Chapter 212 Going Home to Stay

Chapter 212 Going Home to Stay

After Timothy helped Elizabeth relieve her desire in the bathroom.

He reached for a bath towel and wrapped it around his waist.

Elizabeth raised her eyebrows, looking at him with some surprise.

He had helped her, but he himself showed no intention of taking things further.

Timothy's voice was extremely hoarse as he said in a low voice, "You're very tired. Get some sleep after your shower."

Since Timothy wanted to show consideration, Elizabeth accepted it without any guilt.

Seraphina woke up in the morning.

She turned her head to the left and saw Elizabeth, then turned to the right and saw Timothy.

Seraphina grinned.

She quietly turned over and crawled up.

Timothy had already woken up when Seraphina moved, but he pretended to still be asleep, keeping his eyes closed to see what Seraphina was going to do.

Not wanting to disturb Elizabeth's sleep, Seraphina slowly moved her chubby little hand toward Timothy's nose.

Seraphina pinched Timothy's nose.

The first time, Timothy didn't react.

Seraphina's eyes crinkled with laughter, and she pinched Timothy's nose again.

The second time, Timothy still didn't react.

Satisfied, she lifted her foot, preparing to climb over Timothy's body to get out of bed and play.

Timothy helplessly reached out and grabbed Seraphina's little foot.

"Daddy."

Timothy lowered his voice, "I'll take you out. Don't wake Elizabeth."

As he spoke, he sat up, picked up Seraphina, and got out of bed, moving carefully so as not to disturb Elizabeth.

The father and daughter quietly walked out of the bedroom.

Timothy looked at Seraphina's beaming smile and asked gently, "Seraphina, what do you want for breakfast?"

Seraphina tilted her little head, thought for a moment, and said happily, "I want to eat egg pancakes."

Timothy smiled, "Okay, let's go brush our teeth first."

He sent a message telling his people to buy egg pancakes.

At seven-thirty, Elizabeth woke up, brushed her teeth, changed her clothes, and walked out of the bedroom.

She saw Timothy and Seraphina turn their heads to look at her.

"Mommy, morning." Seraphina still had breakfast in her mouth.

"Morning."

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Timothy told Elizabeth to go eat breakfast while he went to answer the door.

Outside the door, Mabel was carrying breakfast, giving Alfonso the back of her head.

"I'm taking Seraphina out to play today, so don't keep following me around." Mabel warned.

Once Alfonso latched on, he shamelessly stuck around.

The door opened, and Mabel looked up to see Timothy.

She was instantly startled.

She took a step back and her back bumped right into Alfonso behind her.

Alfonso reached out and put his arm around her. He looked at Timothy and nodded, "Cousin."

This "cousin" made Mabel's eyes widen in disbelief.

Timothy gave Alfonso a brief glance, opened the door, and let them in, "Come in and close the door."

Mabel turned and glared at Alfonso, silently cursing him for randomly calling Timothy cousin.

Who's your cousin?

Elizabeth was eating breakfast, and when she saw Alfonso following Mabel in, she wasn't surprised at all.

"Seraphina, good morning." Mabel put down the extra breakfast she brought, bent down, and greeted Seraphina.

"Great-aunt, good morning. You look so beautiful today." Seraphina sweetly complimented her.

Mabel blinked and smiled non-stop, "Today's Seraphina is also very pretty."

Two childish people interacting.

Alfonso bent down. His height was similar to Timothy's—both were tall. His delicate features carried a smile with no hint of aggression, "Seraphina, morning."

Seraphina gave him a smile.

Yesterday Alfonso had bought Seraphina an ice cream, which won her over, "Great-uncle, morning."

Mabel was instantly speechless. When did Alfonso win over Seraphina?

Because Elizabeth had to rush to a meeting at the company, she ate breakfast, put on simple light makeup, and prepared to leave.

Before she left, Timothy caught her and asked, "Should I pack your things? Then we can go straight home tonight."

