Chapter 196 Waiting to Hold You
Leaving the Western restaurant, Elizabeth sat in the car wondering what Herschel really meant.
Herschel had only told her one thing - that Timothy had sent Emma to a mental hospital because of her.
Was Herschel trying to warn her?
Before Elizabeth could figure out what Herschel meant, the car had already arrived at her doorstep.
Robbie got out to open the gate. Elizabeth got out and looked up to see Timothy standing at the entrance.
Elizabeth walked over, and Timothy naturally put his arm around her waist. He said thank you to Robbie and walked inside with Elizabeth.
"Why were you waiting for me at the door?"
"I was worried you'd been drinking. I was ready to wait at the door to carry you out of the car."
Elizabeth thought to herself, "I don't drink too much when I'm out. There's no need for you to wait at the door."
She looked up and caught his loving gaze.
Elizabeth stopped complaining.
Once inside, after changing shoes, she washed her hands before going to sit on the living room sofa.
"Did you eat enough tonight?" Timothy went to the kitchen and brought Elizabeth a glass of milk.
Elizabeth took the glass and drank a few sips. "I'm full. Mr. Robinson, do you know Herschel well?"
"Calm personality, does things steadily," Timothy wiped the milk from her lips and reminded her, "the Nightingale family is very protective of Emma. If you work with the Nightingale family, you need to be careful with the contracts."
At the mention of Emma, Elizabeth frowned. She nodded and told Timothy what Herschel had told her about Emma being sent to a mental hospital.
She asked, "What did he mean by telling me this?"
Timothy's eyes turned cold. "He's trying to tell you that Emma now has the Nightingale family protecting her."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes.
Timothy was worried Elizabeth didn't understand the Nightingale family, so he slowly explained to her, "the Nightingale family is an old family that's been around for almost two hundred years. Although the Robinson family is now the richest, we still can't match the Nightingale family's background."
"That's secondary. Most importantly, there's Freya's family, the Stewart family. At any time, officials come before business."
Elizabeth understood the ins and outs of this.
If she still wanted to develop in the country, she couldn't avoid dealing with officials. Elizabeth nodded, "I understand. Herschel might not choose to work with the Sherman Group anyway."
She wasn't forcing it anyway.
After finishing this topic, Elizabeth went to take a shower first. After showering, she went to check on the already sleeping Seraphina.
Seraphina's sleeping position looked cuter and cuter.
Baby, goodnight.
Elizabeth kissed her forehead and quietly left Seraphina's room.
She returned to the bedroom and saw Timothy on the phone.
Timothy waved his hand, and Elizabeth walked over, sat down, and nestled in his arms.
He held her while listening to Manuel's furious voice on the other end of the phone.
"Timothy, Elizabeth is now part of the Sherman family. You should let go. What does it look like for a man to be all about one woman all the time?"
Timothy said flatly, "Jake is already dead. I'm happy to continue being her man."
Manuel was speechless. "Who was that little girl you took to the children's playground yesterday?"
Timothy smiled sarcastically. "Of course she's my real daughter. Manuel, you ordered them to shoot five years ago and almost killed her. Have you forgotten?"
Manuel snorted coldly. "I did that for your own good. If you had gone there with your condition back then, Jake could have easily killed you."
Timothy laughed coldly and helplessly. "Whether it's Annie's situation or mine, you always say it's for our own good."
Timothy hung up the phone.
Timothy already understood Manuel's stubborn personality very well.
"Some parents do things always thinking it's for their children's good. Elizabeth, I hope we can both be good parents."
Timothy picked up Elizabeth and placed her on the bed.
"Goodnight, Elizabeth."
"Goodnight, Mr. Robinson."
Timothy supported himself on either side of her, and they gave each other a goodnight kiss.
Elizabeth rolled up in the blanket, put one leg on top of it, and adjusted to a comfortable position.
Time to sleep.
Timothy held Elizabeth from behind as they slept.
At that moment, at The Robinson Mansion.
Manuel heard the phone suddenly hang up and almost couldn't breathe properly.
Cecilia patted his back and glared at him. "Don't be angry. It's not like you just found out today that Timothy has that kind of temper."
Manuel picked up his glass and drank some water. "Back then it was clearly for his own good. If I had known, I would have just let him go over there and let Jake kill him."
"Children are nothing but debts." Cecilia sat down, rubbing her eyes and crying.
Manuel was startled. "Why are you crying out of nowhere? I didn't even scold you."
"My grandson finally got his company developed, and Timothy bankrupted it again. When will he ever let Armando go?"
When Cecilia heard from Beatrix that Armando's company had been destroyed again, Cecilia hated Timothy to death.
Manuel frowned. He had no way to deal with Timothy either.
But they had been together for so many years, so he couldn't just ignore it. He said directly, "I'll invest some money in Armando."
Cecilia wiped her tears. "Won't Timothy be angry?"
"He won't know. Besides, it's my money. What's there to be angry about?"
Emma got up early in the morning. She took the glass Elizabeth had used and the bottle Freya had used to an authoritative hospital for a paternity test.
She chose rush processing.
She could get the results this afternoon.
She went to a coffee shop near the hospital to sit and wait.
Her mind was complicated.
She hoped she was overthinking it.
Thinking of the information she got from Calista, Emma's nerves were tight.
Elizabeth couldn't be this lucky.
