Chapter 191 Encounter
In the conference room.
Elizabeth said politely, "Mr. Reyes, this document contains the Sherman Group's proposed acquisition price, payment terms, employee benefits, and so on. Please take a look first, and if there are any issues, we can discuss them."
Robbie distributed the documents to the team Byron had brought.
Besides bringing the Reyes Group's relevant team, Byron had also brought the Reyes Group's legal advisors this time.
Both sides negotiated over unreasonable terms.
The Sherman Group's acquisition terms were quite good, and everything progressed smoothly.
After they confirmed the negotiation results, they needed to print the formal acquisition agreement in the afternoon.
At noon.
Elizabeth took Byron and his team to the Sherman Group's cafeteria for lunch.
Byron noticed the ring on Elizabeth's ring finger and felt secretly regretful, not expecting that Jake had passed away at such a young age.
Somehow Brice had gotten into the Sherman Group.
He came to the cafeteria and rushed toward Elizabeth. Robbie steadily blocked him.
"Elizabeth, did you harm..."
Somehow Robbie managed it - a chicken drumstick was stuffed precisely into Brice's mouth.
Elizabeth was eating a drumstick and instantly froze.
She'd lost her appetite.
She put down the drumstick but still gave Robbie an approving look.
Elizabeth turned to Byron with a smile and said, "Mr. Reyes, sorry, I have some personal matters to handle. Please take your time eating."
Byron nodded, "Alright."
Robbie twisted Brice's arm behind his back and led him away.
Whenever Brice tried to open his mouth to curse, Robbie twisted his arm harder without mercy.
Brice cried out in pain.
Elizabeth wiped her red lips, stood up, pulled out her chair, and left in her high heels.
In the Chairman's office.
Elizabeth sat in her chair, lifted her eyelids lazily, picked up her coffee and took a few sips. "Go ahead, curse."
Robbie poked Brice's shoulder, indicating he could curse now.
Brice's brain suddenly came online. He rubbed his arm and suddenly realized he'd walked right into a trap by coming here today.
This was Elizabeth's territory.
Elizabeth frowned. Rather than waste time here, she'd rather work. "Well? If you're not going to say anything, you can leave."
Sweat broke out on Brice's forehead. "Sorry, I was drunk."
He turned to leave.
When he learned that Elizabeth had actually inherited twenty percent of the Sherman Group's shares, he'd rushed over to the Sherman Group in a rage to confront and curse at her.
All along.
Jake had rarely come to the Sherman Group.
And Vincent and Calliope only had one child, Jake.
Whether it was relatives from the Sherman family or relatives from Calliope's family, the Bishop family, greedy people all had their eyes on the Sherman Group.
Brice's mother Zoey had said that Jake was a lunatic, and a lunatic couldn't possibly manage the company.
And he, Brice, was a relative on Calliope's side - if he performed well, maybe he'd have a chance too.
He just hadn't expected Elizabeth to appear.
As soon as Elizabeth took office, she fired Brice.
Thinking of this, Brice glared fiercely at Elizabeth, then turned and left.
Robbie's expression didn't change as he followed Brice out of the office.
Robbie needed to deal with the security issue.
Brice was no longer a company employee - how could they just let him in?
This was a complete failure of duty.
In the afternoon, Elizabeth continued working with Byron and his team to finalize the formal agreement. Both parties signed, and after finishing this matter, she breathed a sigh of relief.
She didn't need to follow up on the next steps.
Tonight she was taking Seraphina out to dinner. When it was time to get off work, Elizabeth went directly to the restaurant they'd agreed on.
Although she and Timothy couldn't be all lovey-dovey in public right now, the three of them could still have dinner together in a private room.
In the private room, the three of them ate dinner quite casually.
Timothy originally wanted to feed Seraphina, but Elizabeth pinched his thigh. "Seraphina is already four years old, she can eat by herself."
Timothy smiled, picked up some vegetables, and switched to feeding Seraphina's mom Elizabeth instead. "Elizabeth, open up."