Elizabeth nodded, kissed the corner of his lips, changed her shoes, and went out.

Robbie walked into the office with a serious expression, "Chairwoman Penrose, I found out that a woman was sent to Eric's room the night before last. She claimed you arranged it, but we still can't find out who actually sent her."

Elizabeth was reviewing materials from various departments that needed to be handled after their self-inspections. After hearing what Robbie said, she frowned.

She had two theories in mind.

She said calmly, "We must find the person behind this."

The other party's purpose was nothing more than two things: either they didn't want the Sherman Group to cooperate with Zenith Enterprises Group, or it was a personal grudge.

Now that she knew what had happened, at least she could go explain things clearly to Eric.

Elizabeth picked up her phone and dialed Eric's number.

After a few rings, Eric answered the phone. His voice carried a hint of coldness, "Ms. Penrose."

Elizabeth got straight to the point, "Mr. Ayers, I just found out about what happened the night before last. This was absolutely not arranged by the Sherman Group. Our cooperation is very important."

Eric frowned.

Elizabeth continued to explain, "We're still investigating, but I have two theories. One is that it's a competitor who doesn't want the Sherman Group to cooperate with Zenith Enterprises Group. The other is a personal grudge. Either way, I will do everything I can to get to the bottom of this."

Eric looked at Mira sitting across from him.

For this Cloud Project cooperation, if not the Sherman Group, there was still the Collins Group.

He didn't give Elizabeth a response about whether there was still a chance for cooperation.

Elizabeth waited quietly for a few seconds, also guessing that Eric was hesitating.

She said sincerely, "Mr. Ayers, I understand your concerns. But I hope you can give us at the Sherman Group a chance. This misunderstanding won't affect how seriously we take this cooperation."

Just as Eric was about to refuse to cooperate with the Sherman Group.

His assistant Parker said to him in a low voice, "Mr. Robinson, I hope you can give Ms. Penrose a chance."

Mira, who had been one hundred percent certain that Zenith Enterprises Group would cooperate with the Collins Group, also heard what Parker said, and her expression changed.

Eric paused, then nodded and said to Elizabeth on the phone, "I'll give the Sherman Group a fair chance to compete with the Collins Group."

Elizabeth breathed a sigh of relief and said sincerely, "Thank you, Mr. Ayers. We will definitely give it our all and prove our capability and sincerity."

After hanging up, Elizabeth felt a sense of relief. At least it was good news.

She had to quickly find out who was behind this dirty trick.

"Robbie, keep investigating who's behind this."

"Understood, I'll speed up the investigation." Robbie nodded.

Just then, Betty knocked and came in, "Chairwoman Penrose, people from the tax bureau are here to audit the accounts."

Here it comes. Freya had indeed made her move.

Elizabeth's brow furrowed slightly. She immediately adjusted her emotions, "Please show them in."

A moment later, several tax bureau staff members entered the office.

Elizabeth stood up and shook hands with them.

The lead official said politely, "Ms. Penrose, we're here to conduct a routine inspection."

Elizabeth remained calm and smiled, "Welcome to inspect. We'll cooperate fully."

She turned to Betty and Robbie and said, "Assist the colleagues from the tax bureau and make sure all materials are ready."

Emma was holding a personal painting exhibition today.

Emma held Freya's arm, smiling broadly as she greeted the distinguished guests who came to view the exhibition.

Every smile revealed Emma's inner pride.

Emma had heard the phone call Freya made to the Stewart family.

The feeling of mother and daughter destroying each other was just wonderful.

Emma's paintings were quite attractive. With the Nightingale family's support, plus the fact that she was good at painting flowers and plants.

Freya praised her, "This exhibition is very successful."

Emma smiled and nodded, "Thank you, godmother. Your and godfather's support is very important to me."

At that moment, an uninvited guest appeared at the entrance to the exhibition hall.

Timothy, wearing a well-fitted shirt and suit, walked into the exhibition with a cold expression.

His appearance immediately caught Emma and Freya's attention.
