Chapter 151 The Dead of Night
Late at night, all was quiet.
Elizabeth was already asleep.
She seemed to be having a pleasant dream, her brow relaxed and smooth.
He stood by the hospital bed.
He reached out his hand, placing his palm over Elizabeth's belly beneath the blanket.
Inside was a child, a child belonging to that man Timothy.
In a few months, when the time came, he would personally perform a cesarean section for her.
He would take the child out.
He would raise Timothy's child well into adulthood.
The man wearing Timothy's face showed a gentle, jade-like smile.
Elizabeth was clever. When she saw Timothy return alive, she wasn't delighted but suspicious instead.
How interesting.
As for Tommy and Jane in Border Ridge City, he would deal with them when he got there.
Elizabeth slept until the middle of the night. Feeling hot, she kicked off the blanket, exposing one leg.
Timothy withdrew his hand from Elizabeth's belly and tucked the kicked-off blanket back over her.
After covering her with the blanket, he looked down at Elizabeth, then turned and went to sleep in the next bed.
The next morning.
Elizabeth wanted to take a shower first.
Last night she had only done a quick wash.
"Mr. Robinson, go home and get me a few changes of clothes. Remember to bring underwear too."
She was currently wearing a hospital gown, but she still needed to wear her own undergarments.
Timothy smiled and nodded. "Okay, you get up and brush your teeth, wash your face, and have breakfast first."
"Do you need me to carry you to wash up?"
"No need, just hurry back."
Elizabeth urged him to go home and get the clothes quickly.
Timothy saw that she looked much better today, so he felt comfortable leaving her alone.
He drove back to the European-style villa.
Massachusetts General Hospital was quite far from Integrity Road.
It took him forty minutes to get home.
To hide things from him, Elizabeth had actually gone to see a doctor so far away.
The car stopped at the European-style villa. Timothy got out and saw Armando coming out from the neighboring villa.
Timothy smiled lazily. "Mr. Johnson, thank you for taking care of Elizabeth while I was away."
Armando's face was cold. He turned and gave Timothy a cold glance, then bent down and got into his car.
Timothy raised an eyebrow, opened the door, and walked into the courtyard. He took out his phone and looked at the screen.
At that moment, Timothy's phone screen showed Elizabeth in the hospital room.
She was using her phone.
Timothy switched to another surveillance feed. This camera was clearly installed at the head of the bed, positioned perfectly to see Elizabeth's phone screen.
He saw she was watching a boring TV drama, so he stopped looking at his phone screen for now.
She said she needed a change of clothes.
Timothy opened the wardrobe and randomly grabbed two dresses and two light jackets.
He then opened a drawer to find Elizabeth's underwear.
Opening the first drawer, he saw men's underwear. Timothy snorted coldly and closed it.
He opened the second drawer and found Elizabeth's undergarments.
His gaze fell on several childish pairs of underwear, and he was speechless.
Underwear with little pig patterns.
Childish.
He grabbed several pairs of the childish underwear and put them in a duffel bag.
He brought the change of clothes to the hospital and gave them to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was watching her drama and said thank you with a smile.
She opened the duffel bag and saw that Timothy had actually brought her childish underwear. She got angry.
"Mr. Robinson, did you do this on purpose? I'm staying in the hospital. How embarrassing if the nurses see these?"
She was all worked up.
He snorted coldly. Only Timothy would like a woman like Elizabeth.
"Go back home and get different ones," Elizabeth lifted her chin slightly and glanced at Timothy. "Hurry up."
Timothy felt a bit speechless inside. She was really troublesome. Underwear just needed to be wearable, but on the surface, he still apologized properly. "Okay, okay, I'll go home and change them right away."
"You're still carrying a child now, don't get angry."
He would go along with her for a few months. When the child was born, she would have her turn to cry.
The Robinson family.
After breakfast.
Manuel announced something. "Timo came back to the country yesterday."
He looked at Emma and said, "Emma, you need to be mentally prepared. Timo says he wants to bring Elizabeth back to Border Ridge City for the wedding."
Emma's expression froze for a moment, and her face gradually became very unpleasant.
"Timo has never listened to me, but of course, the only one I recognize as Timo's fiancée is you." After Manuel finished speaking, he got up and left. He still had a meeting today.
Emma pressed her lips together.
Timothy was back.
Emma was both happy and worried. Tommy and Jane were her only leverage.
Cecilia smiled and said nothing.
Hearing that Timothy had returned to the country, Mabel was overjoyed. She quickly left the dining room and rushed back to her bedroom.
Emma glanced at Mabel's obviously delighted figure.
During Emma's time at the Robinson family, she had also noticed Mabel's position in the family—not very important, but no one would be foolish enough to bully her either.
Mabel returned to her room and called Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth, Mr. Robinson is back, right?"
"Yes." Elizabeth smiled.
"That's wonderful. I heard Mr. Manuel Robinson say Mr. Timothy Robinson wants to take you back to Border Ridge City to get married." Mabel was happy when she mentioned this at first, but then thinking about what Manuel had just said to Emma, she frowned.
Manuel said he only recognized Emma as Timothy's fiancée.
Mabel pursed her lips. She didn't want to bring up such a mood-killing topic with Elizabeth.
Mabel asked Elizabeth about something else. "By the way, did you ask Mr. Robinson about Tommy and Jane?"
Elizabeth slowly walked to the small sofa and sat down, smiling. "I asked. Mr. Robinson said I'm his only woman."
Mabel murmured, "That's strange then."
She said, puzzled, "But I think Mr. Robinson really dotes on Tommy and Jane. Everything they use is the best, and I've seen him look at Tommy and Jane with very kind and gentle eyes."
If Tommy and Jane weren't Timothy's children, why would Manuel still treat them so well?
That was the strange part.
"Forget it. Anyway, Mr. Robinson is back now. This matter should be resolved after you come to Border Ridge City." Mabel didn't think too much about it. She felt that with Timothy back, this matter would be easy to resolve.
Elizabeth actually felt this matter might not be so easy to resolve, but she hadn't met Manuel yet, nor had she met Tommy and Jane, so Elizabeth couldn't make a definite judgment.
While Elizabeth was on the phone with Mabel, she heard a notification sound on her phone.
After they finished talking and hung up.
Elizabeth saw that the sound was a new email notification.
She smiled and opened her email, clicking on the new message.
[Ms. Penrose, we found Joe, but we haven't found Mr. Robinson's whereabouts yet]
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Timothy, who had gone home to get new underwear, was also looking at his phone's surveillance screen.
Through the surveillance, he saw Elizabeth open the email.
He saw the content of the email message.
So someone was still looking for Timothy.
He laughed darkly.
He had come back alive, so why were they still looking for Timothy?
Tomorrow he would have the media announce the news that the next heir of the Robinson Group had returned.
