Chapter 170 Hundred Days Banquet 2
The woman sitting next to Mindy wore a blazer and dress pants, with wheat-colored skin. This woman was Mira.
Mira raised an eyebrow, "Mindy, are they really announcing the good news today?"
Mira hadn't prepared a gift yet.
"Yes, my mom already told me in advance. Look over there, Mr. Robinson and Ms. Sutter are already standing together greeting the important guests."
After saying this, Mindy looked smugly at Elizabeth, wanting to see her reaction.
Unfortunately, Elizabeth was quietly talking with Mabel and completely ignored her.
Mindy felt like she was performing a one-woman show.
Mindy got a bit angry from embarrassment, "Elizabeth, you're just a mistress. Coming to an occasion like this today, don't you feel ashamed?"
Mira frowned. She looked at Elizabeth with an indifferent gaze. Some people always liked taking shortcuts and getting something for nothing.
Mira's parents had once fought over a third party, so Mira didn't have a good impression of mistresses.
But today Mira was a guest, so she wouldn't be foolish enough to make things difficult for others.
Several socialites around them cast their eyes on Elizabeth, looking down on her and sizing her up.
The dress and jewelry Elizabeth wore weren't cheap. Who would have thought she was a mistress coaxing men.
Strange, for this kind of occasion, the Robinson family actually invited a mistress to attend?
Elizabeth turned her head and glanced at Mindy, completely speechless. Why did everyone think she was a mistress? Did she have a mistress's face?
"I'm not a mistress, Ms. Johnson. Do you believe I'll call the police right now and report you for slander?" Elizabeth sneered.
Mabel wanted to speak up for Elizabeth, but Elizabeth grabbed her wrist.
Elizabeth shook her head at Mabel.
Whoever made a scene at this kind of occasion would be the one embarrassed.
"You obviously are, but you still won't admit it. How awkward. I won't mention it anymore." Mindy giggled quietly.
Elizabeth took Mabel's hand, ready to move to another place to rest, "Let's go somewhere else. There's bad breath here, it stinks."
Mabel glared at Mindy and smiled, "Okay, let's go. It really stinks."
Mindy also knew today's occasion wasn't suitable for making a scene. She had just wanted to insult Elizabeth on impulse, but since Elizabeth had already left, Mindy could only hold in her anger.
Some socialites who loved to gossip weren't afraid of offending people and quietly asked Mindy, "Who is she?"
She didn't seem to be from Border Ridge City's social circle.
Mindy hesitated, then said, "Elizabeth. In Silverlight City, she's the stepdaughter of a bankrupt Howard family. She used to be my brother's secretary and clung to him to marry him. I didn't expect her to be so capable. Even after the divorce, she can still..."
Mindy didn't finish her sentence, but everyone knew what she meant - that after the divorce, she could still be a mistress.
"Whose mistress is Ms. Penrose?" That socialite asked curiously, "It can't be him, right?"
Although Mindy was a bit dumb, she didn't answer this question, just smiled.
"Could it be him?"
Not far away, a man who considered himself charming and romantic was talking to Elizabeth and the others.
The man standing in front of Elizabeth was from the Sanchez family, famous in Border Ridge City's elite circle for being really good at "playing around."
Everyone looked in the direction the socialite's raised chin indicated.
That man was called Albert Sanchez. They all knew he was a scumbag.
The socialite looked at Mindy, waiting expectantly for an answer.
"I have something to do, I need to find my grandmother. Excuse me." Mindy smiled and left. She wasn't going to explain for Elizabeth.
Seeing Mindy avoid the question, everyone filled in the blanks themselves.
"Looks like this Ms. Penrose really is Albert's mistress."
"But she's just a mistress. How could the Robinson family possibly invite her to come?"
"Who knows if the invitation she mentioned is real or fake? Maybe she coaxed Albert into bringing her in."
Everyone accepted this last speculation.
But it was just gossip. Someone like Elizabeth wasn't important in their eyes.
"Ms. Simpson, long time no see," Albert turned his head with a grin and looked at Elizabeth, "Which family's socialite is this?"
Elizabeth calmly sized up Albert, her eyes turning cold.
Albert's gaze was very annoying. A lustful man.
Jake, standing beside Emma, saw Elizabeth and the others. He also noticed Albert's gaze toward Elizabeth. His eyes turned slightly cold as he prepared to go over.
But then Manuel brought two elders over.
"This must be Timothy's fiancée, right? She and Timothy are a perfect match. When can we attend your wedding?"
Emma smiled shyly yet graciously.
Manuel laughed, "You'll be able to attend their wedding very soon. I used to worry about what to do if Timothy never got married."
These two elders were from the Robinson family, and Manuel showed them respect too.
The group chatted and laughed.
When Jake was about to find an excuse to leave and go to Elizabeth's side, Mabel had already pulled her away.
"Elizabeth, let's go."
Mabel didn't even give Albert a glance. She took Elizabeth's arm and walked away.
Albert held his wine glass and shrugged. His wicked eyes fell on Elizabeth.
Really beautiful.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth told Mabel to wait for her. She needed to go to the bathroom. She had drunk a glass of milk before leaving.
Elizabeth opened the bathroom stall door and walked out. She immediately saw Armando.
The bathroom door was closed.
He wore a formal suit, standing by the door with cold eyes and brows.
Elizabeth frowned. She went to wash her hands and pulled out paper to dry them, then through the mirror, said to Armando by the door, "Does Mr. Johnson like listening to people pee?"
Very inelegant and bluntly crude words.
She walked toward the door, about to open it and leave.
Armando pressed one hand on the door handle and gripped her wrist with the other.
Both their gazes fell on the wrist.
"Elizabeth, leave with me now. If you continue to stay here, it won't do you any good."
Elizabeth looked up at him, smiled mockingly, and said lightly, "Why should I listen to you? Besides, we don't have any relationship anymore."
She didn't say anything too harsh, after all, he had saved her from that terrifying organ trafficking organization.
"Let go."
Armando didn't let go. He tensed his body, "Timothy is about to marry Emma. Do you want to be the other woman? If you continue to stay here, you'll only humiliate yourself."
"No," Elizabeth smiled slightly, "I trust Mr. Robinson. He won't let me be the other woman. Please let go, thank you."
She trusted Timothy that much?
Even though she had basically seen it with her own eyes today!
Armando's eyes darkened. He moved closer to her and said slowly, "Even at this point, you still trust him? Haven't you noticed? He's been standing by Emma's side all evening greeting guests together. That's his attitude."
The atmosphere was quiet.
Elizabeth was silent for a moment, then said with an indifferent expression, "I'll say it again, I trust Mr. Robinson. He definitely won't betray me."
Armando's eyes darkened. He almost said coldly through gritted teeth, "Fine, fine, fine. Just open your eyes wide and watch carefully. Watch how he won't betray you today!"
