Chapter 367: Can Only Strike First
When Wilmer saw Stefan's smile suddenly fade, he slapped his own mouth, "Sorry."
He shouldn't have brought that up.
What's past is past.
Wilmer changed the subject, "After college graduation, I thought everyone would go their separate ways. I didn't expect you and Dione to still be together, Stefan."
Stefan smiled faintly, "Yeah, probably won't be long before you can attend my and Dione's wedding."
Hearing this, Wilmer's eyes widened in surprise, "Alright, I'll wait to attend your wedding. You didn't come to Border Ridge City just for your girlfriend, did you?"
Wilmer was just joking around.
Stefan nodded noncommittally.
Wilmer gave a thumbs up in admiration. Actually, Wilmer felt Stefan didn't need to sacrifice his lifetime happiness at all.
Stefan should marry a beautiful wife.
Just then, Wilmer suddenly saw the pretty Jane being bothered by someone, "Stefan, look over there, a beauty."
Stefan wasn't interested, but he seemed to hear a somewhat familiar mocking voice.
He glanced casually in the direction Wilmer pointed, saw it was Jane, then turned back around indifferently.
Stefan really didn't have a good impression of Jane.
Jane had come to the bar looking for Tommy. She didn't find him, but instead got bothered by a drunk man.
Jane's temper couldn't tolerate being harassed by this drunk man. She raised her hand and slapped him, "Get lost, who do you think you are."
Suddenly hit, he was burning with anger and ready to teach Jane a lesson.
Too bad he didn't get the chance before two security guards dragged him out.
Jane looked very annoyed. She was about to call Tommy when she turned around and saw Stefan.
She paused slightly, then walked over, crossed her arms, looked down and asked coldly, "Mr. Hensley, Sloane came home and developed a high fever. What kind of assistant are you? Going on a business trip with your boss and being this irresponsible?"
Stefan nodded, his tone calm, "I understand I'm irresponsible, which is why I can't be an assistant."
Wilmer, listening from the side, felt the atmosphere was a bit awkward.
Stefan stood up, "Wilmer, I'm leaving first. We'll chat when we have time."
Wilmer nodded and stood up too, "I'll leave with you."
Jane was beautiful, just had too much of a temper.
Jane, who had been ignored the whole time, was both embarrassed and angry.
Jane glanced at Stefan, said nothing more, and turned to leave first.
After she walked away, Wilmer patted Stefan's shoulder, "Stefan, that must be tough on you. So you're working as an assistant now? Which company? Seems like your work pressure is pretty high."
Stefan smiled, "At the Robinson Group. I've already submitted my resignation."
The two walked out of the bar. Stefan and Wilmer were going different ways, so they each got separate rides and left.
When Stefan got home, he leaned back on the sofa, exhausted.
What Wilmer almost mentioned today brought back some bad memories.
Stefan picked up his phone and sent Seraphina a message: [Dione, I'm back from the bar, only had half a glass of wine]
Seraphina was drying her freshly washed hair when she picked up her phone and saw Stefan's message.
She replied: [Okay, rest early, good night. By the way, you don't need to pick me up for work tomorrow morning. I need to take my brother to kindergarten]
Stefan: [Okay]
In the morning, Seraphina quickly got herself ready, then went to Brandon's room to wake him up.
This was her first time waking Brandon up.
Just this once made her really appreciate Timothy's patience.
Seraphina picked up Brandon, who refused to open his eyes, and carried him to the bathroom, holding him up to stand, "Brandon, stand up and brush your teeth."
She even squeezed out the toothpaste and put the toothbrush in Brandon's hand.
Brandon kept his eyes closed and said in a sweet childlike voice, "Thank you, Seraphina."
He continued with his eyes closed, taking the toothbrush and starting to brush.
Seraphina was speechless, "Brandon, open your eyes and brush!"
Brandon kept brushing away, eyes still closed.
He was trying to catch more sleep while still brushing his teeth - his hands were still moving after all.
