Chapter 159 Very Bad
"Elizabeth, this water was originally cold, now it's warm, and soon it'll be hot. Then the egg yolk will be cooked through. Timothy's heart has long been warmed by Elizabeth."
"From liking to loving."
When Elizabeth woke up, her eyes were filled with tears without her even realizing it.
She touched her ear, having dreamed of what Timothy had once whispered to her.
Elizabeth pulled the blanket up high and hid underneath, crying quietly.
After a month, she had once again sensed that the Jake sleeping in the next room was not Timothy.
How frustrating.
At that moment, in the next room.
Jake watched Elizabeth hiding under the blanket, tapping his phone case with his finger, deep in thought.
Strange, why was this Elizabeth suspicious again? Before the hypnosis, she had already been mentally tormented at the organ trafficking place, and then after returning to Silverlight City, she was made to believe she had paranoid delusions.
Under that kind of mental pressure, after being hypnotized, she shouldn't have recovered so easily.
Jake called Jason, "Jason, come to Silverlight City again tomorrow."
After Jake hung up, he left the bedroom and went to Elizabeth's room.
The bedroom door opened.
Elizabeth froze instantly. She immediately pulled back the blanket and saw Jake walking in, wearing a black robe.
He was holding a book.
"Elizabeth, having nightmares again?" He walked to the bedside, looked down at her for a moment, then sat on the bed, leaning against the headboard. "Keep sleeping, I'll just sit here with you."
"No need, you should go to sleep too," Elizabeth yawned, pretending to be very tired. "Go to sleep."
"I'll just sit here with you," Jake's eyes darkened slightly. "Or should I hold you while you sleep?"
"No need, too hot."
Elizabeth closed her eyes and stopped talking.
She turned on her side, her back to Jake.
Elizabeth seemed to have developed a way to regulate herself. Not long after closing her eyes, she fell asleep again.
No matter what happened, life still had to go on with eating, drinking, and sleeping.
Jake leaned against the headboard, flipping through a parenting book, turning the pages very gently.
To raise a child into a high-IQ criminal, first, the child needed to master various kinds of knowledge.
All-around development.
Elizabeth seemed to be asleep.
She slept with her back to him, her neck looking thin and fragile.
Jake put down the book in his hand. He took out a box of pills from his robe pocket and put one in his mouth.
Without medication, he easily went crazy.
There was always a bottle of water by the bedside now. Elizabeth would occasionally take a sip or two before sleeping.
He picked up the bottle, unscrewed the cap, and drank the water through the bottle opening to swallow the pill.
The next morning, Elizabeth felt her eyes were a bit sore when she woke up.
She opened the bedroom door and walked out.
The living room was quiet.
Usually when she got up, Jake would be in the living room, but today she didn't see him.
Fallon had already prepared breakfast.
"Ms. Penrose, is there anything special you'd like to eat for lunch? I'll go buy groceries later."
"You decide."
"Okay."
Elizabeth ate breakfast without asking where Jake had gone.
But just as she finished eating, Jake came back, carrying a bag with a lively fish inside.
"What? You got up half an hour early today?" Jake looked up at the clock on the wall, his voice surprised.
Elizabeth was the type who would delay getting up in the morning as long as possible. If it weren't for the baby, she wouldn't even want to crawl out of bed for breakfast.
Elizabeth responded flatly, wiping her lips without saying another word.
Jake didn't seem to mind her indifferent expression. He walked over with the fish to show Elizabeth. "This fish, I caught it. I'll have Fallon cook it for you for dinner."
He went fishing early in the morning.
Elizabeth was speechless. Any fish bought at random would be bigger than this one.
He handed the fish to Fallon, who took it to the kitchen and put it in a basin of water.
Jake glanced at Elizabeth and went to take a shower first.
When he came out of the shower, he saw Elizabeth searching for something. "Elizabeth, what are you looking for?"
"Eye drops. Strange, I remember the eye drops were here. Why can't I find them? That's weird."
"They're in the bedroom, I'll get them for you." Jake raised an eyebrow and walked into the bedroom.
Elizabeth paused, her eyes sweeping over Jake's back as he entered the bedroom. She blinked. How did he know where things were?
It seemed like he knew everything about the house?
Fallon finished cleaning up the kitchen and came out. "Ms. Penrose, I'm heading back now. I'll come straight over after buying groceries at noon."
"Okay, be careful on the road."
Jake came out of the bedroom then, holding a bottle of eye drops. "The eye drops are expired. I'll go buy a bottle. Do you need anything else?"
Elizabeth thought for a moment and shook her head. "No, thank you."
Just then, Jake added, "By the way, Jason is coming tomorrow to give you psychological treatment."
He finished speaking and walked back to the bedroom.
Elizabeth frowned. Treatment my ass. She walked into the bedroom with a cold face.
Jake had already taken off his clothes and pants. With broad shoulders and long legs, he reached into the closet to get his pants.
Elizabeth walked in and was instantly dumbfounded.
"Why don't you close the door when you're changing!"
Jake turned to look at her, raised an eyebrow, took the pants and put them on slowly, saying lazily, "It's not like you haven't seen it before. Why are you staring so wide-eyed?"
Elizabeth turned around and left angrily. She had never seen it before. Did he really think he was Timothy?
When Jake came out after changing, she had wanted to say she didn't want to see a psychologist.
But instantly she lost the desire to say it. Whether she said it or not, it felt useless anyway.
Before Jake left, he touched her hair. "I'll buy you a burger and fries on the way back. We won't have Fallon prepare lunch. It's okay to eat something unhealthy once in a while."
Elizabeth didn't respond. She calculated her days. She'd take good care of the baby for another month, then find a chance to run.
Aquilonia.
The afternoon sunlight shone into the room.
Timothy, lying on the bed, had a sharp profile, but his face was red from treatment, his skin still recovering.
Joe walked into the room with light steps.
"Mr. Robinson, Jason has agreed to Jake's request."
Jason's ultimate goal in hypnotizing Elizabeth was actually to treat her mental state.
Timothy, lying on the bed, opened his eyes.
Timothy spoke, his voice extremely hoarse. "Proceed with the plan. Have our people infiltrate Jake's forces."
"Yes," Joe also reported on the situation with the Robinson family. "The Robinson family has sent out invitations. They'll invite people from all circles for Tommy and Jane's hundred-day celebration."
"Our people got word that Mr. Manuel Robinson will announce that day that he's giving Robinson Group shares to Tommy and Jane."
Timothy was a bit surprised, then laughed softly. "Don't tell me Tommy and Jane are actually my father's illegitimate children?"
He was even giving them shares.
The corner of Joe's mouth twitched slightly. They all knew it was impossible for them to be Manuel's children.
Due to his physical condition, Manuel couldn't possibly have more children, otherwise Cecilia would have gotten pregnant long ago.
"I've already retrieved the engagement ring from Bee." Joe was holding a box.
"Good," Timothy thought of the ring being worn by Emma, his expression disgusted. "Jake will cause a lot of trouble when he goes to Border Ridge City. When the time comes, just protect Elizabeth."
Timothy was tired after just a few sentences.
He didn't know how much longer this life of his could hold on.
He closed his eyes to rest.
Timothy was still clutching a photo in his hand.
Joe's gaze fell on that photo, pressing his lips together. It was a photo of Elizabeth with a smile in her eyes.
Timothy's physical condition was terrible.
