," Tom held the cup and helped Claire drink some water. "Drink slowly."
The next afternoon, at the European-style villa.
Elizabeth had just finished interviewing several nannies.
She decided to have Fallon handle three meals a day from now on.
Fallon was already forty-six years old and had plenty of experience taking care of pregnant women.
Plus, she was from Sovereign City.
Elizabeth remembered when she had her miscarriage—Timothy had also hired a caregiver from Sovereign City to look after her.
Not long after the nanny Fallon left, Elizabeth received a call from Tom.
Elizabeth glanced at the study. Jake had gone to the study while she was interviewing the nanny.
She answered the phone and went to sit on the sofa.
"Elizabeth, I'm at your door right now. Can you come out for a moment? My friend came back from abroad and brought some local specialties. Claire asked me to bring them over for you to try."
"Okay, I'll come get them now."
Elizabeth walked out of the living room to open the door.
Outside.
Tom was holding a bag of things, and Armando was there too.
"How is Claire doing now?" Elizabeth asked with concern.
"She'll recover after resting for a while." Tom looked at Elizabeth's complexion and saw she looked much better than before, which put him somewhat at ease. He lowered his voice and asked, "Are you doing okay now?"
"Pretty good." Elizabeth smiled.
Elizabeth's smile didn't look fake.
Tom casually mentioned, "Claire said once you've recovered, she wants to invite you to see a theater performance."
"Sounds good." Elizabeth smiled.
Tom handed the bag to Elizabeth, and just then Jake came out.
Jake naturally reached out and took the bag from Elizabeth.
Armando's eyes darkened as he watched this scene.
The fake Timothy put his arm around Elizabeth's waist and went back inside.
As soon as Armando got in the car, his phone rang.
When Beatrix saw Armando answer the phone, she quickly asked, "Armando, tell me honestly, are you still in contact with Elizabeth privately? I mean that kind of, that kind of intimate contact."
She had thought about it all night and decided to call and ask about this.
Intimate contact?
Armando was smart enough to figure out what Beatrix was asking, even though she was being somewhat indirect.
His eyes were calm as he asked, "Mom, why are you suddenly asking this?"
Beatrix took a breath, "Yesterday I went to a restaurant to eat and heard two girls say something like 'saw Mr. Johnson doing it with his ex-wife in a car that night.'"
Armando frowned, "Where did you hear this? Were those two girls deliberately setting something up? Elizabeth and I haven't."
When Beatrix heard Armando say they hadn't, she felt relieved.
"I heard it at Atlantic Grill. Armando, you should still try not to have contact with Elizabeth. Timothy is alive and back in the country. Having too much contact with Elizabeth is really bad for you."
Tom, sitting in the passenger seat, clearly noticed that Armando's mood had gotten worse since he hung up the phone.
"Mr. Davis, send someone to Atlantic Grill to get yesterday's surveillance footage."
Armando didn't believe this could be such a coincidence.
Meanwhile, after the nanny Fallon left the European-style villa, she went home and made a phone call. "Mr. Watson, I'll be in charge of Ms. Penrose's three meals a day from now on."
"Thank you for your hard work." Joe adjusted his glasses. He hung up the phone, his eyes looking worriedly toward the operating room.
He hoped Timothy could pull through this time too.
His severely burned skin could be repaired through later treatment.
It was just that when the explosion happened, fragments got embedded in his body, and some areas were very dangerous during surgery.
The operating room door suddenly opened, and a nurse ran out anxiously.