Seeing that Brandon could actually brush with his eyes closed, Seraphina stopped helping him.
After he finished brushing and washing his face.
She took him to change clothes.
When it was time to change, Brandon shyly asked Seraphina to wait outside, "Seraphina, I'm already four years old!"
He held up four little fingers.
Looking at Brandon's tiny body, Seraphina nodded, "Got it, I'll wait outside."
After Brandon changed clothes, Seraphina and Brandon had breakfast, then went to the side building to check on Timothy and Elizabeth before rushing off to school and work.
Border Ridge City wasn't raining today, and the car drove smoothly to the kindergarten.
"Seraphina, bye-bye." Brandon, wearing his backpack, waved his little hand at Seraphina and walked into the kindergarten with great spirit.
Today he was going to bring something yummy back for Timothy.
Seraphina waited until she couldn't see Brandon anymore before getting back in the car.
Seraphina had a negotiation today.
This was Elizabeth's first step in having Seraphina prepare to take over managing the company.
Robbie was already waiting in the office for Seraphina. When he saw her come in, "Seraphina, are you ready?"
Seraphina nodded and sat down.
Robbie said steadily, "Demetrius is very good at aggressive negotiations that leave opponents unable to fight back."
Thinking of Demetrius's overwhelming presence, Seraphina nodded, "Okay, I know."
Seraphina and Robbie chatted about business in the office, waiting for Demetrius.
Demetrius was very principled and punctual, but today he surprisingly didn't arrive at Seraphina Enterprises on time.
Seraphina waited calmly.
Seeing that Seraphina showed no signs of anxiety or confusion, Robbie's lips curved slightly with a smile.
Good, she could keep her cool.
At this moment, Demetrius, who hadn't been able to arrive at Seraphina Enterprises on time, had been stopped by someone in the hotel lobby.
Sloane, dressed in a proper business suit, stood calmly in front of Demetrius.
She held out a proposal with both hands, "Mr. Kramer, I'm Chairwoman Johnson from the Robinson Group, Sloane. This is our Robinson Group's proposal. We hope our company can get the exclusive distribution rights for your company's pharmaceuticals in Thalassia. You'll be satisfied with our proposal."
Before coming to the hotel to find Demetrius directly, Sloane had already had someone look into Demetrius's personality.
Demetrius was a cold-blooded and meticulous man.
But in business competition, opportunities always go to those who dare to fight for them.
Demetrius didn't take the proposal. Gavin beside him smiled and took it.
Businessmen value profit.
Sloane smiled slightly, her eyes firm, "Mr. Kramer, our Robinson Group takes the pharmaceutical business very seriously. We can provide the best promotion and sales services for your company's products. We'll only take one percent of the profit."
Demetrius asked with indifferent eyes, "As far as I know, the Robinson Group's main business is electronic products."
Sloane nodded, "It used to be. Our company is actively developing new business this year, specifically pharmaceuticals. I'll await your good news."
Demetrius didn't respond and continued walking out of the hotel. Gavin smiled and quickly followed.
After Demetrius and his people left, Sloane put on a mask and coughed a few times. When she stopped coughing, she said softly, "Mr. Hensley, take me back to the hospital."
Sloane had come straight from the hospital today. The recurring fever over the past few days had made her feel very tired.
"Mr. Hensley, do you think Mr. Kramer will choose the Robinson Group?" Sloane was actually very confident about this proposal - their company had given up a lot of profit.
Stefan had also seen the proposal Sloane made. Now it mainly depended on what Demetrius thought, "The proposal is very good. The Robinson Group should have about a ninety percent chance of getting the exclusive distribution rights."
However, Stefan still said, "Was it appropriate to suddenly stop him at the hotel today?"
Sloane pressed her lips and coughed, "No choice. Mr. Kramer is meeting with Seraphina Enterprises today to discuss pharmaceutical distribution rights. I had to make the first move. I'll send an apology gift later."