Seraphina took a bite of rice, her round eyes curiously watching Timothy and Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's face remained calm, but under the table her legs were hooking and wrapping around Timothy's legs.
Timothy instantly behaved himself.
Everyone ate properly, each eating their own food.
"Mommy, Seraphina needs to go to the bathroom." Seraphina obediently pouted her little mouth and wiped her lips with a napkin herself.
She wanted to jump down from the chair, but it was too high. She could only blink her eyes and look at Timothy.
"Daddy, carry me."
Timothy lifted her down.
"Thank you, Daddy."
Seraphina was so polite.
Timothy smiled.
Elizabeth was about to take Seraphina to the bathroom when she got a phone call.
Timothy said, "I'll take Seraphina."
He just needed to stand outside the women's restroom and wait.
Elizabeth nodded and answered the phone.
Timothy stood outside the restroom waiting for Seraphina to come out.
After using the toilet, Seraphina washed her little hands. She was too short to reach the paper towels to dry her hands.
Freya came out of a stall to wash her hands and saw a little girl standing on her tiptoes, stretching her little arms trying to reach the paper towels.
Seraphina was so cute.
Freya pulled out a tissue and gave it to Seraphina.
Seraphina smiled with her eyes curved into crescents. "Thank you, ma'am."
Freya smiled gently. "You're welcome."
Seraphina was wearing a puffy dress today with her hair in buns, tilting her head up adorably at Freya.
Freya smiled.
Seraphina was as cute as Jane.
Seraphina dried her hands and ran out of the restroom.
Freya walked out of the restroom afterward and happened to see Seraphina holding a man's hand walking ahead.
His back looked familiar. Freya looked carefully and it was actually Timothy.
Freya wondered curiously to herself whose child Seraphina was, that Timothy would accompany her to the bathroom.
Freya and Russell had also brought Emma, Tommy, and Jane out to dinner tonight.
First, to celebrate Freya's discharge from the hospital, and second, Emma had come back from Silverlight City last night with red, swollen eyes from crying. Seeing Emma so sad, Freya suggested they all go out for dinner tonight.
Freya returned to the private room.
Tommy and Jane were listening to Russell tell a story.
"I just ran into Timothy. He was with a little girl." Freya glanced at Tommy and Jane and lowered her voice to ask Emma, "How long has it been since Tommy and Jane saw Timothy?"
Emma smiled bitterly and shook her head. "According to Cecilia, Timothy hasn't returned to the Robinson family in years. Last year Mr. Robinson took Tommy and Jane to see Timothy about something - that was the only time they saw him."
Freya frowned.
Timothy was really heartless.
After they finished eating, they prepared to leave the restaurant.
She didn't know why they were so fated tonight - Freya ran into Seraphina again.
Only this time, it was Elizabeth holding Seraphina.
Freya saw it, and Emma naturally saw it too.
Emma looked at Seraphina in Elizabeth's arms in shock.
"Mommy, I'm so sleepy."
"If you're sleepy, rest on my shoulder and sleep."
After Elizabeth said this, she saw the car pull up. She carried Seraphina down the stairs. The car door opened and the mother and daughter got in.
To avoid attracting attention, Elizabeth had Timothy leave first earlier.
Emma heard Seraphina call Elizabeth mommy.
Emma bit her lip.
She thought back to five years ago.
Five years ago, when Elizabeth was taken away by Jake, she was already about three months pregnant.
Seraphina looked to be just about four years old now.
Emma was truly both shocked and furious. She hadn't expected Seraphina to still be alive.
What tough luck.
"So that little girl is Elizabeth's child. Strange, Timothy was just taking that little girl to the bathroom earlier," Freya said puzzled. "Since when did the Robinson family and the Sherman family become close again?"
Emma clutched her purse, her eyes flickering slightly, and smiled. "I didn't expect Elizabeth and Mr. Sherman already had a child. The Sherman family's confidentiality measures are really good."
Freya nodded. "The Sherman family does keep things very tight."
But these were other people's business, and Freya didn't have a habit of gossiping.
