The Confession

The Confession
How dare she?
I had never felt this level of anger towards her before, I never even thought I would see the day.It took the grace of the moon goddess herself to stop me from having her head.

We were close. Yes. But even she knew the gravity of what she did. Interrupting my announcement? I almost lost my shit but I somehow managed to control it. And then she goes ahead to what? Propose to me?

I could feel the tension coming off Kieran in waves. I knew how everything must have made her feel and the thought of her even feeling any negative thing pissed me off even more.
No matter what, I was going to make sure the pack gave her the respect she deserved.

We stayed a little longer before I decided it was time for us to leave. I leaned closer to her and told her we should leave. The relief that flood her face made something shift in my chest. The fact that she felt so uncomfortable where she was supposed to be the most comfortable. It was her goddess given duty to be the Luna of the pack.

I smiled past my thoughts and got off my throne, and reached for her hand. She took it and I helped her off her seat.

Everyone paid their respects as we left the hall. Kieran could only breathe properly again when the doors closed behind us.

We started to walk towards my quarters. I rubbed a soothing hand over hers but she was still so tense. I suddenly realized why and stopped in my heels, turning around to the guards behind us in the process.

"Wait here for five minutes and then you can come to the door." I ordered and then responded.

I took Kieran's hand and walked away from them. When we turned the corner, she finally exhaled.

"Are you okay?" I asked and she turned to me with an obviously fake smile.

"Yeah! Why wouldn't I be?" She said, her voice slightly shaky.

"It's okay to be scared Kieran" I told her and she studied me for a second before she let out a puff of air.

"It was so nerve wracking. They hate me" she said and even though she tried to hide it, I could hear the sadness in her voice.

"They do not hate you" I said, assuringly.

She shook her head adamantly.
"They do. They don't want me, they want Sabrina and I really don't blame them. I mean, I'm a total stranger and she… she has been here since forever and would be the perfect fit for the pack… for you" she explained and I sighed as we finally reached the door to my room.

I wrapped my arms around her frame as soon as I closed the door behind us.

"I'm so sorry you had to experience that, but I promise they don't hate you. They just don't know you. Yet." I explained and she sighed and she let out a frustrated groan that was muffled by my chest.

"Ugh, I just wish I could show them that I'm not such a bad person" she said and I raised a brow as I pried her off my chest.

"You're a literal angel, Kieran and you should never think any less of yourself" I said as I looked straight into her eyes.

Her cheeks grew red as she looked away.

"At least, the hard part's over" she said and I smirked.

"Oh Luna, this is just the beginning" I said and her eyes widened.

I kissed her cheek.
"It's okay, you'll do just fine" I assured her.

She smiled slightly.
"Thank you" she said softly, her tongue swiping over her bottom lip.

My eyes followed the movement and I was stuck. Her lips, her eyes, her neck, her face, her whole damn body. I wanted all of it. I wanted to mark her right then and there.

"Kieran, I…" I trailed off as I processed what I was about to say.

"I want you" I said and she let out a tiny gasp.

"You- you…" she trailed off, clearly shocked.

"I want all of you, Kieran" I said and I took a deep breath as I stared at her. She looked so perfect.

"From the first day I met you, I've been holding back so much because I was scared you would try to run away again. The thought frightened me, so I took things slow. Too slow. And I almost lost you again." I paused to take in the surprised look on her face.
This was not how I planned to do this.

"I'm sorry if this is going too fast for you but Kieran, you have to understand, I need you, every inch of you. My life was hell without you and I never want to go through that again. I love you Kieran, all of you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you" I took a much needed pause as I reached for the small velvet box in my tux.

"Kieran, will you-" Just as I was about to bring out the box and pop the question, a knock on the door interrupted me and we both turned in the direction of the sound.

"Xander" my mother's voice filtered through the door.
Kieran and I stared at each other in shock.

"Oh shit shit shit" Kieran muttered under breath. She was clearly panicking.

I smiled and held her hands.
"Relax" I said and she looked at me like I had grown two horns but before she could even talk, I turned around and aimed to open the door.

I wasn't hiding her anymore. I opened the door and met my mother's angry eyes.

"Xander, I cannot believe that you made me find out about -" she trailed off as her eyes landed on Kieran.

She glanced at me in question before looking back at Kieran.

"You." She said, her voice cold as ice.
"Get out. I want to speak to my son." She said and I clenched my jaw in annoyance.

"Mother, I-" I started to say but Kieran cut me off.

"No. It's okay" she said, and she offered a sad smile.

"Kieran, don't -" I started to say but she shook her head immediately, giving me a pleading look. She didn't want me to do anything.
I sighed and watched as she walked out.

I followed her and ordered the guards to escort her to her room. I gave her a quick kiss of her forehead before
watching her walk away.

I walked back into my room to meet my fuming mother.
Here we go.
