Chapter 140 Unforgettable?
Mabel got Jane's hair. She went back to her room and quickly found a bag to put the hair in.
She let out a slow breath.
That scared me to death.
Emma suddenly appeared behind me and nearly gave me a heart attack.
Mabel checked the time and called Elizabeth, wanting to tell her about getting Jane's hair.
The phone was answered, but it was a man's voice.
Mabel was confused.
Did she dial the wrong number?
"Who is this?"
"Armando," Armando said flatly. "Elizabeth used my phone to call you today. I'll tell her you're looking for her when I go to the hospital tomorrow."
"Okay, thank you."
Mabel hung up and stared at her phone, lost in thought.
What's going on? Why did Elizabeth use Armando's phone to call her?
---
"People go missing or die in Aquilonia every day. It's really chaotic here right now. It's very hard to find someone, Ms. Penrose. Your chances of finding this person are pretty slim."
"Thank you. If possible, please ask people to keep an eye out for me." Elizabeth wrote down the contact's number on paper while watching Aquilonia news on her tablet.
She'd been making calls since early morning, trying to find Timothy.
Elizabeth was also worried about the bodyguards who had been with her all this time. Where were they now?
When Armando walked into the hospital room, he saw Elizabeth busy on the phone.
Armando could tell she was looking for Timothy.
Elizabeth hung up. "What brings Mr. Johnson here?"
Armando's eyes flickered slightly. "Remy made some porridge for you."
Remy used to mainly take care of Bronte. She didn't expect her to still be with the Johnson family.
"Thank you, but you really don't need to bring food tomorrow," Elizabeth said. "I've already hired a caregiver."
Armando suddenly bent down close to Elizabeth. Elizabeth instinctively leaned back.
He looked at her for a few seconds, then straightened up.
He gave a low response, put down the porridge, and told Elizabeth that Mabel was looking for her. "Ms. Simpson called my number looking for you."
Elizabeth said, "Thank you."
Again with her distant "thank you."
"By the way, I wanted to ask - what method did Mr. Johnson use to rescue me this time? I had four bodyguards with me. I don't know if they were also taken there?"
"I don't know where they are."
After Armando finished speaking, he looked at the red, swollen area on the back of her hand from the allergic reaction. He went to the bathroom and washed his hands.
Elizabeth frowned. She continued browsing Aquilonia news. With Armando here, it wasn't convenient for her to make calls.
As she was trying to figure out how to find Timothy, she suddenly heard Armando, who had just come out of the bathroom, ask her, "Where's the ointment for your hand?"
"What?" Elizabeth's train of thought was interrupted. She looked up.
"The ointment for your hand." Armando reminded her again.
Elizabeth looked at the back of her hand. She'd been so busy since waking up that she'd forgotten to apply the medicine.
She turned to open the drawer. Before her fingers could touch the ointment, someone beat her to it.
Armando opened the ointment cap. It was completely new and unopened.
This proved she hadn't been applying the medicine at all. No wonder the back of her hand had gotten more swollen.
He took out a cotton swab from the drawer, dipped it in the medicine, and said coolly, "Give me your hand."
"I can do it myself. Give me the ointment."
Elizabeth forced a smile. She really couldn't figure out what Armando was thinking right now.
His sudden attentiveness made her uneasy.
She reached out to take the cotton swab with medicine on it, but he grabbed her wrist and applied the medicine to the back of her hand directly.
Armando applied the medicine quickly. He soon released her wrist.
He put the ointment back in the drawer, threw the cotton swab in the trash, then looked down at her.
Elizabeth looked at the back of her hand, now treated with medicine, feeling even more confused.
She was pregnant with Timothy's child. Surely Armando wasn't still hung up on her?
So what was Armando's purpose in being so attentive?
"The doctor said you can be discharged in a couple of days. You need to take good care of yourself at home. I still have things to do at the company, so I'm leaving now." After Armando finished speaking, he turned and left the hospital room.
Elizabeth really couldn't figure out Armando's purpose, so she stopped thinking about it for now. Anyway, once she was discharged, they wouldn't see each other.
She tried calling her bodyguard Indigo first. As expected, no one answered.
Elizabeth called Mabel with a heavy heart.
"Mabel, it's me."
Mabel lowered her voice sneakily. "Elizabeth, is this your phone number now? Why did you use Armando's phone to call me yesterday?"
Mabel was worried that something had happened to Elizabeth. Otherwise, she wouldn't have used Armando's phone.
"My old phone number doesn't work anymore. I'm using this number for now. I'll get a new one in a couple of days."
"Elizabeth, what exactly happened to you recently?" Although Mabel was in her own bedroom, she still kept her voice low.
"I was kidnapped," Elizabeth didn't say who kidnapped her. "But I'm fine now. Don't worry."
Mabel covered her lips, almost crying out. "Thank goodness you're okay. God bless."
"By the way, I got Jane's hair yesterday. Jane is the name of one of the twin sisters. We just need Mr. Robinson's hair to do a paternity test."
Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat. "Mabel, don't do things like this anymore. I'm worried about you. Besides, Mr. Robinson isn't around, and we don't have his hair. His toothbrush hasn't been used in half a month, so that won't work either."
Mabel sighed immediately. "Then there's no way. Mr. Robinson's father is planning to hold a party when the twins turn 100 days old."
This would formally introduce Jane and Tommy's existence to people in their social circle.
