Chapter 86 Feeling Recharged?
Timothy listened to the call, bending down to get into the car.
He waited for Manuel to finish before responding, "Where do you get the nerve to ask me that?"
Manuel was stunned. Timothy was always so defiant.
"Seriously? If she comes to Border Ridge City, you know what she'll face. Keeping her as a mistress in Silverlight City might be better for her."
Timothy took the tablet Joe handed him and looked at the news.
It was just a gossip piece at first, with no evidence, so some people didn't believe it.
But soon, a photo was added to the post, showing both the front and back.
The front was a picture of Elizabeth at ten, wearing a sundress.
The back had a single line: [Your daughter has quite a unique taste.]
Timothy's face turned cold as he hung up on Manuel.
"Take down all the news."
Timothy's jaw was clenched tightly.
Joe contacted the relevant departments as quickly as possible.
The news about Elizabeth, which had been trending, was taken down.
Joe turned back to report, "The trending news has been removed."
Timothy opened the tablet to search for the news, and the infuriating article was gone.
Joe could clearly sense that Timothy was in a very bad mood now.
He just didn't know if this would affect Elizabeth.
The Robinson family situation was also very complicated.
Joe could only keep these thoughts to himself.
"Go to TechStrong."
Timothy turned off the tablet.
Elizabeth had also seen the picture of her at ten. She laughed quietly to herself.
Sure enough, Calista was ruthless.
She had tried to get the negatives back from Calista at the time but failed.
Elizabeth didn't continue to look at the news.
She packed up her things, getting ready to leave work.
Timothy called, "Elizabeth, I'm waiting for you outside TechStrong."
Elizabeth paused, "I drove my electric car to work today."
"That's fine, Joe will drive it back."
Timothy glanced at Joe sitting in the passenger seat.
Joe remained silent.
Elizabeth took the elevator downstairs. It stopped at several floors, and some employees were also leaving work.
When they saw Elizabeth, their expressions were a bit awkward.
Elizabeth moved to the back, making room for the others.
She drove her electric car out of the parking lot and parked next to a black sedan.
She turned her head and saw Timothy looking at her.
Joe got out of the car, closed the door, and took over Elizabeth's electric car.
"Thanks."
Elizabeth thanked him and got into the car.
The car drove off, and the partition went up.
Elizabeth asked calmly, "Did you see today's news?"
Timothy cupped her cheeks and squished them playfully.
"I saw it, and I'm still angry.
"If that man weren't already dead, I'd make him wish he were."
Timothy was clearly very angry.
Elizabeth pouted as he kneaded her face, "Is that all? Don't you think having a girlfriend like me is embarrassing?"
He wasn't ashamed of her?
Elizabeth's hand rested on his chest.
"Why do I feel embarrassed?" Timothy chuckled.
He lifted Elizabeth onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her from behind. "I just think you're far too kind."
Timothy leaned in close to her ear and said in a low voice, "You should have her lying in a hospital bed."
Elizabeth felt touched.
On the way to TechStrong to find Elizabeth, Timothy had figured out the situation.
Calista had been using the photo to blackmail Elizabeth for money.
Elizabeth just wasn't ruthless enough.
If it were him, he would have put Calista in a hospital bed from the start.
Timothy pinched Elizabeth's ear. "Does it scare you when I say that?"
"No." Elizabeth considered her strategy. "She should be like that. She deserved it."
She had been in a bad mood today.
Timothy's antics had at least cheered her up a bit.
"Timothy."
Elizabeth took Timothy's hand, her fingertips tracing the length of his strong, elegant fingers.
"What is it?" Timothy responded.
"Feeling recharged?" she asked, her tone carrying a hint of suggestion.
